  1. It really has done wonders for my stroke. Consistency of strike and start line have really translated to the course almost instantly.
  2. Just had the best round of my life, so far!! I shot 72(+1)!! I shot one under on the back 9. I held this round together, I was very aware of my score throughout my round, and I was able to stay focused and never let it get to me. My short game, and putting was amazing. Career best 28 putts(final review for truestroke coming tonight). My pro had made a little change to my setup, and the weather had stopped my last two rounds short but I felt like they could have been as good as this one. I am absolutely pumped right now! Score: 72 FIR: 10/14 GIR: 10/18 PUTTS: 28
  3. It’s flooding here in Texas so I am forced to be inside, hopeful that I’ll get to play Sunday. I am gathering some final things for testing. I want one more run at my 10 foot competition. Here are some pictures I took at home, please excuse my dog hair on the mat, he thinks it’s his when I’m not using it lol. I start by setting it while trying to aim the putter, then use the bars to get it aligned. What often happens when I am trying to get it set, the teeth don’t sit deep enough and it’s hard to keep in the grooves when getting it aligned. So this happens… It gets very frustrating. Indoors I don’t really bother trying to keep it perfect because there is nothing to keep it from moving if I hit it. Outdoors I can use tees and it will stay put, but it does take time. I also, use an alignment rod when trying to get it lined up.
  4. I like it for both. Only thing with indoor is that it won’t be secured with tees like you would get with outdoor use. If you want to use it as a gate it would be outdoor.
  5. Great question. I have the wellputt wellstroke mat where you put tees along the stroke arc, and each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Ease of use and setup go to the wellstroke. The wellstroke has a line running through it, so once you find the line lay it down and then roll a few, make adjustments and put your tees in and you are good. The downside is that on some putts you may get off track and miss a tee and not know it, it’s rare but could happen from time to time. Now this is just for me, but with it my stroke would get a lot of arc and my face would really open and close, I had the standard arc for reference. When it comes to true stroke I love that they are solid one piece design. When I first started I used them as a gate and teed them in and would run the putter along the rail to get a feel that my stroke really needed. Now I set them wide enough to miss them, and they are solid so there is no cheating this, if my stroke is off I feel it. The negative that I keep coming back to is setup is cumbersome. These pieces are bulky, and trying to get everything on the putting green is a task. It’s not something I would feel comfortable using before a tournament on a crowded green. Unless I make a ghost hole somewhere out of the way. Aiming it on something that is not a straight putt takes some work, but with time I have gotten better. But to me performance has been so much better with the true stroke, and it does exactly what it claims, more straight back straight through and better face control. I don’t think I have ever had this much confidence in my putting, dare say with more time and work I might be a good putter.
  6. I was rolling the ball very well today. My pro came out to check my putting, and said me draining 10 footers was too easy. So we move back to 20 feet to work on speed, which is a huge weakness for me. He set up a tee about a foot and a half behind the hole, and if I leave it short or hit it past the tee I have to start over. It should not have been as hard as I made it, but by the end I made 5/12 and the others were less than a foot each from the hole.
  7. Loving the results I am seeing on the course!! I am averaging a half stroke better a round currently, and the wind and greens have not cooperated at all. Still having some struggles with setup and ease of use. Rain has ruined on the practice green pictures and video opportunities. I do have some insights that I am doing with mine that I am interested to see if others think it’s a good idea or if I’m just ocd.
  8. I went early to the course today, to get some more work with the Tour Stroke. It did not disappoint. Although setup is not as easy as I would like it does make me a better putter. It started raining so I had to cut it short. I did get the 10 putts from 10 feet. Much better results this time. 3 makes and total misses added up to 5’4”!!! Thunderstorms are headed this way, but I am hoping to get some videos this week.
  9. So I’ll start and post my scores from my 10 putts from 10 feet. It was not pretty. 0 makes The total distances from my misses was 12’4”. I did have two lip outs, so that was a plus.
  10. Been a heck of a week at work, but getting a little putter therapy in this evening. I used to hate putting, but I’m slowly starting to enjoy it. I gotta get ready for this competition!!
  11. I got out and played today, and I gained 0.2 strokes compared to scratch handicap, which is where I am trying to get to. I gained 1.3 strokes compared to 4 handicap. I had 4 one putts, 13 two putts and 1 three putt. I made a 30 and 23 footer today!!! I really had a poor approach and short game day, I could not hit it close, but my putting was very solid for all but one hole which was more of a mental issue.
  12. This is how I felt today, even in the 20mph winds I felt like inside 10 feet I wasn’t going to miss.
  13. My first impression has been added. I got out again today, but it was very windy. Even in the wind, I felt like I could not miss after 10 minutes of putting through the gates.
  14. So I am just eyeballing the rails, but I think there is something to this training aid. It is really exposing my inside takeaway. I had my best putting round today in over my last 15 rounds. I am having so many more one putts, and way less 3 putts. In just the short time of having it, I can see a major improvement on my start line. I have been rolling about 50-100 putts a day with it, and I can’t wait to see how this does long term.
