  1. I have a 14 month old, so I totally understand dad commitments. Thankfully the course we play is only about a 5 minute drive, and right on my way home from work. If you can swing it, a mid week round really brightens up the week.
  2. Played my first round of Spark golf and it was a blast. You enter your score on their app, which automatically inputs your adjusted score based on your handicap. The app also shows everyone's scores in real time, so it was really fun to know how everyone else is playing and whether you need to be aggressive or not. My partner and I finished the day in 3rd, with an adjusted score of -4. We were able to play 9 holes in about an hour and 50 minutes, which got us home in time to relieve the babysitter at a reasonable hour. Whether you are looking to play some extra golf, relieve some boredom on a weekday or in need of some friendly competition, I highly recommend joining a local Spark league.
  3. Good morning everybody. I’m about to start a golf league next week with my wife. It’s a teams of 2, 9 hole 4 ball format. It has a few rule changes to encourage fast play, like lateral drops for OB and gimmes inside 3 feet. Seems like a perfect opportunity to play golf with my wife, who in the spectrum of golf enthusiasts, is more of a happy to go along, and tolerates my obsession. Has anyone ever played in this league, apparently they are all over the place?
  4. I agree, I have dabbled with blades, and when you are striking the ball well blades perform like any club that you hit in the center of the face. While you lose something with misses, that's true of any club. I think the feedback you actually feel in your hands from good and bad shots is the most stark difference. If you don't hit a blade well you certainly know it.
  5. This looks interesting. I used to use their free version, which was pretty excellent, for yardages. If weather holds up I should be able to give this a try this week.
  6. Your collection just inspired me to pitch golf channel on a hoarder house spin off for people with awesome golf club collections. I think it would be a hit
  7. Monogamy. I've had two putters in my life. The first one was my high school gamer that didn't survive the stress of trying to outdrive friends off the tee with it. I was so in love with that putter I kept playing with it for years even though it had some physical defects. All that being said, I am currently looking to upgrade to a milled steal putter, precisely because I think it will last.
  8. I just saw this Scotty Cameron giveaway from Ahya. Might make my decision easier. https://swee.ps/dVzeMq_VMBMJHm
  9. Thanks!! Was thinking of getting a Newport 2. Winning this contest would sure help make that decision easier
  10. I appreciate all of the responses. I went to the local PGA Tour superstore and messed around with the Special & Super Newport 2. The feel of each was nearly identical, but the Super Select was maybe a little hotter off the face. Both feel very stable and promote a smooth stroke. I tried hitting mishits off the toe and heal on each, and they both performed and felt similar (mishits felt much better than my current gamer the Ping Anser 2). I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I was really hoping that one model would have convinced me to pull the trigger, but I'll probably agonize about it for another few months.
  11. I’m interested to know how you were keeping track of your strokes lost? Do you journal like Fitzpatrick? I have never really analyzed critically where I am gaining and losing strokes.
  12. Has anyone tested out the new Scotty Super Select putters? I almost pulled the trigger on a Newport 2 Special Select, then I saw the newer version came out. Is there much of a change besides the higher price?
  13. Theegala is so talented, he reminds me of Cameron Smith with his ability to go on a birdie run. Just a matter of time until he wins
  14. I was most excited to watch the Fitzpatrick brothers and they have not disappointed. It is really cool to see this type of family dynamic in a real professional tournament. I love that they gave Alex an exemption, and after watching him play today he deserved it. Hope he makes it to the tour, because as fun as it was to watch them playing together, it would be amazing to watch them competing in a final pairing.
  15. I totally agree. If Tiger wants to play, it is his and only his decision. I love watching him play and while watching him during the 3rd round of the Masters was a little tough, I'll take hobbled Tiger over no Tiger.
