  1. Watched it live last night and it was a blast! As a Ferrari fan I can't complain about a 1-2 finish!
  2. Good morning spies! Another chilly day today as our weekend getaway to Michigan continues. Some snow on the ground after some light flurries yesterday. No big plans on the agenda today. Going to relax as much as possible and maybe take a nap later today to prepare my body for the F1 race at midnight. Hope everyone has a great Saturday and if you're golfing, hit 'em straight!
  3. So sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
  4. Short game for me and it's pretty much a no brainer. My ball striking and consistency off the tee has improved tremendously even over the last year, but I've always been good with my hands. Anything 100 yards and in, around the green, and putting is how I used to save strokes when the other stuff was failing me.
  5. I finally booked my tee time at Tobacco Road this week for our Pinehurst trip in October. Getting that email confirmation had me feeling like a kid awaiting Christmas morning. Hope you enjoy!
  6. I'm going to need a nap on Saturday for sure if I'm gonna make it! Our plan is to watch it live but that's way past my bed time
  7. Good morning spies! Vacation starts today as we arrived late last night to our AirBnB getaway in middle-of-nowhere, Michigan. The AirBnB itself is beautiful and has lots of room for the three dogs to run around. My dog doesn't get to socialize often, so he's over the moon. Should be a pretty low-key day, with no real plans on the agenda. We might hit up a brewery in town and grab some more groceries (beer) for the house. Was able to catch the Valspar Championship for a bit yesterday. Fun fact, Kevin Roy (currently solo 2nd) is a good family friend. Will be rooting for him to keep shooting low this weekend! I hope everyone has a great Friday!
  8. I think wedge stamping is such a cool part of the "new era" of golf. I really wanted to get stamps on my new wedges, but couldn't justify spending nearly the price of another wedge on it. Potentially will do some after-market stamping if I can find a good deal. Similar to @GolfSpy_APH, I'm not overly familiar with it, but would love to learn more.
  9. Good morning spies! Today is my Friday, as my wife, my dog and I are headed to an AirBnB in Michigan for a weekend with some friends and their dogs. Should be very relaxing and will be nice to get away from the city for a few days. Very exciting day as the Valspar Championship and March Madness begin (also can't forget about the Community Call this afternoon!) A huge congratulations to Jamie @GolfSpy_APH on his HQ recognition. You do so much for this forum and have made this community what it is today. Well deserved, my friend. Onto my second cup of coffee and a busy day ahead! Hope everyone has a great one
  10. Good morning spies! Another colder day in Chicago as temps dropped over night from the 50s to the 30s. I was able to get to the range after work last night to take advantage of the one nice day of the week. Another busy day at work followed by a simulator session tonight with a friend. Should be fun and will be nice to get some more swings in. @Dead Solid Bogey wishing you best of luck with everything. Your sense of humor has been a warm light each morning on this thread and I'm glad to see this situation hasn't hindered your spirit. @Erin B sending positive vibes to you and your wife. Fingers crossed for a good result. @BreakfastBall15 good luck with the recovery! Maybe you can mix in some ice cream too if they cold doesn't bother the area Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!
  11. A big congrats to the testers selected! Excited to follow along and see what y'all think!
  12. Good morning spies! Another chilly morning in Chicago, but luckily getting into the mid-50s later today. Getting pretty tired of this cold weather so if Mother Nature could hurry up and bring the sunshine and warmth, it would be greatly appreciated by golfers everywhere! Nothing big planned for the day. I'm eagerly awaiting my new TaylorMade MG4 wedges so I have been refreshing the order status page multiple times per day. Will hopefully be here by the time the weather shifts in late March/early April. I've never had new wedges before so I'm excited to try them out! I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
  13. Welcome to the best thread on the Forum! I'm headed to the Pinehurst area later this year as well. For trips like these, I always try to put performance out of mind and simply enjoy the time with friends and the beauty of the courses! Hope you have a great time
  14. Good morning all! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I was able to get to the simulator last night after the end of The Players. Felt good to get some swings in and my game is feeling pretty good. Unfortunately, the weather here in Chicago (and most of the midwest) has slipped back to winter after the "Spring of Delusion" graced our presence the past couple weeks. On a positive note, today is my grandma's 99th birthday! She's still sharp as a tack and I've been very blessed to have her in my life for so long. It's a great day to have a great day!
