My 2 cents on the OEM distance debate: some of the technology works to make the ball go further, but if you can't control it that extra distance is often in a direction that hurts your game.
My anecdotal evidence is I had a Tour Edge exotics EXS driver that was advertised as a distance monster and it was for me. I used to hit the thing 30 yards further than any driver I had used. I loved it.
It wasn't until that driver broke and I started using my current TS2 that I realized being able to hit it 220 yards into the same 10 yard circle over and over is much preferred to hitting it 260, but half the time in the trees.
There's no question in my mind Tour Edge clubs gave me a distance boost as advertised, but it was a fleeting experiment and eventually the driver, 3w and 5H I had all got replace with clubs that have tighter dispersion.

I traded my 2021 PXG 0211 Driver & three fairway woods for Callaway clubs, but still play my PXG 0311-Gen3 irons (5i-GW).  I got a Callaway Rogue ST Max 10.5 Driver & 5-wood and an 2021 Apex 4-Hybrid.  Also, picked up a Titleist U-510 Driving Iron.  I always get my newer clubs the following year or later to get them discounted…don’t like paying the full price for new clubs!

I have something here that may be helpful. For back ground I'm 6' 4" and have always fluctuated between overweight and "healthy". In July of this year I decided to take some health into my own hands and break my diet intake down to the ground and start from scratch. Now I'm not sitting here saying do keto, do weight watchers. I'm saying take charge of your intake. I found some interesting information from Dr. Eric Berg and Dr. Sten Ekberg. They are both Keto fans and push their own stuff, NBD, who doesn't, but they both agree on intermittent fasting. So in July of 2022, I weighed in around 265, 270. I started doing a 16-8 fast with a cup of coffee in the morning as it is allowed. I won't have my first meal until noon, no snacking unless right beside a meal, then dinner between 6-8pm. My first meal of each day is 4 eggs, 3 oz of cheese, 4-5 strips of bacon, or a few pieces of back bacon, arugula, and something to drink. For supper it pork tenderloin, burgers, tacos.
When you fast, you are training your body to use fat as energy, not carbohydrates. So, my intake is fat based now. My meat comes from a butcher at every chance, the eggs and everything are organic as possible, and vegetables are what they are. I don't eat bread, pasta, or sugar to the best of my ability. But, I sit here now at 239 lbs and I haven't exercised once. I do walk to work and it's probably a kilometer at most but that just started a month ago. Honestly, your intake is holding a key to alot. Take a look on the back of that Kraft peanut butter jar and look for the ingredient maltodextrin. It has a higher glicemic rating than sugar itself. I make sure my beef is regular not lean, I cook with butter and olive oil. Survival experts swear by fat intake is key in the wilderness and there is something there. I am in no way a health or medical professional but someone who believes there is a little more to unlock inside some convoluted messaging regarding our food intake.

Tommy E reacted to Middler in Is the 60º wedge really that hard?
    Or maybe because:
you usually don't need that much loft, unless you play on a course with hazards everywhere around most greens starting online is just easier with a lower lofted club because it's a shorter swing, e.g. a 9i vs a 60º hitting thin with a 60º results in the worst outcome vs another loft (way long) with a fluffy lie, the danger of going under the ball and hitting off the top of the face results in the worst outcome vs any other loft (way short) - often compounded because most players use a 60º when short sided going over a bunker, water, etc. that you're now in, defeating the original purpose If you make your 60º your go to club for all chipping, and practice with it more than any other wedge, it could indeed be more versatile. That would lessen but not eliminate the mishit pitfalls. It is a harder club to get good at because of the high loft, no matter what bounce.
Because I have room in my 14 club limit, I carry a 60º low bounce (and a 56º high bounce) and I have had some great results with it when short sided, but I've had enough mishits that I won't use it unless it's the only choice. I use it less than once a round, a true special purpose club for me. YMMV

I agreed with your statement about practicing with about not hitting the same iron over & over.  Normally, I'll change up my clubs from odd to even on the the different days at the range, i.e. Driver, Utility, 5, 7, 9, GW or Driver, Fairway, 6, 8, W, SW.  This leaves my LW & putter on the practice greens every day at the range.  On the driving range, if I get 30 balls, then I hit 5 with club...60 balls, then I hit 10 with each club.
