I have both but find myself more in the 5W camp. I find that for my swing speed I get more loft more forgiveness and hence a bit more distance.

This is a question my wife has. How many pair of golf shoes is enough? When is it time to get rid of some. I’ll start. To keep peace I got rid of six pair leaving me with….

I use a Titleist staff bag most of the time. I also have a Titleist and a Ping carry bag.

I’m not asking for others to reinforce my view. If you read my message you will see I’m asking if others feel I’m way off base. I just think his comments about earring his age with one hand and shooting hi Abe or better some 3,000 plus times isn’t a little over the top. You never heard Nicklaus, Palmer, Trevino , Watson or Hogan boast like that. He just rubs me the wrong way. If you disagree just say so.

I used to like Gary Player. Not as much as I liked Arnie or Jack. However the last 10-15 years he has become obnoxious. He has become enough of my talking about me for a while. Now you talk about me then I’ll pick up where you left off. Not he states he has shot his age or better 3,020 times which equates to shooting his age almost every dsy for almost 10 years.And flying eight zillion miles where does he find time. I say bunk. He is more opinionated than Johnny Miller and Brandel Chamblis combined. What say you? Am I way off base?

For some crazy reason I have 22 pair of golf shoes. That is what my wife told me. Could be the Fl sunshine and having 50 courses at my disposal. Anyway I checked and 7 of them are Spikeless . I usually play early and my feet move quite a bit so I will normally play spiked. Golf Galaxy probably your best bet.

I must admit the number seems large. In fact since my posting my wife gave me the oldwaddabout . You know the what about this and what about that. And you know, she’s right. Must add the set of Macgregor MT Tourney’s and the almost embarrassed to say King Snakes. That brings the number of iron sets to 20. For this exercise I am looking at irons only as I have added and deleted drivers, fairway woods hybrid/ rescue clubs and let’s not forget putters . At one time when we were moving, the mover made the mistake of asking if I knew how many putters I had as they had to account for every thing. Unfortunately it was within earshot of my wife. When I said I had no idea he quickly answered, sir you have 158 putters. I told my wife he must be mistaken and I quickly retreated to the garage. And not to continue to beat this to death but watching the Masters today reminded me of yet another set, Titleist DCI irons that I need to add to the mix. That makes 21 sets that I can remember. I guess that mover must have been right.

First let me commend you on doing a great job. The two material look is wonderful. However trying to enter the putter market is an incredible uphill battle. I tried it myself with a similar style many years ago. To try and get what you think it may be worth borders on impossible. I wish you all the best. Follow your dreams but be prepared for the rocky road ahead Do you see value in the multi material design? Yes Do you like the simplistic design? Not really simplistic but a look that has been around a while What is your favorite and least favorite part? Probably the two part color combination with clean lines. Least favorite is where the hosel meets the head. Looks unfinished. Would you be excited to use this? I’m a center shafted guy so probably not. Would you consider purchasing this putter if there was a limited release? No.

What is the most memorable round of golf ever played. One that comes to mind above all others. A story that you have told a thousand times and will tell a thousand more if time permits. I’ll start it off. Mine was a round at The Country Club, Brookline Mass. in 1991. The Country Club is the oldest golf-oriented country club in the United States. I arrived at the club hung over having been out much too late having been out far too late the evening before entering clients in downtown Boston. I remember stopping at a drug store on the way there to buy sunglasses to hide the redness. It was a round scheduled with a client, a well known Boston Bruins former player and the member who was the Chairman of a MA based brokerage firm. Too messed up to hit practice balls and hands shaking from one too many cocktails it hit two putts on the practice green and was as ready as I would ever be to get started. The front nine was unbelievable. As bad as I felt, the clubs seemed to be on autopilot. A birdie par birdie par had me -2 after four. A bogey at 5 and another birdie a 6 had my mind swirling. What did Curtis Strange shoot in his final round of the Open in 89? I digress. Pars at 7 and 8 had me at -2. I knocked it stiff on 9 and found the bottom of the cup for an opening nine 33. Wow! Then came the dreaded words by the member. “Let’s stop for a bowl of soup and let me show you the clubhouse. Then we’ll go out for last nine.” Of course we accepted the invitation. We had no choice. The lunch was enjoyable however the mojo I had on the front side must have been left in the clubhouse library because it sure didn’t find its way to the back nine. I slashed my way to a +4 39. My hopes of qualifying for anything other than a weekend skins game were dashed. While a 72 on a course as prestigious as The Country Club is nothing to turn your nose up at, the disappointment of what could have been was gone. And to think, I could have been a contender. That’s my story.

I join with those that picked Augusta. Having been there a number of times, there is that mystery and feeling each time you walk through the gates. I have been blessed to play many of the top North American courses over the years but, as Jim Nantz once said about Augusta, “A course like no other.”

I had been playing TaylorMade SIM irons. Last week I purchased a set of Mizuno 921 Pro irons with UST Mamiya F3 shafts.

If it’s a money shot I’ll go with one more club. If it’s just a fun round I will go one less and hit it hard. Hint, one more club works better 70% of the time.
