  1. Arccos - lifetime subscription (I would not go for a subscription if I had to). I have really enjoyed it. After 4 years on grips, the sensors on some of my most used clubs are starting to have too much give. Feel like I have to check and screw before each shot. Part of the routine now but not ideal. May be time to replace my grips! im curious to know how others who have switched systems were able to retain and use their data from the old platform.
  2. Yay on weekends. I’m in Orlando and weekend rounds are awfully slow here. Cannot play too seriously so let’s sprinkle in some fun and music! Nay during the week or if play is fast enough.
  3. I watch a couple of things: golf sidekick for course management for high hcp. He’s applying the approaches playing as a lefty to prove a point these days. once in a while I will watch a video on short game. I avoid swing videos like the plague. playing videos used to be fun to watch but now they are all the same over bromancized format. product reviews have become uninteresting too. Every piece is “the best club you did not know of” - not much criticism. Feels like everyone is sponsored.
  4. I finally got to try the mindset approach. It didn’t work for me. I guess I am comfortable with my routine (similar to the mindset stuff anyway) but when I stepped up at address , the mindset logo created a mental distraction. I had a voice in my head questioning if I had done the 3 things properly. It broke my concentration. i like the ball, though. I received BRXS and I like the feel and quality but spins a bit much for me. I used to play BRX and will probably give them another try next season. very appreciative of Bridgestone for giving the chance to try these out!
  5. Balls received - First impression: big smile on my face. Not often I receive 12 premium balls at that cost! Looking forward to trying the mindset trick.
  6. If a putter is well made, good materials and parts (for everything, including shaft and cover), I don’t mind paying over $500. What I hate is paying for poor quality. Putter head cover is interesting: if I pay a lot of money for a putter, I expect attention to detail, including the cover. Not some faux leather s**t that falls apart after 3 months. it’s just indicative of the care manufacturers have for their products and customers.. I know the headcover is not what I’m buying.. i also don’t like being judged for how much I pay for my stuff. My fun, my bills. Not asking anyone to pay for me.
  7. Person riding with you escapes at the end of the round leaving you to return the cart so that he does not tip the cart boys. Folks I have never met before who think I care about how good they usually play but today is an exceptionally bad day. Negative vibes on the course. C’mon dude, you’re outside and away from the everyday grind, relax! people not picking up food wrappers, empty bottles, etc. when sharing a cart, the other person is messy and/or taking the whole storage in the back
  8. I’m a bogey player. The caddy’s recommendation try to get me to par, so always driver off the tee and/or long approaches. I think it would be more useful if we could set a target score fore the round and let the AI do some magic across the complete course, based on my goal. another useful feature would be to “save” a game plan. Use the caddy to plan your round at home, then save the strategy, maybe some notes (The Grint has this), then pull them in round. Thoughts?
  9. Hi there, more and more premium bags (vessel, the new ogio, etc.) use a faux leather as the main material. I like the look but it is making me pause: Florida’s hot and humid weather claimed the life of all my headcovers made with similar material.. does anyone have experience with these bags in similar weather conditions for more than a couple of years?
  10. Give the Srixons a try. I picked over a couple others because of sound/feel and looks at address. All together make me feel more confident. Stupid game..
  11. I’m in the NO category. TV golf is boring, especially PGA. Commentary is stuffy, makes me think of the smell of mothballs in an old sweater drawer.. LIV gets it a little better, a bit more dynamic, takes itself less seriously. LPGA is a bit more interesting, I feel I can learn more from watching them. at the end of the day, whenever I watch, I feel “forced” to watch big events because I am a golfer. But I really don’t care and switch off. i think they need something to tell a full season story. Not just each event. Other sports have a meaningful full season. Golf has this Race to FedEx (whatever that means), which has no weight. LIV has the format right (or at least better) but the folks who run the PGA tour are probably too snob to acknowledge their product is for a tiny portion of the population. They’re missing a big opportunity by focusing on US only. The Ryder Cup’s format brings excitement like no other event. Why not more team competitions? As I write all this, I realize LIV has a good number of things right: condensed field, world tour like F1, team events, simple to follow season competition, soon to come in-team drama. I just need to find what channel it’s on!
