Looking forward to the Tour Striker and V-Harness!

  3. Identity Belts is offering all spies 3 belts for the price of 2. Use promo code: ISpyBelts

  4. I chose Mizuno, but my bag is pretty mixed. TM driver & hybrid, Mizuno irons, Scratch wedges, Bettinardi or Byron putter. Open to most things, but these are the brands that have consistently performed for me.
  5. Very creative indeed. I wonder what they feel like and how they perform. What kind of headweights are we looking at with these?
  6. MGS, please do not try to be like anyone else. This forum and blog are the best because you're different, we definitely don't need more of the same. As far as the haters...well, if you've got haters, then you must be doing something right, IMO.
  7. This is tremendous. I really like all the raw data and being able to narrow it down to the just the clubs I'm interested in. If I could offer one "complaint," I would have liked to know how forgiving each iron was on mis-hits (perhaps show a distance dispersion). Great review overall, thanks, MGS!
  8. We took the clubs as a trade-in. The person working the register was not as familiar with equipment as they could/should be. Some of the fakes were pretty good, some were obvious. Oh well, life in the big city.
  9. Excellent point, Tyk. Unfortunately, my shop got slammed with a whole pile of counterfeit clubs last week. Nothing to do but eat the cost because we don't want the rep of selling fake clubs.
  10. For those half wedge shots that I referred to, I generally land the ball about 5 yards short (could be more or less depending on the green). I have read many comments on this thread about playing this ball to release, and I have no doubt that the performance is very consistent. For me, however, this shot is something that I practice a lot and use quite a bit on the course, so I don't have a strong desire to re-work it. As I said, in all other aspects this ball is a very strong performer and I am very impressed with it.
  11. Well, whaddya know, I actually got to PLAY GOLF today. And, as payment for my drought, I got to play at Beverly CC. I brought out the sleeve of X3's to see if they were up to the test. I will keep my review pretty simple: Driver: Good. Similar length to most balls the I've played, and seemed to be quite straight. A couple slices, but that was my knee, not the ball. The ball did perform well in the wind, which there was plenty of today. Seemed to fly on a lower trajectory than other balls. Irons: Satisfactory, though perhaps a bit short. Not sure about this, but a couple shots didn't seem to get to my normal distances. Could have also been a gust of wind. Putting: Good. Greens ranged from quick to wet & slow, but I putted well on all of them. Wedges: This is where the ball fell out of contention for a gamer spot. On short chips (10 yards or less), the ball is fine. On half wedge shots (40, 50, 60 yards) which are my favorite & my specialty, this ball does not spin enough. I hit my best shot of the day (36 yard chip) and watched it roll 10 feet past the hole. Misc: The ball doesn't seem to cut, but it does scuff a bit, and seemingly does so easily. After 1 or 2 holes, the ball had that scuffed feeling to it. Not a major problem, and it didn't impede my play, just an odd thing that I noticed. FINAL POINT: The glove still f***ing rocks. Going back to a regular glove would probably be a rude awakening after having this much tack and grip. I will be playing Sunday and then next week Saturday, so more reviews will come.
  12. I took Pinky and the X3 out to the putting green this morning for a little pre-work practice. Having found the Penta to be too soft, I returned to the TP Black as my comparison ball. I found both the X3 and Pinky to be within a whisper of the TP Black in terms of softness of the putter, and it was just about perfect. There was a nice crisp note of feedback, but nothing harsh at all. Judging distance was very easy. One surprise was that off the wedges, both balls felt more solid than crisp. More of a "thunk" than a "click." Still waiting to actually play golf...maybe Sunday...
  13. I finally got out to the range today and was able to test the glove. In one word: GREAT. First of all, it's great when it's dry. Lots of tack in the glove allows you to relax the grip a bit. The club has been getting squirrely in my hands at the top lately, but not today. Second, nature decided to really test this glove by giving me a downpour in the middle of my range session. The glove did not slack a minute, it shrugged off the rain and kept my hand glued to the club. Glove: A+ Now if I could actually go out and PLAY GOLF, I could test these balls. Stupid work.
  14. After 8 hours on my feet, I wasn't up for a very long practice/test session today but I will report what I learned. I brought out the Russell and the Tour Sample along with 2 Pentas. As much as I thought I loved the Pentas, I think that they are a little too mushy on the green. The Russell I think is just right. If the Penta was a 10/10 on softness (which was too soft for me), Russell was about an 8 and the Tour Proto was a 6.75. I also chipped a bit and found the performance of both to be very satisfactory. Again, not a ton of time spent or info gathered, but it was the start of what will be a very long, but enjoyable, process.
  15. I got home from work today and found my package waiting on the table. I was very excited at the contents (even though I'd seen the pics of others' boxes): 18 balls, hat, visor, glove, stickers, towel, hat clip...and I might be forgetting something. Really unbelievable. My wife asked, "How did you get all that for free?" Very preliminary review: I carpet putted each of the balls tonight against the Penta (which is the standard bearer for how a ball feels off a putter, it's absolute butter). I can safely say that each of Boz's balls more than held its own against the Penta and the tour ball was virtually indistinguishable. Based on the putter, I would have no problem putting any of these balls into play. I am hoping that I will be able to get these out for a little short game work one evening this week. I will be sure to report back when I do.
  16. Just checked my tracking info again and my package was out for delivery today but the truck was in an accident! I hope everyone was ok. USPS really needs to learn from TNT about how to do package tracking.
  17. Man, that is a serious care package! I can't wait for mine to arrive.
  18. Boz, I got the tracking email from TNT last week and I've been anxiously clicking it every day to see it inch closer. I should have it in time to possibly (depending on how testing goes) put it into play for my biggest event of the year. It would definitely be a conversation piece if I won with a bright yellow ball, and that ball would get to retire into my trophy case.
  19. Played at my godfather's club today, which was great. Shot an 83 which included: multiple greens missed with 8-PW (though no really bad swings), lots of putts made, reasonable short game, and suspect driving. I played Friday also, at a club in NW Indiana (Youche Country Club). It was a scramble and my team, which bought only 1 mulligan, lost by 2 strokes to a team with many mulligans. I made a solo eagle which ended with a ridiculous rollercoaster 40 footer plus another 30 footer and a lot of putts from 10' and in.
  20. Very glad to hear that the back pain is gone, buddy.
  21. I went out and played a par 3 course with my buddy today. First time the "new" swing has felt really good. Hit 6/9 greens with 0 bad shots (just a couple odd bounces) and shot +2. Had fair putts to get up and down on two of the greens, just didn't quite make them. Very nice overall and a good shot of confidence going into 2 important rounds this weekend.
  22. Just got back from Whistling Straits. Very long day (started drive up at 4AM) but fun.
