  1. Same with me; although, I just put my 5-wood back in the bag to see how it behaves after several months in time-out. Me and trees have a love/hate relationship. You should come play our course. We have one 45-foot “Lone Pine” on our links-style 27 holes that sits about 200 yards from our tees and strategically positioned on the left-center portion of the fairway (slight dogleg right hole). If you hit it on your tee shot, you have to buy the first round after the round (yes, I’ve hit it…more than once)!
  2. Agreed. Someone recommended that the Tour Championship be changed to match play. It would negate the staggered strokes at the start; I’ve never been a fan of that. I’d be all for a match play format to determine the TOUR and FedEx Cup champion(s). Talk about exciting!!
  3. I’m going with Rors to complete his career grand slam. He’s playing well coming into Augusta for a change. He putted well last week after his swap to his old blade putter, his new Stealth2 driver is dialed-in and he’s hitting fairways, and his confidence is sky high after his Dell match play win over Scotty. I’m sure he’s using this week to put the final touches on his pitching and chipping game. He’ll be ready.
  4. I did something kinda similar to this with my 790's. I built an iron set with 3/8" length difference between irons and used 445 to 450gr as my target weight per iron with Recoil 95 graphite shafts and MCC Plus4 jumbo grips. I had to tweak head weights and adjust lofts a bit to dial in my carry gaps, but it's working pretty well for me. I'm tall with long arms and a bad back, so it helps that I don't have to bend over as much and that has helped with my overall ball striking. For example, my PW is now about the same length as what my 8-iron used to be. I completely ignored swing weight during my build and just went with what felt good. In fact, I couldn't tell you what my swing weights are with these irons. I ended up with a set that feels really consistent throughout and easier on my back towards the end of a round.
  5. The singles match between Reed and Rory at the 2016 Ryder Cup was some of the best golf I've ever seen. It was so entertaining watching the drama, them pulling out some awesome shots when they needed to, them giving the needle to each other and playing up to the crowd. I remember being so fired up watching that match; very fond memories for me. I was disappointed in him with the bunker deal, and it took me a while to see him hitting a shot without it not reminding me of what happened, but I'm over it and now just enjoy watching his magic around the greens and his sweeping draws.
  6. What's up with Sergio's clubs? It looked like he switched back to a mostly TM bag with woods, irons and a TP putter. Didn't see his wedges or what ball he was using, but I had to do a double-take when I saw him using a TP blade putter instead of his Spider, and not using the claw grip for all four days. It also looked like SIM1 woods under SIM2 head covers, so apparently no hard feelings between him and TM after the split. Plus, he seemed to be in a better mood. I'm sure that first round helped
  7. I’m currently gaming: Driver : TaylorMade FW : TaylorMade Hybrid: TaylorMade Irons: Mizuno Wedges : TaylorMade Putter: Odyssey I'm venturing out and trying new stuff this year. I'm getting fitted at upcoming Callaway and Titleist demo days next month at our club. Results are going to be king!