  15. Quick update, working on a more in depth unboxing. Anyone else having difficulty keeping the spacer bars in the grooves while adjusting alignment?
  16. Yesterday, I went to the course in hopes of getting 9 in, but the students are back in town. I went to the back of the range so I could just focus on my session. I have been hitting it good, but I wanted to really focus on my ball position and distance from the ball. I get the ball to forward and stand too far away at times. Both of these really helped me get better compression that I have been searching for all year. It was going good, but I was still having to “work” in the downswing. So I figured it was time to stop putting off working on my sway that kills me. I felt at setup like I am stepping on the inside of my right foot, and then maintain it in the downswing then push from there. This was phenomenal!!! I was getting effortless swings that was penetrating the wind and going so straight. I didn’t need to work in my downswing, it was fun to feel those swings. It is definitely something that I can build on going forward.
  17. My introduction is up, and I am absolutely pumped to get this going. I have tried left hand low, claw and even midlock right now. I haven’t even wanted to look at a putter let alone be excited to roll putts, but here I am like a kid waiting for Christmas.
  18. So thankful that I was selected, my putting is in desperate need of help. My ball striking has been so good, but putts are not falling. I have even put an armlock(Midlock) putter in the bag, and I am hoping this helps me get back to my ER5v standard putter. I am ready to get to work.
  19. Howdy, my name is Corbin Jeffs, cjeffs12. I work in the Trucking Industry. I was a driver, then an instructor, and just recently I was promoted to Operations Supervisor in College Station, Texas. My wife and I love to travel, and we have dogs and horses. I started golf in college. A few years ago, I started playing in a few amateur events a year. I am usually around a 4 with my goal of getting to scratch or better. I grew up playing sports so I am naturally very competitive, so when I would play with people who were better they would typically hit it further than me. This is when I found MYGOLFSPY, in my research of SuperSpeed sticks. I loved how the review process was, it was not like an infomercial. It was real people sharing their real experiences. My strength is being long off the tee, and this last year I really focused on my approach game. This has paid off and now I am averaging around 10 GIR, but averaging 34 putts a round is not going to get me to scratch. This year my main focus is maintaining my ball striking, and drastically improving my short game and putting. My putting is really holding me back, I have buddies who are scratch or a 1, and all my stats are as good as or better than theirs, except for one: Putting. I am averaging about 2 more putts a round than them, so this is really motivating me to improve. I have really been struggling the last two years with putting. I tend to bring the putter inside which leads to pushes and the dreaded compensated pulls. So getting putts to start on-line is not my strength. My Pro has really been trying to get me to be more Straight back straight through, but old habits die hard, so the True Stroke trainer focus to fix face awareness and straight path really excites me. My goal of how to test this is my tracking my number of putts in my last 20 rounds vs how many rounds I will get in during testing, and then when I stand with 20 rounds after I start with the trainer. I plan on ending each day with 15 minutes a day of rolling putts with the trainer. Most of my focus will be from 5 and 10 feet, but will do putts at 20 feet as well. I will track my putting stats through each week from 3,6 and 10 feet. I will do my ladder drill where I set up tees at 12,15,18,21’ and keep a score. Although most of the tracking numbers will be done on the practice green, I am curious to see how it translates to the course. I do have a WellPutt stroke trainer that I will compare with the True Stroke. My expectations for the True Stroke is that with better face control and a more neutral path that I will see a massive difference on putts made inside of 10 feet. If True Stroke can help me start the ball on-line, this will definitely stay in my practice routine. I have watched a few videos about the True Stroke and as an Aggie, a bright orange training aid will be a bit difficult, but nothing a sticker can’t fix lol. As of when I post this, I am not in a good mind space when it comes to putting, and borderline yippy. I do not feel comfortable with putter in hand, so this is much needed for my game, and I am very excited to get this testing started. First Impression ( 7 out of 10) When I first opened the True Stroke Putting Trainer and set it up, I almost immediately thought about Lego’s. . The mesh packaging is flimsy and looks as it will not hold up for the length of this test, but it does the job of getting from the car to the green. The Tour Stroke Putting Trainer appears to be a well-built device that can endure regular use without showing any signs of wear and tear. However, I can't help but feel a bit apprehensive about the device's durability in the event of an accidental fall or impact on a hard surface, particularly at the edges. I found aligning the training aid to the hole/ line to be challenging. The notches on the bars to set the width of the two tracks do not hold while you adjust the two tracks, and so setting them parallel and on line is not as easy as I would have liked. As far as performance goes, I am seeing massive improvements already. I am hitting about 50-100 putts each day, and I did not realize how I take the putter inside so much. Getting more down the line has really helped my strike and start line. I have already tied my best putting round in my last 20 rounds. I have noticed that there are some areas where production can be improved, but overall, the performance is very promising. With a few positive changes and adjustments, I