Good morning Spies, Uppa with a cuppa. Not much on tap today. It’s my long run day. Hopefully the CNY weather will cooperate. I’m not a fan of long runs on the treadmill. My wife leaves for a girls snowshoeing trip in Wyoming tomorrow. I’m thinking there will be a few trips to the indoor driving range next week. I’m 3 months post COVID, so I got the newest booster yesterday. Just a bit of soreness at the injection site. About the same as when I got my flu shot. Makes me wistful for the Army days when you’d get shots for the plague and yellow fever. Wishing all a wonderful day!

I currently have a Ping G400 Max that I was fit into in 2018. I am thinking of a new driver, honestly don’t need one but as this group knows, that’s not really a consideration. The Ping G430 Max 10k caught my eye. Then this morning I saw on the MGS website that PXG released their 0311 Black Ops line. They too have a high MOI offering in the 10k range and they offer a $150 savings through their For Heroes program. But it’s a bit early to make that decision as I watch snow falling and that courses won’t open up around here until the end of March.

How are you feeling?

The last time they tried a coach from the Pacific Northwest, didn’t he spend most of his time in the “Gentlemen’s Clubs”?

Good morning Spies, Uppa with a cuppa. It’s a bit earlier than usual but still adjusting to a new normal and maybe a nap will be a part of my day. Weather is meh but I was able to run a few miles yesterday. I did get squishy socks though as although the trails in my community were plowed there was still some snow and puddles from it warming up. The run felt good. I can foresee a gym session later. Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning Spies, The morning cup of coffee isn’t hitting the same today. My wife and I had to say goodbye to our gentlest soul, Riley, yesterday. The seizures took their toll and he was really struggling. He passed very peacefully in our home. The veterinarian who came to our house was incredibly incredibly compassionate. Please give you pets extra love today. We were truly blessed to have Riley in our lives for 14 1/2 years. Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning Spies, Woke up to a winter wonderland in CNY. 6 plus inches of snow and it’s still coming down. My morning cuppa is tasting extra good. I grew up in the Bay Area. The first big snow of the season always brings a smile. Now I’m off to clear 90 feet of driveway. Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning Spies, Enjoying my morning cuppa. Hunkering down for a nice winter snow later today. They are calling for 4 to 7 inches of the white stuff this evening into tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for a bit of snowshoeing tomorrow. It looks like @GolfSpy_APH has a great build on tap. I just love BBandFCo ferrules. Looking forward to seeing the final build. Not gonna lie those ribs @Josh Parker has on the egg look great. You had me at mac n cheese. Wishing all a wonderful day!

Last summer I was looking to replace my Callaway MD3 wedges. I tried Edison but couldn’t get along with it and took advantage their generous refund policy. I then wanted to get the MG4 wedges. I went to the TaylorMade website to place my order but the wedges I wanted couldn’t deliver until December which was well after my season ended. I ended up going to the Titleist website and used their wedge selection tool. I ordered the SM9 in 54 and 58 both in the D grind. I am incredibly happy with them. They feel great and just plain work for me.

It’s 26 out with fresh snow on the ground here in CNY. I’ll have to run on the treadmill today. Will be going suit shopping later today in preparation for my son’s wedding next month! While watching the seizures is hard, the wandering around so shakily, appearing lost and confused is so heartbreaking.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I can relate, our old dog is on 2 different seizure meds. Thankfully they have diminished greatly since adding the second med. It’s so tough watching them go through it. Give her a “boop” for me and an extra treat or two.

Oh no, prayers for a speedy recovery.

My snow shoes and cross country skis are saying, “WTH!” Last year I was only able to get out a couple of times. We had almost half of our normal snowfall.

Good morning Spies, Enjoying my cuppa looking out on freshly fallen snow here in Central NY. I mailed my club membership check and kind of itching to get on the course again but we are about 3 months out from that occurring. Love seeing the club embargoes ending. I’m really intrigued by the Callaway Ai Smoke fairway woods. Not gonna lie, I’m a bit envious of @cnosil but appreciate the reporting. I will be checking in on the Sentry TOC later today. Having played the course, this tournament always gets my attention. I love hole number 8 a par 3. The day I played it, the starter said it was a two club wind which meant 3 wood for me. I would like to see more reviews of fairway woods. But to piggyback on what @sirchunksalot commented on with Wilson Ai fitting and other opportunities to use other Ai fitting tools.

Good morning Spies, Enjoying my morning cuppa on a gray cold day in CNY. ”Bow down to Washington”. It was cool to see that as the “PAC-12” comes to an end, UW is heading to the National Championship game. The game calls back to traditional Rose Bowl match ups. Big 10 vs. PAC 10. As a former Seattle area resident of 20 years, I’ll be pulling for the Huskies. I have fond memories of taking my son Husky Stadium for games and working in the Ivar’s concession stand there to raise money for my son’s school. Wishing all a wonderful day!

I used to enjoy professional golf for the skill of the players and the courses on which they played. Watching shots being pulled off of which I could only dream is pretty incredible. Watching tournaments like the Sentry because I’ve played that course and The Masters because of the beauty of Augusta and other tournaments because of a dream to play those courses was a draw for me. Walking Oak Hill for the PGA Championship was very cool as was seeing players like Rory, Collin Morikowa, Adam Scott, Tommy Fleetwood and Tony Finau up close was pretty special. The money has gotten so big and the advertising needed to support the tournaments started to detract from the viewing. But as the money grew, some players appeared more concerned about their cut than making the cut it began to turn me off. I will watch the Majors but I will be less inclined to watch regular tour events and have zero interest in watching any LIV event.

Good morning and Happy New Year Spies, Up a bit later as we did see midnight. Cuppa tasting good. Had friends over last night. I made creamy gnocchi with sausage. Our neighbors went to London to ring in the New Year. We looked for them on the BBC coverage as they were down by the London Eye. We couldn’t find them. I will start off the year with a run. Good morning Spies, Up early, dog fed, travel mug filled with morning coffee. Head out to pick up cinnamon rolls at the bakery. Arrive to see a sign “Closed until 1/2/2024”. Oh well. I will finish my cuppa then walk the dog. As I reflect on 2023, I am grateful for you all on the forum. I want to thank all of MGS Forum staff for keeping the content so accessible to all and for the testing opportunities you were able to provide for the members.
