  1. Will MGS be testing broomstick vs traditional? This is borderline fad territory with how popular it's getting but Sam from LAB really does seem to believe in it, although they cost more so I'm not sure if they profit more from these sales. The video with Eric about doing finesse type of things with one hand vs two actually makes a lot of sense to me.

  3. Wondering if anyone does this? With all the layers I'm wearing out there, it seems like my swing speed goes down at least 10%, and I rarely feel any of the golf shafts loading like they do normally. Thinking about going down one or even two flexes on all my clubs and switching irons to some really low cg design to help get ball up a bit more.
  4. I talked briefly to LAB about it and they said if money isn't an issue, TPT is the way to go but if you need to save a bit of $$, the Accra shaft is very good. I would imagine if you're going over length for arm lock or broom, tpt is the way to go, that's what I see Pros using. For std length, I would imagine the Accra is suitable. My upcoming Mezz max will have the Accra in it at 34". They also told me another Accra shaft will be available for custom options soon for $150. Stiffer than the current one, although I still can't really find conclusive evidence that stiffer = better. I've used the Uber stuff Fuji putter shaft and I thought it was horrible.
  5. Yeah I'm not sure, I'm not super stuck on data/numbers with clubs. I know it's important but if it looks, feels good and the flight looks right then I'm happy. I think the lofts are maybe 1* strong? Anyway, I'll prob try a players distance style iron and weaken as needed. I do think your right about deloft though, I've always had a lower ball flight and had to work on swing changes to help add a little more dynamic loft.
  6. What's weird is even when I feel like I hit the 5i well, it still seems to not fly high enough. It's not like I'm "slow", a 200 yard 5i is probably right around Tour average, maybe a little shorter. I should have enough speed to get a iron with that loft up higher. My gut is telling me to go with something like a T200 or even p790 but go a little weak to help add more spin, then grab a 4h (ditch 7w) and 5w.
  7. I have a stealth2+ and found it pretty forgiving for the lower spin model. I know the testing here showed it was top tier but when I spoke with fitters, none of them seemed to indicate it was a above average performer. Of the two I spoke with, they were having the best results with TSR, G430 max & paradym. I personally got my best results with tsr and aerojet. Paradym gave me best ball speeds but looks yucky and sounded a bit weird.
  8. It wasn't a robot, it was a jig that held the club with a dielectric magnet on the end so that when a switch was pressed, the club was released and hit the ball.
  9. I have a t150/t200 combo set actually haha. I used it for like 3 rounds but I didn't see any real noticeable improvement to my approach sg18 in Arccos. Maybe I need closer to 10 rounds to see differences... But I found the t200 5i absolutely nuclear, I was hitting it out to 215-220 and my guess is that the spin was very low, I'd probably be better off in a t150 5i but I'd be interested in a weak t200 if I had the ability to test. Really wish Fuji would have launched a 115g set too... The jump from 125 to 105 seems too extreme but I have a 105x in a driving iron that I'll use from time to time and it doesn't feel light.
  10. The rig the cool clubs guys have doesn't seem too complex... It wasn't the most controlled test ever but they tested every putter in the same way so it was at least a decent relative comparison I don't really like mallets but seeing how good the mallet ai compares in the latest vid to the Scotty (what I use) in the first blade video has me seriously thinking about one.
  11. TLDR - I have blades with Axiom 125 shafts. 5i doesn't fly high enough but all other clubs do. Best options? I have PXG 0211 ST blades with Axiom 125 shafts. I really like this set up but I have a similar problem to the other poster with the t100/t200 combo set. I don't like the 5i very much and the 4i doesn't serve me much bc it gets too close to my 7w. I'll get a 5w next year but I still don't even see myself wanting a 4i blade. My biggest issue is the 5i flies significantly lower than I'd like and rolls out too much. I do not have monitor data but the flight looks to be very low launch and adequate spin. I'll make big ol pitch marks on greens but it'll run out off the green. 4i I stopped carrying, I'll just hit a choke up 7w. Should I consider increasing the loft? Issue is, its a 200 carry and the 6i is 185 - if I weaken it now my gap to 6i is a bit too small and the gap to 7w (220) gets a little too big. I also wonder if the 5i shaft is just a bit too heavy at roughly 125g... But having a random lighter steel shaft like modus 105x will bug me. I also don't know if a shaft will change launch enough to make a big difference anyway. I need to gain at least 20, maybe even 25ft to peak height. Then there's the option of a new club head, such as a t200 and weaken. They go pretty high but I find like the other poster, they have seriously low spin.
