  1. Missed a 5 footer that would have made a 79. Played with a few new guys today and of course my nerves got the better of me for the front 9. Then shot even on the back 9... lve got to figure out a way to keep my nerves from blowing up my game. It seems to have gotten worse over the last year...
  2. Played well except for the streak of 5 bogies in a row for a 77
  3. The stat that jumps out at me is the “missed short”.
  4. My shot of the day today had to have been my green side bunker splash to within 12” to save par. I really had to take a half swing and just clear the upper lip, and then it dribbled down to the cup. I shouldn’t have been in there anyway after a killer drive which left me 104. I don’t know why I swung the SW instead of the gap W. But it all worked out in the end...
  5. Sheesh- that’s a bomb period. For me to get it 290, I need warm, dry, downhill, and with the wind. But every now and then..... bam!
  6. On a cool and overcast morning I had a great round, 37/38...75 had a real stiff neck so I had a very short backswing, but it’s almost like that helped my game. That score included 3-3putts, and 3 - 1putts. Had a nice sandy too. They did punch the greens, but they used the small holes, so I can’t say that it affected my putts that much...
  7. Interesting... my guy didn’t even tell me they had a LST in the 3-wood! But, maybe because the balls I was hitting didn’t show a need? regardless, yes- they are very confidence building clubs ...
  8. Chipped in from about 5 yards off the green, but the cool part is that I chipped in last week from almost the exact same spot. And I chipped in on another hole a few games ago too. Not my strength so quite happy about all of them!
  9. Yea, I got the itch for a new 3 wood. I keep hearing the f9 is the deal too. But man, this g410 was sooooo easy to hit
  10. So after about 40 rounds with my raw wedges, I thought I’d pass a few thoughts. “the wedges will kill”- haha ... reference to “Forged in Fire” They are sharp on the leading edge, but have a decent amount of bounce, 10°, and 12° on the 54°, to help not digging to China. They spin! A lot actually, which on my hard greens is good news. They’ve now become “broken in”, so the spin isn’t quite so vicious anymore. And they’re so versatile for whatever shot you want to play. final verdict is a very positive “heck yea”, these wedges not only feel fantastic, they look fantastic, and they perform fantastic. Two thumbs up without a doubt!
  11. The Ping van came to our club today and I worked with a real cool dude named Josh Patty. I hit a few different irons but as usual, didn’t hit anything I liked except the i500 irons. They seemed pretty good.. I was a bit tired as I had just completed my 36th hole for the day, so I can’t be too critical of any of them. but the real surprise was hitting the 3-wood, the g410, and the sft. I wasn’t on the “scope” so i don’t have distances, but, hit after hit went long and straight, and high. They felt fantastic! Really a crisp and hot face. Best of all it was so easy to hit. It’s really got me questioning my good old Callaway 815 big Bertha now. There was a pretty decent crosswind from left to right, which made it seem as tho I was hitting a soft fade. So Josh set me up with the same in a sft model and it then held tight against the wind. It might be too much draw without a wind but it really is an impressive 3-wood. It’s funny because I hit the “Callaway flash” 3-wood a month ago, and it didn’t give me a tingle down my leg like this one did. Not sure on distance either as this one was actually set at 16°, with an adjustment of 1.5° available either way, so I could play it anywhere from a 14.5 to a 17.5. So I guess it’s a 3-4 wood? Very, very interesting for sure. maybe 4 years of tech has made a difference in 3-woods after all...
  12. Had it going today with a 76 in the first round, and a 79 in the second. Still plagued with the occasional wayward shot which gave me a few more doubles today. But besides those, it was pretty solid. I benched my Evnroll in favor of the Tommy A, and it’s seeming to be very consistent in distance. Much more controllable (to me)...
  13. On and off. I just can’t seem to keep it rolling without jacking up a shot that blows up the hole now and then. It’s frustrating sometimes. like I start with 4 over on the first 3 holes, then -1 for 8 holes in a row, then back to back doubles, then par out...grrr
  14. Try the tommy armor... I just benched my evnroll for tommy
  15. That sweet spot looks about the size of the center bump...
  16. Played a ho hum round on Friday for an 83, but then played the back nine again at -3, and just missed two other putts. I was on fire!
  17. I dig them. I could see carrying the 8,9, and Pw. If they feel anything like the wedges, and why wouldn’t they?, it’ll be nice. 4-7 in the 639’s and I’ll be set
  18. 2 rounds today, shot decent. Highlight was 3 birds in a row, followed by two edge burners, and took a par
  19. It was the day of the approach shots, although the driver was a beast. But everything from a 7 iron in was money. shot of the day was a tie between a 140 into the wind (pic), or the 110 AWedge spun back to within a foot...(no pic)
  20. Another quick check in with the sub70 raw wedges. Starting to get nasty with these things...
