  1. new price (custom built for you, remember) divided by the number of times you hit each club, and brought you that JOY, every stroke, you've gotten your money's worth! Anything you get for them is doggone gravy!
  2. Forgive me if this has been covered already - I don't get on here a lot - or anywhere online a lot, so forgive me a second time. I'm 5'8" and shrinking - old age. from my putting stance - I tend to bend over so that my eye-line is directly over the centerline of the ball. I think that I need a 32" putter. Most commercial market brand putters come in 35", 34" is about the shortest most brands come in. And, the "angle" that most that I try out, even if the shaft were cut down to my level, and placing the bottom-line of the putter parallel to the ground, puts the shaft at about right between my knees - too far back. Even many center-shafted putters I've tried have the shaft angled so far back that I still have to hold the putter at an angle such that only about 1/4th of the (toe-side) of the putter is usable. I've tried to figure how the shafts could be bent to achieve this, but you know, it would be a messy funky looking contraption! My question is, can the hosel on typical putters be bent more upright? I've asked my LGS and of course they suggest getting a custom putter made, and offered one brand, but doggone it, $500+ is just too much to me.
  3. THANKS Chisag! I understand. Gosh, I probably have been doing it wrong all along! But, it's for sure I do a lot wrong Lack of playing/practicing time is a bummer. So, like a normal swing - out and around the front of one's toes. Not, like a shallow upright U.
  4. Please forgive my ignorance. When you're speaking of "arc" are you referring to a horizontal curve of the putter - starting - I'm exaggerating - back toward your trail foot, impacting at arc peak near center and farthest away from your toes, ending up near your leading toe? or are you speaking of a vertical arc, where - exaggerating again - the putter comes up in the air on the backstroke, is lowest to the ground at center of arc-impact and ending up in the air at the end of the stroke. My teacher tried to teach me to keep the entire back and forward stroke parallel to the ground. My putting misses are when I am not lined up properly, at least I think.
  5. Love my Mizuno (EZ) 7 wd - a favourite! It's getting mighty beat up - and am thinking of replacing it (Mizuno). The new Mizuno woods don't list a 7, but the 5fw is adjustable to 21deg! I'm going to try it as soon as weather allows. Also the new Fli-Hi's - supposedly better/more forgiving than the older ones - and four are available! An older Fli-Hi was my low line-drive on windy days.
  6. I'm a Miz nut, absolutely love them. These: doggoneitall, I had bought the 219's, and the MP20's last year, and honestly love them both. When local GS has them, I may think of trading in....wouldn't that be silly, but, my gosh! And, I can make the excuse that my (newest - at least a year old) wedges are scuffed up and possibly dull...... I'm stoked about the new (coming) Fli-Hi's too! NothingfeelslikeaMizuno!
  7. I'm kind of the same - the sad fact is I don't get to play much, and at age 71. Over the past few years, I've tried lots of balls - and really can't tell a lot of difference. But, I was delighted with the Mizuno 566V - and right under that in the plain 566. They don't feel like a rock, are fairly straight (yea, that driver slice still shows up but it wasn't as bad as with other balls), had plenty of stopping power on greens, and are reasonably durable - is three rounds asking too much? They aren't usually in Golf Galaxy, but you can get them direct from MizUSA - and are reasonably priced!
  8. I've been wanting a Mizuno (my choice of irons) iron - just the head - no shaft, that I can display on my desk. Is there anyone out there that would sell one to me reasonably? It would be kind of cool if it were a 1 or 2 iron (my story would be that I can't hit the darn thing, but one of these days...). I had thought about destroying one of my MP54's - but you know, I just can't bring myself to do it....
  9. I used Simple Green on a 2003 Ford truck bumper to clean off tar and general dirt - the chrome started flaking right after that. No, Ford wouldn't replace the bumper. And the transmission crapped out at under 40k miles. Don't use harsh cleaning soaps on chrome.