believe that the production could be taken to the next level and lead to even greater results. Aesthetics (15 out of 20) Although I am not a huge fan of orange, the process is fairly straightforward. I did dock points for the flimsy bag it comes in; it’s weak and way too big and bulky, and makes it look cheap. I still have not added my Texas A&M sticker, but it will help the way it looks. THE NUMBERS (20 out of 20) Now I may be biased because I am coming off my career-best round of 72, with my best-putting round of 28 putts, but this has really improved my game!! When I started our competition from 10 feet and see how the total distance of the misses, I had 0 makes and my total was 12’4”. My most recent is 3 makes and a total of 5’4”!! The confidence I have in putting is insane. Since I have started using the TrueStroke I have dropped almost one stroke a round. Even my buddies I play with have noticed a difference. ON THE COURSE (12 out of 20) On the practice green is better than indoor, but I have a hard time getting the TourStroke setup. Having the holes to place tees in to hold it in place are great, but it does take time to setup. Once getting it setup and placing the tees in so it does not move its great, but since there is no alignment tool, and the rods do not stay in place when trying to adjust it to the line. I have been using an alignment rod, but I think that the notches need to be deeper and more width to stay in place while moving the rails to get parallel and on line. The performance I get out of it is well worth it, and I do not think it needs much to make it a lot easier to use and setup. THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE INBETWEEN (7 out of 10) The good is performance and that is an understatement. The bad is the getting setup. I have stressed that throughout testing and still stand by it. I do not think it is far off, but the little things really do make it frustrating. For the good performance I get out of it, I would use this before a tournament, and I have changed my outlook on this point. I have purchased a ghost hole so I can still be out of the way. The inbetween is the indoor performance. Since it has no way of staying in place, if you bump it at all it moves. All in all I feel like it really does what the manufacturer promises. My stroke is more straight back straight through with much better face control. PLAY IT OR TRADE IT (18 out of 20) I will continue to use the True Stroke as long as I keep putting the way I have been putting. Although I do get frustrated with the setup, I have never been so in control of my putting. Everyone who has been around my game has noticed an improvement in my putting, and it has helped my game improve. I and my pro have wanted me to be more straight back and through, and not take it away inside. I am interested to see how low my putting can get with the use of the Tour Stroke. CONCLUSION Over the last few weeks my putting has improved by almost one stroke a round, and I have seen my best putting round of my career of 28 putts. I have difficulty setting up the True Stroke, and I think just some minor improvements could make this phenomenal. I struggle(d) with an inside takeaway, and this really helps me get the feels that I need to be a more consistent putter. I think with time with the True Stroke I can really be a good putter, and I know I have seen great improvements. FINAL SCORE 79 out of 100
  20. I needed an after work therapy session yesterday, so I went to the range to work on my swing. I started with the prosendr to get the feels and connection. I am really trying to feel my arms drop and lead hip to clear to start my downswing, and I was really striping it with my P and 8. I moved to my 4 iron as I try to make it as difficult as possible and expose my swing. It was not working with the 4, and then something clicked, I tucked my trail elbow turned my inner forearm to the sky then turned my hand to grip the club(sorry internal and external rotation always confuses me). This really allowed me to feel it work around arc and not so chicken wing at the top. I started flushing my 4 iron and was hitting the green on the range at 225, I loved the contact and how shallow my divots were getting. I hoping that I am at a place to where I can go play 9 this week and start working on playing better golf.
  21. I had my first practice session with Jumbomax on all clubs. I have used them before, and they were hit or miss. At the end of last season I injured my left hand hitting a roof, and started getting a pop in my left hand during my release. So I thought I would dig them back out and give them another try. Honestly, I really enjoyed hitting them. I lost a little feedback, but could still tell in a general area for a mishit. I went from my miss being a pull to a push. I found that I can really turn and not fear a big left miss. No pain in my hand after a long practice day. I finished up with chipping. This took about 30 minutes to adjust and not dig the leading edge in, but after awhile I started chipping really well.
  22. Had a really good range session today. I worked with the Prosendr hitting pitch shots and half swing 8 irons. I hit about 40 balls with my 4 iron, really trying to expose my swing. This really helped, at first I was coming way over the top trying to focus on compressing it. Then went back to getting my weight pressure correct, and started hitting the ball high and straight. I did this to expose my swing, but also to check and see if I need a more forgiving option. After today, I think I can make it work, but also thinking I may want a hybrid or a more forgiving iron. I then moved to putting. This is my first pressure practice session since I’ve gotten the midlock. I set tees at 12,14,16,18,20’ with an alignment rod 3 feet past the hole, and points are 3 for a make, 1 for in between hole and rod, and -1 for short or past the rod. I played to 20 points. Then I setup at 3’ and made 20 in a row. I really like the midlock, I really got into a groove at 3’ that I usually didn’t get with a traditional putter.