  15. @Swood1994 going to echo this pick but also throw Nelly Korda in there as well. Two effortless swings that I wish I could copy and paste onto myself
  16. Good afternoon Spies! My final Mevo review is HERE! It was such a privilege being selected for this test. I have learned a ton about my own golf game and I hope that my review can help others out there that are in the market for a personal launch monitor. Thank you again to the MGS Staff for the opportunity!
  17. Good morning Spies! Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! Celebrated yesterday with a couple pints of Guinness. No real plans on the agenda today, besides watching The Players and getting in a simulator session this evening. Hoping for an exciting finish to the tournament! @Josh Parker happy birthday to your daughter! I hope she has a great day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday and may golf be a part of it! Sláinte!
  18. I would say anything north of 7000 is likely too long for me. I typically try to stay around 6500 or so, but occasionally have played courses around 6800 and have held my own. I wouldn't mind trying to see how I fare on a 7200 course, but my guess is that it wouldn't be pretty haha
  19. Good morning all! It's the St. Paddy's day celebration in Chicago today. I likely won't make it downtown to view the green river, but that's okay. I've seen it plenty of times and I'm sure will see lots of pictures later. Hoping to go to the driving range in a little bit this morning. It's fairly chilly out (low 50s), but not terrible with the sun being out. May try to catch some of The Players as well. Would be nice if some people could challenge Wyndham to make it a bit more interesting. Going to meet up with some friends later today for some St. Paddy's festivities (aka green beer and shenanigans). May golf be a part of your day!
  20. Ping hoofer seems to always be at the top of these lists. Definitely was considering one before I decided to go with my MNML MV2. Would've been cool to see mine included in the article, but I get why it was excluded. Don't think you can go wrong with Ping or Sun Mountain for stand bags.
  21. Golf's dress code is definitely outdated, but I do believe in still having one. If certain courses/clubs want to enforce rules that fit their aesthetic, I'm not opposed. I would say I'm more of a traditionalist in that I'll typically always wear a polo if I'm playing. In recent years at public courses without stricter codes, I've ditched tucked-in shirts and opted for the occasional hoodie over a quarter-zip. But I think at the end of the day, people can wear whatever makes them comfortable as long as it's within the rules of the course they're playing.
  22. I would say it's between an 8 and a 9 iron for me. 9 iron in perfect conditions, probably a knockdown 8 otherwise.
  23. Good morning spies! Weather is much colder in Chicago today, but at least no rain in the forecast. This weekend is the St. Paddy's celebration in Chicago, which is always a good time. The river gets dyed green, drinks are flowing, live music and plenty of craic! Going to be watching a lot of The Players this weekend. Should be a good test as the greens get quick and the wind picks up. In other exciting news, I just put in an order for a brand new set of Taylormade MG4 wedges. I'm extremely overdue for an upgrade and I'm thankful to MGS for opening my eyes to the other great wedges out there besides Vokeys! I hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend celebrating St. Paddy's. Slainté to all!
  24. This is such a cool opportunity. Shoutout to the MGS staff and Bridgestone for putting this together! My regular gamer is the Bridgestone B XS and what do you know... the golf ball fitting agreed! Really love the mindset approach to golf and looking forward to seeing how it can improve my game!
  25. Good morning spies! Very excited to watch The Players all weekend. Will have it up most of the day on the side while I attempt to get some work done. Weather is very rainy all day in Chicago. Going to be living vicariously through those of you golfing today. Might attempt to hit up a simulator either today or tomorrow after work, but we'll see. Happy Community Call day as well! Always a treat on Thursdays. Hope to see some of you there! Enjoy your Friday eve!
