  1. As many have said, I don't understand the pushback against bifurcation. Is it going to "hurt" Titleist, Callaway, Taylormade or Srixon ?? I seriously doubt that. I'm with Chris Nickel (@GolfSpyC) when he stated in the latest podcast that the USGA and R&A are entrusted to look after the game of golf on behalf of all golfers, and this is going to negatively affect 99.9% of golfers.
  2. I play courses here in SE Queensland (AUS), slope rated from 123 to 135, so yes, plenty of water and other "penalty areas". Generally it's considered a good round if you can finish with the same ball as you started with. Playing close to 200 rounds a year, I estimate to go through approximately 20 dozen balls. I would love to play top-tier models regularly, but it's just price prohibitive, so 2nd tier models it is. (TM Tour Response, Titleist Tour Speed, etc)
  3. Playing 4+ rounds a week, all year 'round in Australia's subtropical climate, I do go through gloves a bit. I'd love to use premium Cabretta leather gloves, but they are price prohibitive as they are like cats, they don't like being washed. Synthetics like Bridgestone xFIXx (US$20, pack of 2) and Srixon All Weather (US$40, pack of 6), all represent good value for me.
  4. Our group's been having some fun as of late with this @EasyPutter....... I've just had a hip replacement.. My song for this yeaR IS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ke8mzgex4U
  5. Identical for me, 44°, 48°, 52° & 58°....... I'm comfortable manipulating my 52°
  6. I agree with all you are saying. And the angle theory is basic physics. And I have read up on the SG:OTT stats, Bryson 1.4, Rory 1.2..everyone else less than 1 per round... It hasn't done those 2 much good as of late. Not denigrating the players, just talking pure stats here...I play Bryson's driver and I like Rory. (Just to put that in perspective) However, just the one question, would you rather be on the short stuff 120 yards out or in the rough (with the possibility of obstacles) 90 yards out? I'm quoting the PGA stats page now "The largest difference between the rough and the fairway occurs between 120 and 190 yards where scoring from the rough is on average about 0.25 strokes higher than those from the fairway." The results will tell you that People are winning tournaments playing exactly that, the percentages, case in point Berger last week, Cantlay, Reed, Kim, Na, English, Hovland, Streb, Ortiz, Gay, Kokrak, Laird, Garcia and Swafford, none of them exceptionally long hitters...... that's since Bryson won the US Open...... Sorry forgot that Koepka won as well, but he's dropped some length since his return from injury. So, I don't really want to get into some argument, but do you really think whether the USGA or PGA should be doing anything to limit distance? My opinion was that they shouldn't, and I repeat it's just MY opinion.....doesn't mean that I am right or wrong. Cheers, happy golfing.
  7. Limiting tee height to try to limit distance... From what I have seen in the last 2 weeks, which is when this topic was first raised on "No Putts Given" (Great show, by the way guys), I started to take notice, Pebble Beach and yesterday at Riviera Both Phil M and Bryson tee theirs up, I would say nearly 2 inches (to the naked eye).... Neither of them hit too many fairways. Point is, let them hit big.... if they're good enough they'll hit straight. If not, they'll miss big and it's not even worth the extra 10 or 20 yards they might gain. Just to add, long drivers, like Kyle B etc.... are hitting 2 out of 8 inside the grid (which is generously wide).... See where I'm going with this??.... Risk vs Reward, always been part of the game, my opinion only of course.
