  1. Because he looks like a trapeze artist hitting the golf ball, but he's by far the best iron player on Tour. Wild combo.
  2. Not 4 in a row, necessarily, but this kind of dominance happens fairly regularly on the LPGA Tour relative to the PGA Tour. Annika, Lorena Ochoa, even Yani Tseng (won 7 times in 2011) have had dominant years that we haven't seen from anyone but Tiger in recent times on the PGA.
  3. 1st Tie Breaker CUT Number: +3 and better make the cut 2nd Tie Breaker: Low Amateur: Stewart Hagestad Wedges: 50.08 F - RAW Finish 54.10 S - RAW Finish 58.08 M - RAW Finish
  4. I just grabbed him some old i5's for $100 still in good shape - cut them down about 1". Will definitely be good for a year and when he finishes his growth spurt, will upgrade him in a couple years. If he gets the bug, he can accelerate the timeline.
  5. Call it what you want - what's that, 8 degrees of toe hang? I said face balanced, but really meant a mallet with more stability.
  6. So Scottie went to a face balanced putter - 5th in putting in the tournament and 17/17 inside 15 feet in the last round. (mic drop)
  7. The ball moved. The yellow line is lined up over the same blade of grass. The PGA does not like calling these because they know it's not fair to everyone on the course when only guys in contention get these kind of camera angles. That being said, guys mashing the grass then changing clubs is an open secret in professional golf.
  8. Has anyone become less likable more quickly than Wyndham Clark has the last 24 hours? Dude CLEARLY cheated using the old wedge mash and his ball moved on 18, then pretended he had no idea and was saved by the rules official. Then says the Tour should only be 100 players (I'd actually be on board with that) when 2 years ago he was #118 and really benefitted from the weaker fields created by the LIV exodus.
  9. Are there any good apps or relatively inexpensive options for putting analysis (arc, face open/closed angle, etc.)? Not looking to drop $600 on the Puttr AI mat or more "professional fitting" devices - just something to use in my basement.
  10. I think Padraig Harrington offers the best advice around the green - lookup his YouTube videos. The biggest key is KEEP IT SIMPLE. Weight on your front foot and let the club do the work. If you can putt - putt. I'm a 7 handicap and it's not beneath me to grab the putter if I'm 10-15 feet off the green and can putt it - as they say, your worst putt is always better than your worst chip. Greenside in the rough, I try to emulate my putting stroke as much as possible - Scheffler and Stricker are this way as well, keep their arms locked through the chip - versus someone like Mickelson who is all over the place.
  11. As a long time Newport Mil-Spec player, it looked natural to me - same alignment line.
  12. I'm an admitted Scotty Cameron *****, but was at the Michigan Golf Show and they were selling the late model Bettinardi BB-1F for 1/2 off. I've never seen such a good finish on a putter - almost like a gun barrel in color/sheen. Couldn't pass picking one up - it's so CLEAN looking. The neck is a little different than Cam Smith's Scotty, but very reminiscent of it.
  13. They launched I think 2 years ago - located in Northville, MI. The founders are a Dad and his sons and, from what I remember, he owned a milling company and milled parts for the auto industry. When he retired, they basically started it as a passion project. They sell them at Carls Golfland. The feel good, but they look a bit basic as far as the fonts, etc. Hard market to crack.
  14. Napped the Iced Arnie blade cover from SWAG - I'm a sucker for a good headcover
  15. My son outgrew his junior clubs and I want to pickup a used set for him. He's not a really avid golfer (may become one!) so I just want to get a decent set of used clubs for under $200 for him (5 or 6-PW). He's not big kid - 5'4" probably 110 lbs - just looking for something easy to hit, but also not looking like shovels. I'll piece together the rest of the set from wedges and putters I have laying around and get him a driver and hybrid. Any suggestions?
