  1. In keeping with others advice, definitely demo and try out a variety of clubs. Most Golf Galaxies and PGA SS’s have used sections where try out different clubs to see what you like. Once you have an idea, then there are numerous sites online where deals can be had. And yes, you can have a used set of irons fit to your specs, once you have found what you are looking for. The ZX5 and ZX7 are excellent irons
  2. This league will be like our VCT, in that participation is voluntary and you can compete weekly as it fits your schedule. There will be no penalty for missing a week or 3, just post as you are able
  3. Because there are a myriad of options available, I am working towards setting parameters that would apply regardless of the software. So that anyone with a SIM or access to a SIM can participate. Details to follow soon
  4. Since most of the sim don't incorporate putting, using proximity to the hole as a means to handicap might not be a bad idea. For example, Flight I sets a 5 foot 1 putt circle, Flight II sets a 10 foot 1 putt circle, etc.
  5. good morning all, Looking for feedback in the VCT for the following: have a grand friday
  6. As we prepare for our first season in the VSCT (Virtual SIM Champions Tour), the bones of the league are starting to form. While we add the finishing touches. I wanted to take this opportunity to ask a couple questions: Are you interested in participating? If so, reply to this thread. Are there any particular courses you would like highlighted? If so, drop them here with name and format i.e Rapsodo Courses, E6, etc. The format will be similar to how we do the VCT weekly, but if there are any tweaks or questions you would like to suggest, please feel free to do so here.
  7. There is a plan for a VCT Sim league in the works for the offseason. Details should be coming out in the next week or so
  8. Good Morning all, Starting Oct. 7th we will be having a Stableford Tournament in the VCT, here are the details: have a grand thursday
  9. End of Season Event With Season 3 coming to an end on Oct. 6th, we cordially invite all to participate in our end of season tournament. Here are the details: We are using a modified Stableford scoring system. The point systems is set up like this: Two or more over net par over par=0 points One stroke over net par=1 point Make a net par=2 points One stroke under net par=3 points Two strokes under net par=4 points Three strokes under net par=5 points Four strokes under net par=6 points Submissions will be similar to the previous VCT special tournaments. When you submit your scores, we will need a picture of your scorecard (or digital version) which has hole by hole handicap, par and their scores. We will also need the course rating and slope from the tees you played from. This event is open to any and all forum members that would like to participate. For those that haven't submitted enough (or any) rounds to be added to a flight, we will accept a screen shot of your GHIN handicap. Other handicaps submitted will be evaluated on a case by case basis. The schedule for this event is: VCT Season 3 ends on 10-6 10-7 to 10-13 narrow field to 30 10-14 to 10-20: narrow field to 10 10-21 to 10-27: Crown event champion
  10. Just to muddy the waters further, the readings it gives aren’t consistent game to game either. How far a ball goes in warm up varies from how far it will travel in the virtual golf, often with the same ball speed. It’s maddening.
  11. Oddly, the one near us seems to be affected by weather changes, because on back to back days with slightly different weather conditions, I’ve seen an average carry of 248 and the next day an average carry of 213. Ball speed was around an average of 153 for both days. Or maybe it’s just unreliable tech
  12. Week 21 & 22 Scoring Update With 2 Weeks remaining, get those scores in! An update for the end of season event will be posted in this thread today or tomorrow, so stay tuned!
  13. The post score button has been restored. Not sure why that glitch randomly happens since the migration to the cloud
  14. Thanks for the heads up, I will make sure it is reflected in the Week 21 & 22 scoring recap
  15. I used very similar logic this weekend to grab a GT-2 driver, GT-3 fairway, and Scotty Putter. It meant trading in my Ping Stockpile, but the club ho in me assures me it was worth it
  16. TPT has introduced a revolutionary putter shaft designed to improve stability, consistency, and feel, but is it worth the upgrade? We have specifically chosen golfers who already use a L.A.B. putter to test this out. They will be sent the exact same model of their current L.A.B. putter—same length, grip, and lie angle—but with the new TPT shaft. The goal is to compare the two side by side and determine if the TPT shaft offers significant improvements over the standard option. Key Features of the TPT Shaft: Stability and Control: Engineered to minimize twisting during the stroke, allowing for more consistent putts. Enhanced Feel: Designed to provide a smoother stroke and better overall feedback to the golfer. Comparative Testing: Testers will directly compare the TPT shaft to their current L.A.B. putter shaft, offering real-world feedback on whether the upgrade is worth the investment. What they will be testing: Dedicated L.A.B. putter users will take a deep dive into data comparison between their current putter and one equipped with a TPT shaft. They will focus on the differences in control, consistency, and feel to determine if the upgrade translates to better putting performance. This is an in-depth test meant for golfers who are willing to provide detailed feedback on their experience with both shafts. Please welcome and congratulate our testers. @ChiefMikeOfficer @MissionMan @cburins @Patrick Dawes
  17. Galway Bay is known for producing high-quality, all-weather golf apparel, and we’re looking for four golfers to test their latest products. You’ll be testing the Corrib Golf Rain Jacket, Claddagh Chino Rain Pant, and either the Cappagh Performance Hybrid Vest or the Foyle Performance Hybrid Mid-layer. These products are designed to protect golfers from the elements while ensuring comfort and performance on the course. The Corrib Jacket in particular includes changes that were direct results from feedback given in our previous Forum member review. So can these products live up to their claims of weather resistance, comfort, and mobility? Key Products: Corrib Golf Rain Jacket: Promises waterproof protection with breathability and stretch for easy movement. How does it hold up in heavy rain, and does it allow for a full range of motion during a swing? Claddagh Chino Rain Pant: Designed to keep you dry without sacrificing style or comfort. Does it really provide the mobility needed for a full round of golf in wet conditions? Cappagh Performance Hybrid Vest or Foyle Performance Hybrid Mid-layer: Testers can choose between these two versatile layering pieces, both aimed at adding warmth without compromising flexibility. Do they offer the right balance of warmth, breathability, and mobility on the course? The Testing Opportunity We have selected the following four golfers to test these products, assessing everything from comfort to how well they hold up in tough weather conditions. Your feedback will be shared with the MyGolfSpy community to help golfers understand if Galway Bay’s rain gear is worth the investment. Please welcome and congratulate our testers: @slash25rc @mwade4040 @RajMahal @djahubes
  18. In the interest of accuracy, it is more reactionary than a plan. "oh, that's nice. What do I currently have that I am willing to let go, in order to make this mine?" and then acting on that impulse. In fact, always acting on that impulse.
  19. People actually plan their golf purchases? Hmm, that's a novel approach... Maybe I should try that
  20. Weeks 19 & 20 Scoring Update Apologies for the delay, weeks 21 & 22 will be posted tomorrow, along with the details for the end of season event that is coming in a few weeks
