  1. I'd like to say I bought new equipment to improve but I didn't. I was just an equipment junkie. Older and wiser. Still using last equipment purchased. Entering the super game improvement stage of my life (70+). May start looking in that direction. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. Played a course that had the inbound road maybe 10' from OB stakes. I hit a low screaming hook into the left headlight. In the bar, big joke "you shot lights out!". Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. Did they pay more to play than you did? Is their time more valuable than yours? Trevino said you have to be selfish on the golf course. You seem like a really nice guy. You shouldn't take an apologetic attitude to the course. Don't worry about their approval unless you're trying to date one of them. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. I've seen a lot more 15's that play like 5's. I joined a more upscale club many years ago. Most of the guys I played with said they were 5-12's. They always seemed to have terrible rounds in competition. Nothing in the world but ego handicaps. I'd rather admit to a 15 and win money. One of these guys sarcastically announced me as the best 14 in the club. After the noise died down, I looked him in the eye and said "15. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. Never hear much about Mizuno drivers. Other than blue finishes, what's the knock? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. So many balls, so little time. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. sounds like you've got miles if not the years. Nobody on the senior tees can tell how old you are. They'll appreciate your good eyes finding balls. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. I'm taking a trip down memory lane going to use my FTi this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Johnny Miller called those wood solutions, works only one day. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. baseball is thrown from the fingers (light grip pressure), darts are thrown from the fingers, etc. check where that grip is in your hands. Closer to the palms is like trying to throw a palm ball fast. Light grip pressure lets the clubhead naturally lag on the downswing. Just my take on it. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Grip pressure increases on downswing? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. 30+ has the potential to shoot 102. If more players understood that they would be a lot less upset with those 110+ scores. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. I got over that when I was 23 and an old man (70+) beat me like a drum. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. P, G, S and L for about 2 hrs. It was only 92*. Last week the same for 30 minutes. Heat index was 105*. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. Once hit 52 snap fades in a row at the range. Played the next day, nada. Maybe thinking about the target instead of hitting perfect shots was the difference? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Beautiful clubs but above my skill level. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. If it's blaring, it's rude and inconsiderate. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. I've played in my last out of town 2man tournaments. Scoring done behind closed doors so "homers" some how manage to shoot just one shot better. Closest to the pin? I hit a 5i to a pin tucked behind a bunker. Thought sure a foot would win it. Nope, asked tournament director and he said a guy behind me hit it to 6". I checked and sure enough local good old boy. Should have gotten a kiss with that. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. When I see lightning. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. Played in Corpus Christi on the Texas coast. First day down wind on a par three hit 5i pin high. Wind shifted the next day hit 3w short. At least the wind kept the mosquitos down. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. I let the wind and slopes move my shots. I aim away from trouble with a generous allowance for a shot to be off right or left. If I'm behind a tree and have a shot, I'll try to work it with adjustments to face angle and stance. On the tee, never. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. I started before Ping came out with their cavity back. It was Wilson Staff, Ben Hogan, etc. Golfsmith sold a simple tool to check if ball was round. Lots of them weren't. Ram's 3D ball was the first ball I remember with a surlyn cover. Before that it was wound balata balls that were easy to cut and knock out of round. To quote Dan Jenkins, "Boss, you done hit a voodoo ball!". Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
