  1. Better numbers, or a feel thing? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. Same thing here, all the balls I find go to my boy’s water ball bucket. Then when I take them (they’re 6 & 4), they insist on me teeing up 4 or 5 of them at each water hazard and letting them have at it. Gotta keep it fun... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. That’s great to hear! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. I suppose I failed to mention towel and a Milwaukee marker too. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. Not sure how many members here check out the podcasts, hopefully most, but I highly recommend the most recent one entitled "Has Callaway Golf Lost Their Mojo?" The Callaway discussion was interesting on its own, but for me the real jewel of the discussion is found in the overview of the shaft survey results and the "made for" shaft issue. If you're unfamiliar, here's a link to a 2017 article MGS released (by Chris Nickel) that I hope opened a lot of eyes...it certainly did for me. https://mygolfspy.com/made-for-shafts-a-closer-look/ There are a few outstanding questions the discussion leaves me with. 1) Outside of the general emotional reaction to a company attempting to dupe the consumer, should I care from a performance perspective? I get that a "made for" performs differently than the family of shafts it's painted to look like (see T800 vs T1100 in my Epic), but does different necessarily mean inferior? 2) Is every OEM doing this right now, or are there currently off-the-rack offerings that are giving us the real deal? Thoughts/insights anyone?
  6. Holy sh!t bro. I thought my bag was stuffed... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. Following. This is great stuff. Looking forward to that Planemate review, although after having picked up Super Speed the wife would go apesh!t if I bought another training aid. Keep at it! Hard work pays off.
  8. This is my basement putting green (surrounded by my kids Hot Wheels stuff). I can't recall the company that makes it; set me back about $1K after a military discount. I can look it up and pass on the info to anyone who wants it. From corner to corner it's a little over a 10 ft putt. My daily practice involves working on face control and start line. I set a goal of 40 3 footers in a row, and if I get to 33 (for example) and miss, I have to start over. Once I finish that I'll go to the 10 ft putt, set balls at varying distances, and jump around to vary the distance/speed. After that I'll do a lot of Stockton-style left hand only putts working on keeping the putter low to the ground all the way through the stroke. I sometimes struggle with speed based on contact with the ball at inconsistent heights on the face and the Stockton drill is an attempt to address that. Like everyone else on here, speed becomes an issue, in part I think because the speed of the practice green is so ingrained into me. I spend a LOT of time pre-round on the practice green trying to adapt to that particular course/green.
  9. White belts, and white pants, are great, work for a lot of different outfits, and a kind of uniform unique to golf. But, they up the first tee pressure...if you're announcing to the world that you're a golfer, you better have some game to back it up!
  10. I was cleaning out/sorting my bag a little while ago and it occurred to me...I wonder if I'm the only one that keeps this much crap in their bag. I have gotten feedback that my bag is on the heavy side; I suspect I'm packing away a bit more than the average golfer. Besides balls, tees, and gloves... - Bushnell Rangefinder and spare batteries. My kid likes to screw around with the rangefinder when I take him, and I was not happy when the battery died into my second hole one Saturday morning. - White and black frame Oakley’s - Some Trident, because Tiger was chewing gum at the Masters, so if I chew gum I'll play like Tiger, right? - About 30 ball markers and 6 or 7 repair tools. Ball markers are the one cheap souvenir I'll pick up at every new course. - Spike wrench and club wrench - Nike Thermal sleeves. Admittedly, these haven't gotten a lot of use. - Under Armour and Nike knit hats - Under Armour and Nike rain jackets (I have this weird thing where I hate mixing apparel logos...I know...) - Titleist cart mitts - Handwarmers - Military challenge coin from my first squadron - Absorbine Jr for gnat repellent Some of this stuff I only need for colder temps, but if I store it anywhere else I'll inevitably get questions from the wife who doesn't remember me buying that, and that, and that, if you get my drift. So, am I the overprepared weirdo? And, what else is in your bag?
  11. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. Still taking GolfTec lessons (infrequently) as well, I'm just not terribly patient with myself and it bugs me to shoot bad scores, even if I'm creating my own "turbulence" that will turn out to be for the good in the end. If improved consistency is to be found in the program along with clubhead speed then I am REALLY psyched. The Me and My Golf guys in their YouTube review of SuperSpeed also spoke to that...that the training seems to improve overall sequencing.
  12. Great feedback, thank you! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. Not an MGS tester so I really don’t want to hijack the thread, but I just bought the Super Speed system last weekend, based largely on what I’m reading in this thread and the previous test thread. Did my first Level 1 workout last night; my plan is to do it every MWF. That said, I am a little concerned about some of the feedback I’ve seen about spraying it once you actually tee it up, so I’m planning to do an Orange Whip session Tuesday and Thursday to try and preserve some tempo. Is that a bad idea? Will Orange Whip practices in between neuter the brain reprogramming that Super Speed is trying to do? I certainly don’t go all out with the Orange Whip, I just would like to still keep it in bounds when I play while working through the Super Speed protocols. But, I also don’t want to render the protocols worthless. Thoughts? (Again, hope this is okay to post here, don’t want to hijack anything.) Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Same here. It's a great training aid for tempo purposes, and a great way to warm-up.
  15. Until this year I played the bulk of my golf at a base course with a lesser budget for insecticides, so this was definitely an issue I had to address. Very hard to hole a 6-footer when a gnat flies into your nose. Give it a try and let me know, but I'm very confident it will do the trick. You may find yourself reapplying by the 12th or 13th hole, but it works. And you can put it on the back of your neck, but you're going to get that Icy Hot-like tingle if you put it on your skin.
  16. GP MCCs here. (No plus 4...not a fan.) I played Winn Dri-Tac for a long time and really liked them; felt like they held their tackiness well. But, they seemed to wear out pretty quick. Then I went to the Lamkin UTX Wrap, which I felt was significantly superior to the standard UTX. Now, MCCs all around, with the exception of Super Stroke grips on my 54 and 58...want something a little softer for feel.
  17. Just the gnats. Annoying to have to use two products I know, but in my experience I haven't found a bug spray that gnats are affected by at all.
  18. Get a bottle of Absorbine Jr pain reliever and dab it generously underneath the brim of your hat. Some crusty old guys taught me this last year and I was skeptical, but it works! Be careful with white hats though...can soak through and discolor it.
  19. I get it, it’s sucks. Missed what should have been my second season playing due to hernia issues. Just telling you what you already know...see a doc and get it taken care of before it becomes a permanent part of your life. My two cents; I feel for you man... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. Love it...”go to” club. Less offset than the average hybrid means it’s not a hook machine, but the face is plenty hot. At one time I might have regarded TE as a “lesser” brand, but certainly not anymore. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. Nope, better. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Dude...pop means doctor time. The training system can wait. Back/spine issues aren’t something you rub some dirt on and power through. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. Took the plunge, bought the Super Speed system. Don't want to hijack the official review thread, so I'll just post here, update my profile, and continue to follow along with the 2020 testers. I will say, I hope "golf companies" appreciate the quality advertising and word of mouth MGS can generate for them. I absolutely would not have made this purchase if not for the documented experiences/testimonials of the 2019 group and (already) the 2020 group.
  24. I am sold...going to go buy this tomorrow. That said, I don't have the coin to get the radar too...am I wasting my time then? I mean, I'll still improve, it will just be harder to quantify by how much...right?
  25. Just picked this up. U500 3i with the 90g Hzrdous Smoke shaft. Love it; just one round on it but hit it consistently 215-220 with a slight draw. This won't always be in the bag, but on windy days the CBX hybrid will come out and this will go in.
