  1. Absolutely makes sense, great explanation. At the risk of being a PITA, can you give me some examples of fascia stretches for the lower body? Just tried the tricep stretch. That rush at the end is really enjoyable.
  2. In the "golf workout" thread, you mentioned fascia stretching and joint stretching. Can you elaborate on the differences and offer some examples of good fascia stretches? Thanks in advance- -Matt
  3. You could probably get set up pretty nicely for under $200. Just like stamping, you don't start out on your own clubs. If you're going to start grinding, raid the used wedge bin at a golf store and make a mess of those.
  4. I imagine that it's possible that grinding a wedge could be the only skill you have, if it's the only thing you're interested in, but generally the answer is: No. For example, I pull and install shafts, do grips, I've messed with stamping, but I have not graduated to grinding. It requires some equipment that I don't have and a good bit of trial and error, I assume. For me, it's best left to the professionals.
  5. Sactown, you've been holding out. First the pics of the Bullseye collection, now these. Are we going to see a complete putter collection thread sometime soon?
  6. Actually having the stitches removed from getting fixed, and more shots. Thanks for the compliment. Here's a fixed version of the pic, I hope. If it's ok with the mods, I will start a thread showing a complete range of my work in the Putter section.
  7. Argh, foiled again by overly large pictures! I'll fix this later, I'm off to the vet.
  8. Here are 3 that I built for Byron Morgan. I'll try to get some pics into my signature at some point.
  9. Thanks for the info. It's nice to learn more about the history of companies and clubs sometimes, not just the newest and flashiest.
  10. Sorry to continue the work talk, but this is something that my wife (a school psychologist) and I talk about all the time. My understanding of the education systems in many European countries is that, based on your skills in various fields, and possibly your preference, you are guided towards training in a particular field. That might be a college/academia, that might be carpentry, might be anything. If we have any European members who could speak to this first hand, I would really like to know more about it.
  11. In my area, the residency discounts are based on what town you live in, so this is the cheapest for me: http://www.poplarcreekcc.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=28 I like the fact that the rates slowly go down throughout the day.
  12. I'm going to be very interested to see what these cost when they come out, how many are released, and how much they go for on the resale market. Anyone else think that Scotty is going to make enough so that there isn't much of a resale market? If I were him, and people were forking over $1K a piece, I'd be making them until people stopped buying them.
  13. I teach high school history and coach golf and basketball. And I do woodworking, but that's more "to support my golf addiction" than "for a living".
  14. They are exclusive to another golf forum. They cost more, but they make you hit the ball 350 on the fly. Just a bit of fun, of course.
  15. That's a good line...I may have to use that one also if I start building a stockpile like yours. I guess I also need to have kids, too.
  16. That's quite a stockpile. I'm a "sell what I'm not using" guy, with the exception of putters and my first set of irons, not by choice as much as out of a need to fund the new purchases.
  17. This thread makes me want to run to the used club bin to buy some raw wedges just so I can play with a propane torch. Note to the author of this DIY: my wife hates you, or at least she will pretty soon.
  18. I coach basketball, which I'd do even if I wasn't paid, so I'll call it a hobby. I spend lots of time with my new dog and with my wife. And of course, building stuff like this:
  19. I like Kashi bars and/or trail mix. Only gatorade or water to drink. I take golf & drinking too seriously to mix the two.
  20. Thanks for the props. I do think these cases are cool in that you can adjust them from holding HCs to putters, and I think you can even do a little of both. The thing I don't really get (personally) is the idea of locking them up. I guess some people display their stuff in their office, in which case this makes sense, but if you're that worried about it getting stolen why bring it there in the first place?
  21. For me, I'm perfectly happy with 14. If I could carry more, I probably would, but I don't know that it would help me. If I had the chance, I'd like to add a 64* wedge and possibly a thriver (13* driver) for days when the big stick is out of control.
  22. Those Gauge Designs are sharp...like, put your eye out sharp. My favorites are the Mizuno MP-67's, though I'm also rather partial to these oldies:
  23. Is there any chance that we could get some "in progress" pictures and some descriptions of the equipment that you used to do this? Thanks- -Matt