  12. The cool clubs testing was interesting but I always take with a grain of salt the info that comes from companies who are financially incentivised to say new clubs are better than old ones. If I take it at face value, it was honestly pretty shocking how much better they are compared to other models out there. I do hope mgs will do some objective and subjective testing of these to see if the hype is real.
  13. Yeah I tend to take my lighter blade on fast greens and my heavier mallet on the slow ones... If I get fit I will just stick to one but I'll mention these conditions. I will start writing down each putt if it's short or long and by how much. I'm data driven so I'll toss this into excel and take a look after I get 5 rounds worth of data. We are coming into winter season here...I still play but less frequently. It does snow so who knows how much I'll play between now and spring. Sometimes I can get 5-6 winter rounds in... Other years it's 0.
  14. I have a few different putters but maybe I should stick to one regardless of green. I play some VERY slow bent grass, maybe rolling 6-7, then some others which are either poa or maybe even fescue? Not sure if there's fescue that can get that short... But anyway, it is very fast compared to the slow greens, probably a 10 or so. It's funny because I actually played at Dunes Club this year (will host a Tour event next May) and greens were verified 11-11.5 that day and it was the best I've put in my life. Of course I missed a 8ft putt on 18 for a par to shoot 79
  15. Right... And I feel like what the ball does directly is pretty important. Part of my issue could be improper launch or skidding on top of constantly under estimating distance.
  16. I plan to get fit... Probably won't be until next spring though. I want to make sure all the new Odyssey stuff is out and I'm trying to make my way to a Quintic or even gcq. I think SAM is fine but I don't think it gives things like fwd roll start distance and actual launch (just a prediction).
  17. I'm not sure but when I see Quintic related info online, I feel like I recall that you really don't want to be either. I tend to have a pretty deliberate and slow stroke. I tend to find softer putter shafts feel better for me... I've tried really stiff graphite and steel and did not like it. I use a fxp200 graphite shaft which is said to be a bit softer than most steel shafts.
  18. I don't disagree That's pretty interesting. is this to tell if it's more uphill or not? What's weird is I'll even leave down hill putts short, which is why maube why i thought it was mental, too.
  19. Longer stroke usually, but it's not something I think about to be honest. Practice comes mostly right before I play... Lately I've been going to different courses with different green designs and speeds but the majority of the time I'm short. I do use Arccos but I don't think it will know things like dispersion or my % of putts that are long or short. According to the app I'm actually best at putting but I think most players would be better putters than iron players except for the much better players.
  20. I fell like it must be a mental thing - no matter what putter I use, I'm constantly leaving putts short. I recently moved to a Odyssey with one of the microhinge inserts to help with forward roll but I find that it feels very inconsistent. I've tried every kind of putter and when one thing solves one problem, it causes another. When I've used ultra high moi putters for example, it made my medium length putts much better but then lag putting got much worse. Anyone here find a "universal" cure to habitually leaving putts short?
  21. Bump.... also interested. I may end up in a SIM UDI and I'm currently for better or worse, building an all black iron head bag. Would be interested in his service for this club if it becomes a permanent addition.
  22. Ian now seems to recommend the Directed Force putter which by design is center shafted. The results seemed pretty good but man... so ugly. Is it so good simply because lie angle balance? And are all center shafted putters lie angle balanced? If so... it would seem like it simply comes down to MOI because the DF putter does twist quite a bit on miss hits, but the ball still travels very close to target line.
  23. I have. Cradle doesn't give you as much info as SAM or Quintic. Generally my results were validated using Ping app after having done 3 putter fits now. My issue is I generally putt much better in a fitting than I do on course. I was fit into a Newport style head but I also got told if I wanted a mallet, what I should look for. I am currently looking at getting back in to a mallet for the added forgiveness.
  24. Just my .02 but the Atmos reallllyyy minds me of the old Motore Speeders. So much so, that I'm about 95% convinced that Atmos is just a painted Motore, with maybe tiny material change here or there. Profile feels identical (to me).
