Shaned888RTR got a reaction from GolfSpy_BNG in *Opinion: New Titleist Drivers, Ugly or New thing of Beauty?
I have tried to like the Titleist driver ever since the 915 series. In my opinion they all are ugly and unplayable. I just don’t get along with them.

Yes I do have a higher flight with the non premium balls. I also hit the other balls with plenty of height, my main issue is fear of missing something with the opposite of the 1 I’m playing haha. My 10 year old is very good, always had played adult clubs and V1X. Thank You both for responding I just need to make myself play with the same ball for at least a week to see the difference.

Do the non pro-v balls fly higher off your irons? That is the case for me. If i am hitting a shag bag of balls i can tell the difference immediately by ball flight between the super softs and e12's and noodles compared to the pro-v's and snells and tp5x's.
Other than that i am super impressed your 10yo has a 95 mph ss and i'd be hoping for a college golf scholarship for him!!

I haven't mixed balls like that since I was a young kid, but I highly respect the fiscal wisdom in playing exclusively with found balls.
I haven't managed a single digit cap for a while, and my game would probably not be affected by playing a Whitman's Sampler of golf balls. I just stick to one ball for as long as it's still made.
I played the original Spalding Top Flite it seemed forever.
When Spalding left the golf business, Titleist finally gave up on making wound balls
and I went with them. Timing.
The Pro V1x is a substantially different ball from the old Top Flite (the real ones, not the new ones from Dick's), and it's hard not to notice the difference in price. My game probably doesn't warrant such a premium ball, but I like to stick to the same thing and not think about it.
Then again, if I had your access to freebies, I might change my entire philosophy.

I live on a golf course and find all the golf balls I can play. Most people around here lose Prov and V1X. I also find Callaway supersoft and Srixon soft feels. I can not seem to settle on a permanent ball. I am 51 about an 8 handicap and have a 95 mph SS. I do hit the Titleist premium balls longer off the Tee and of course the short game is better. My main issue is it seems that I hit more greens with the 2 piece balls. Does that make sense? My 10 year old plays only Prov1x and thinks I’m crazy for ever changing balls ( we have about the same swing speed). Does anyone else have this problem?

I have the older set of Sub 70 699 pro irons. I also bought a set for my 10 year old son. We love them and cannot speak more highly of them. The company is fantastic to deal with and will answer any questions you have on the website. They are so easy to hit I almost wish I would have been brave enough to go with the CB models.
