  1. Seems like your OP is about speeding up the round. Slow rounds are not due to handicap or ability, they are due to a lack of etiquette and courtesy; Like not letting groups play through, acting like it's the final round of a tournament on every green, or taking an extra 5-10 minutes to tell a story on the tee box, as @vandylandstated. It's also crazy that these courses are having foursomes tee off 8 minutes apart on the weekends! No wonder things get backed up and take forever to finish a round.
  2. This reminds me, Also a good idea to record yourself on the range. Feel and Real are often two different things when you are working on a swing change.
  3. So glad to hear you say this! Was given a box of the Kirkland last year and just couldn't get used to the feel and I thought it was just me because of how many people you see playing them. When you say that the Diamond was the best within 30 yards, do you mean that from a spin perspective or feel?
  4. Another vote for getting a lesson.....but if you are not in a place to be able to get lessons, I would focus as much as you can on fundamentals. Stance (Everything square as @russtopherb mentioned), Grip, Aim, weight transfer, takeaway. The driver is incredibly hard to hit and the 3 wood isn't much better. I disciplined myself to leave the driver out of my bag till I was confident with my irons. I was breaking 90 consistently with taking a 5 hybrid off the tee and that was a lot more fun than hitting slices OB; that doesn't help you with your swing, but scoring lower definitely makes golf more fun. Not knowing your swing at all....I have seen this drill help quite a few of my buddies get rid of their hook https://www.tiktok.com/@darins_wedge_work/video/7207972426322529582 But again, One lesson will save you hundreds of dollars on range balls, lost balls during the round, lost bets, and clubs broken over your knee...
  5. Ordered new Sub 70 Wedges. JB full groove in 54 & 58 LB. Put in the order 11 days ago and still waiting for them to ship. Having to tell myself, "Good things come to those who wait".
  6. Played my local executive course. Had to get up and down a ton the first 12 holes as my draw wasn't drawing and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Finally, on hole 13 realized I was crowding the ball and not giving myself enough space...Shot even par the rest of the round with a few missed birdie putts. Normally sort that stuff out on the range pre-round but with range balls getting so expensive I skip the range then have a frustrating front 9... Golf is hard.
  7. @WaffleHouseTour Skillest is very intriguing, especially for full swing coaching. There are so many coaches on there, how did you decide who to go with? @Louis_Posture Your point of being a PGA player makes sense if I am wanting to get on tour and play professional golf. I am sure they understand what it means to be under pressure and the intricacies of PGA, but just because they can shoot 5 under doesn't mean they can teach me to play like that. If you look at the top 50 teachers in America, it's pretty clear how few of them actually played on tour and they seem to be able to charge hundreds of dollars an hour.... @Old New Golfer Thank you for the suggestion! I am going to look him up.
  8. I am dead serious, I really want to buy that bag! Thanks for testing it out, I look forward to your review!
  9. I am currently looking around for some lessons. There are quite a few here in SoCal, ranging from club pro's to GolfTech to GolfGalaxy. Would love some insight on the following points from those of you who have taken lessons or are instructors. Is on course or sim/monitor better? What about online lessons? Same Value? How long of a lesson is necessary? Packages from some of these instructors range from 30 min to 90 minutes. Not sure if more is better? How often should I be planning on seeing an instructor? Can 1 coach tackle every part of my game or should I be looking at instructors for specific areas such as short game & driving? Also, If you are near the Inland Empire and have some specific suggestions on coaches please, let me know!
  10. Many people putt left hand low for long putts and right hand low for longer putts (I am one of them). If you take time to putt one handed with each hand, it will show you which hand is causing your line issues and can influence the grip, for some it's the left and others the right. This would make sense for the left handed putting, as it would have the opposite hand being dominate. That is also why you see some guys go to claw to remove the influence of a specific hand. Just a theory.
  11. Depends on green speeds as well for me. Lately I have been playing some little par 3 courses with my buddies and they have painfully slow greens; it's fun to fly it all the way to the pin with a 56 since there is almost no rollout. If green speeds are faster, I will generally try and hit GW, PW, or 8i.
  12. The 7 wood absolutely changed my game, so much so that I would love to try a 9 wood. I actually don't really think of my 3 wood and 7 wood in terms of gapping anymore, I can get almost the same carry with both of them, but completely different ball flight and the 3 rolls out. Hitting greens with the 7 wood has to be one of the most satisfying things I have ever experienced in golf.
  13. So thankful they didn't go with this branding. Honestly, feels like they are just so confident in the technology they didn't need to make it look crazy different or give it some ridiculous name. Thanks for the review not just on the club but on the fitting.
