  1. Usually just have two sleeves of new balls and a few balls that were taken out of play for wear or scuffs. Never was one to carry a bunch in my bag and keep a dozen or two in my truck at any given time.
  2. Went for an eye exam today and now trying to figure out how as I get older my vision is getting better? My prescription is now half the strength it was 10 years ago when I was in my late 30’s. The downside is in addition to getting new contacts I had to get new glasses as well.
  3. I like it a lot, very functional and high quality. I don’t carry anymore but it seems it would be fine for me if I did. The bag I have is the stand bag from the Vessel and TM collaboration. The only reason my wife picked it was because it has Grumpy on the side pocket. Overall seems like a solid bag that should last several years at least.
  4. When I was in Florida in April my wife got me a Vessel bag from the shop at Disney Magnolia. Had it dining room before I played on Saturday and my wife and daughters decided I needed new headcovers so I now have new head covers from Pins and Aces. Driver is the American Flag, three wood has flamingos and five wood is the Gadsden Flag. Each of the ladies picked a cover and think they did well.
  5. I choke down on every shot as my clubs are technically half an inch long for me. I have tried having them built half an inch short and couldn't adjust so I have stuck with having them longer for the last 20 years. With my wedges I have three different positions that I use with my hands to vary the shot.
  6. @IndyBonzo I am playing this as my three wood at 13.5*. I generally play a deep faced 3 wood or a mini diver in that spot and have for the last several years. I have zero issue pulling this club and hitting it off the deck into say a par 5. Only got to do it once yesterday and had no issue at all. Ended up just short of the green in the middle of the run up area.
  7. My hope of finally playing one round this year that was not in high wind and cold came true. I played in mildly cold temps with wind and rain . Actually played well and my short game saved me since the wind was just hard to read which made me come up short a lot. Ended up with a +1 73 for the day and it was just a grind that made me lean on the short game and putter. On a good note the mini driver is a keeper and hit it quite a bit off the tee including a 305 yard downwind bomb on a tight driving hole. Had I realized the wind would have hit it that hard I would have hit hybrid.
  8. Well my hope of getting a normal round in with the driver were quashed by rain and unpredictable high winds. Still slapped it around today in +1 and the driver has done all that I asked of it. From a setup standpoint I made two changes in that I put a similar HZRDUS Blue shaft in just in the PVD finish in TX and set it at standard loft in the upright setting. Something funny is today is the first day I noticed the graphics in the back edge of the crown. Very subtle and well done but then again also the first round and range session I have had in two months with any sun in the sky.
  9. Just got the new BRNR mini this morning on a whim. Plan to play the 13.5* as my three wood. Range session was good and will be giving it a go tomorrow on the course.
  10. Firmly in my bag at the moment. So much so that I pulled the LE Smoke Blue that I had and put it in the Qi10 LS.
  11. Big fan of the mini drivers and tried not buying this one but it looks so good. Funny that I hit the larger head better and more consistently off the deck than any three wood I have ever owned.
  12. Yep, in fairness to me I was not aware that they were in the store already.
  13. Went to Golf Galaxy this morning to grab a grip and ended up with the grip and the new TM Mini Driver. Love a deep faced fairway wood and this one is just pretty.
  14. Good morning Spies and Happy Friday. Weekend is almost here and I may actually get to hit a golf ball in normal weather this weekend. For the first time this spring it won't be freezing with 30 mph winds. Now to just get through one more work day and relaxation can begin.
  15. Have done the coffee with Butch a few times in his facility at Rio, highly recommend if you can swing it.
  16. I love the deep faced fairway woods. I had an X2Hot 3 Deep in my bag for years and when it finally wore out I went to a Big Bertha Mini 1.5 for a bit. Now that I am back up north I am hitting more three woods off the deck than the tee so I compromised and put an M5 in the bag lofted down to 14*.
  17. Son of the Reaper golf shaft by Tattoo Golf. https://sharkattackgolf.net/shop/tattoo-golf-shaft-son-of-the-reaper-jet-blue-245-cpm/
  18. I may be wrong but the back of the Qi10 Max looks the same as the Qi10LS that I have. As a general rule amongst manufacturers if the weight is not something that is supposed to be easily swapped they use a different size star pattern than the adjustment wrench. My Rogue ST Max LS was the same way and actually required a hollow tip star bit to remove the screws for the weight port in the back of the head. The Qi10 LS is just slightly smaller than an adjustment wrench but can be taken out with just a normal star bit. I have already swapped out the standard 2g weight for a 6g weight that I modified to 5g to get it to the desired swing weight. I posted this earlier but will post again. The screw for that weight port is held in with blue Locktite so a little bit of heat may be needed to remove the screw.
  19. On the hunt for a few sets of iron shafts. I have two sets of heads from Bridgestone that were given to me for builds. Both sets belonged to my buddy that passed away and just have not gotten to how to build them yet. Now that I am actually home full time I guess I should get working on them. One set is the J15MB and the other set is J15CB refinished in Black Ox.
  20. The wind and adverse weather on Long Island was something that I forgot about during my three years in Virginia. Up until March of this year I had not played a round of golf in NY in over two years. I more than likely won’t play a round of golf in NY in normal conditions for at least another month but at least I am getting to play some golf so there is that. The comment on indoor fitting is accurate and I refuse to be fit completely indoors. My golf buddies just call me stubborn and stuck in my ways but the data is only helpful if the equipment can perform on the course.
  21. A bit of a complex answer so bear with me. From a shear workability standpoint of curving the ball right and left it is hands down the TSR3. I have a drive that I like to hit that is a flat going draw that is next to impossible to hit with the Qi10 LS. I effectively have to smother the ball to do it and with the Qi10 LS that ball is not getting airborne. Now on the plus side that shot with the Qi10 is just essentially a draw which takes some trust for me to hit but can still do it with a change in mindset. Now from a flight window perspective the Qi10 wins hands down. I now realize that I like have a driver that I have to I elevate rather than a driver that I have to knock down in the wind. Simply just using tee height and ball position allow me to control tee shot height. The TSR3 to me is a more neutral driver overall and just easier to work the ball left and right but for me harder to hit low. The Qi10 starts with a lower flight with close to 20 feet less of peak height as compare to the TSR3. For reference I played my TSR3 lofted down .75* and 1* upright with the weight one notch towards the heel.
  22. Thanks and it was change of mindset. I was looking for something different than what I was getting while what I was getting was good. Looking forward to playing this driver when it is not cold, high winds and a wet golf course.
