  1. I heard someone once say that if you take the average cost per round and raise that to the millions that's how much it costs to operate a course. So, for example, if the cost of a round is 75.00 it takes roughly 7.5 million dollars to operate the course. Is there any truth to that?
  2. and the nice thing I noticed about it is if you forget to record your score the "+3" in your example turns into an exclamation point reminding you to go back and fix something.
  3. What kind of golfer are you? Do you like to warm up a lot, a little, none at all? It seems to be a fine line - too early and you can end up with a full blown range session where you're working on drills and end up in a poor mental state - too late and you don't have enough time to get your mind and body ready to go Are you someone who likes to have a full warm up (wedges/irons/woods/pitch/putt), just likes to chip and putt, walk straight to the first tee like a baus? something else? I personally try to get there at least an hour before but not more than 90 minutes before since I end up hitting too many balls.
  4. morning all... trouble brewing in little ol' Franklin Mass.... town needs an override to fund the schools and people are *very* divided on the issue. back to the good stuff though - get to play 18 this afternoon. I'm always grateful when I get to golf and never take it for granted. Sunny and blue skies with a bit of chill in the air. Going to try to figure out how to get in to the weekly skins games. Hoping that my replacement shotscope watch arrives from usps in time since the battery on LRF died. Got my new no torque Axis 1 yesterday and popped on the GP reverse taper. Anxious to see how that works out. Also reshafted irons and put on some fancy ferrules so I'll be looking purdy out there. Need new tires for our SUV and they aren't cheap.... but my 17 y/o drives it so it's a must. bummed I missed the weekly call yesterday; had to take my kid to the doc. will be looking for the recording so I can listen to it. this was one I really wanted to join too. have a safe and adventure filled weekend!
  5. WOW! Great pics. Almost looks fake. Were you able to make it down to the bottom? I've heard that people can ride donkeys down/up.
  6. I've done a few half marathons and that's a good way to determine if a full is in the cards for you. Good luck and have fun!
  7. Just FWIW - I posted a review of my experience here: If you haven't considered it, this one should be added to your short list. wellllll worth it. A great place for a group of guys, a couple friends, significant others, etc.
  8. One of the most genuine guys you'll ever meet. He epitomizes down to earth.
  9. Great call on this one. He seems very unlikable. I even had a hard time being happy for him during the Ryder Cup no hat fiasco.
  10. free shipping at 32 degrees today only! (4/25) https://www.32degrees.com/
  11. might want to get an odyssey cover for the LAB in case someone is thinking about stealing it... (no offense to Odyssey, but...)
  12. just picked up the shotscope x5 and only used it once but really like the course map feature. I still use the LRF to get distances to hazards but the shotscope is quickly making that a rarely used instrument. to answer your question - I would say get both; you'll find instances where you'll want one or the other.
  13. I would say at last 50 percent of the people I end up playing with as a single - and even some of my friends - do not use headcovers for their putter. Now some of these are older and maybe not worth it but I just don't understand that. I would never. You'll have to test some off-the-green-Texas-wedges and see if it does anything to the aluminum.... and for those people that use their putter in the bunker
  14. Doh! That's what I meant... I knew it started with an "N" .. lol
  15. yikes! thanks for the advice... NNews was about half the cost but sounds like no price would be worth it. good grief.
  16. morning all and to the new members, welcome! glad to have you and don't forget to read through this thread when applying to test: bright sunny start to the day and the birds are singing... over the hump and the weekend is right around the corner. finishing up new ferrules and pleased with how they came out. should be getting my new putter today and shotscope tomorrow and shoes soon thereafter! now I'm really intrigued by Saturday @GolfSpy_APH had me thinking that Saturday would be the Vokey's with his earlier tease. hoping to join the call tonight. sounds like it will be a lot of fun and very informative. have a day, gang!
  17. Meant to post this the other day. It was a good night to have youtube TV with 2 NHL and 2 NBA games on at the same time!
  18. TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS TO ADJUST A LIE ANGLE ?!?!?! .... for what they charge for their putters I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
  19. *if you are working with graphite shafts. you don't need one of these for steel shafts, but yes, without a doubt the only safe way to remove anything from graphite is with a shaft puller.
  20. what are the options for adjustment when acquiring a pre-owned LAB putter? For example, can the lie angle be adjusted by a fitter or is this something that LAB can do if you send the putter to them?
