Here are some of my favorite superstitions: If you pull a tee out of the ground on a par three and it's a full (non-broken tee) that's bad luck. Any atypical animal seen on the course is good luck. Never let the ball touch the ground before you put it on the tee (if it falls off the tee or you drop it, use a different ball). If using a coin as a ball marker, use the same side up through the whole round. One of my favorites is from the superintendent at UMD who used to say if you are nice to the course it'll be nice to you (i.e., fix ball marks, clean up trash, etc). I do think it's a nice vibe.

Definitely! Agree with all of this!

I take the point that getting fitted is probably a bit over-rated. Not because they don't have benefits but because fitting is often talked about like it's an absolute necessity. Most people can play and enjoy golf without being fitted. That said, if you have a good fitter and can afford it, a fitting should help almost anyone. This is especially true for people who need longer/shorter clubs, grip size changes, lie angle adjustments (I think we all have that buddy who is 6'6" and plays off the rack clubs and struggles -- I've made a lot of money off my buddy like this until he got fitted! ) I do think the fitter really does make a huge difference.

Being forced to take a golf cart on a course that can be walked. I'll pay your @*#^ cart fee, but let me walk!
