  1. Absolutely! I'm happy to do it. I try to stay on top of it and check a few different websites/message boards every day or two...but if anyone ever has any questions or needs anything quickly they can always email me directly at [email protected]
  2. It is! I'll take all the grief thrown my way...and I appreciated your pictures and thoughts on the wedges as well!
  3. Thanks for the message! The 286 Series is an update to our previous Forged Series, with a straighter leading edge compared to the original model. They're a bit more rounded to the front edge compared to the JB to let it glide a bit more than dig in. Very forgiving, super easy to hit in terms of a forged wedge. This should be closer in comparison to Cleveland's 588 series wedges than our JB Wedges will be. The JB Wedge is more of our "Tour Preferred" wedge, and features more heel relief, more of a straight leading edge, and little less of a rounded sole. These wedges are designed for golfers that want their wedge to sit a bit tighter when it’s a straight on shot, while offering workability by using the bounce. This is very comparable to Vokey SM8 M Grind. These videos might help provide further context as well... 286 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZNVNRL3LyY JB - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y-DOHEAwjY
  4. That's great to hear Ben! I hope they can get them to you soon. Thanks for the support!
  5. We do have a UK distributor that is up and running now. Their website is https://www.sub70europe.com/ Doh...page split got me. Glad you got the website though!
  6. Yeah we are running 7-9 days for assembly. Then add on shipping times which are inconsistent at best right now. Most customers should still be getting their clubs 10-14 days from the time they order. Just a crazy busy time of year for golf, there's been a massive resurgence of golf participation, and COVID is still throwing a wrench into things. We'll definitely get everything built and shipped out asap. Our assembly team is working like crazy to keep up.
  7. That would be great. We'll have some member testing going for our new 949X Pro hybrid soon. We'll see if we can get member testing or forum testing setup for the driver as well!
  8. Love hearing that. Thank you!
  9. We've got more coming in. Hopefully before the end of March. A quick thought on the golf industry and golf equipment in particular... We've had the 739 irons available for roughly two years now. In the first year they were selling well but they were probably one of the slower movers in our product line. COVID hit and golf participation ended up skyrocketing. Suddenly there were tons of guys playing golf who had never really played before or had 10+ year old irons. Those irons worked perfectly fine when they only played 4-5 times a year but the golfer wanted/needed an upgrade now that they were playing more often. Suddenly the 739 demand went through the roof. It's been interesting for sure!
  10. Thanks for the message. The set shown is TAIII's personal set...so he did some additional porting to get everything exactly to his specs. The version we'll have available will have the ports on the 3, 4 and 5 irons. There is some additional toe weighting in the mid/short irons so that you can go at them a bit harder and prevent the left miss on scoring irons. The TAIII's will be $990 for a 4-W set and come with a full package of cool extras. The 649 MB Tour that we are releasing will be priced the same as our current CB/MB ($644 for 4-W with no upcharge shafts/grips). The general head design concept has been around a long time...the weight distribution just flat out works for a forged iron and the better player.
  11. I believe the raw finish versions of both will be available in the next week or two. Not 100% sure beyond that but the others shouldn't be too far behind. Unfortunately shipments have been getting split up and delayed all over the place.
  12. They shouldn't with the satin or black finishes...unless they're left outside or in some other really wet/damp environment for a long time. Obviously the raw wedges/irons will but they're meant to do that.
  13. I think we'll have the winner today. I spoke with Chris over the weekend and he just needed to get the winner drawn. Somebody should have good news heading their way soon!
  14. Thanks for the messages. While we definitely pride ourselves on our customer service and communication, we won't deny that a few things have fallen through the cracks over the last 3-4 months. COVID shut us down completely and then it's been insanely busy since we reopened in May. Everyone has been doing their best to keep up, and 99% of things have gone great, but we certainly think it'll be even better going forward. It's not a great excuse but it's been a crazy year and a crazy few months for us. We are expanding our customer service and club building teams so that should help going forward. If anyone here ever needs an answer on anything they can always reach Jason at [email protected] or 815-621-3556...or myself (Jay) at [email protected] or 630-333-8207. In regards to the demo program...unfortunately it's just not realistic for us to offer all kinds of shaft options on irons at this point. Maybe it's something we can expand on a little in the future, but we need to turn the demos around and get them out to other interested customers asap. It's just a situation where using a "stock" steel shaft is the best way to do that. We do sell individual irons so you could always just purchase one or two irons built with your shafts, grips, specs, etc. to test out and make a decision on. Thanks again for the thoughts and feedback!
  15. Thanks for checking us out Don. I hope they got to you before the holiday weekend! If you have any questions please let us know. Thanks again!
  16. We love hearing about these positive experiences from our customers. We truly appreciate the business and want every customer to be 100% happy with their purchase. Thank you for sharing KB! If you ever need anything or have any questions just let us know. Hopefully we'll be back to building golf clubs and you'll be back on the course soon!
  17. Great. Posting on these message boards is always tricky and especially difficult as a company. We're happy to have any conversation when it comes to golf clubs, Sub 70 or just golf in general
  18. I just wanted to follow up and make 100% sure that nobody takes my responses as being defensive/aggressive/angry, etc. We appreciate all of the conversation and thoughts on our business and the DTC model...and if I get some time I'll even put together a perfectly apples to apples cost analysis for a product or two. Sub 70 definitely isn't going to be for everyone. We know there will always be people who can build clubs themselves and prefer doing it that way...or that simply prefer playing name brand products and will never consider a smaller company...but we certainly think we provide a product and service that should at least be considered by many golfers. If not, no biggie...there is no shortage of great equipment options these days!
  19. Thanks for the message and thoughts. While consumer pricing is a big part of the DTC business model we certainly think there is a lot more to it then just the cost savings. You get new clubs, custom built and with what we think is better customer service then you're going to get anywhere else. We embrace our customers and want them to be part of what we're doing. There is SO much good golf equipment out there and we respect what everyone else does...but we're definitely going to be more transparent, accessible and hopefully fun to work with. I'm not sure on the relevance of cost when it involves pulling shafts and installing your own...then pulling grips and installing your own...then dealing with selling the pulls just to try and recoup some of the cost. And while that is absolutely possible, you're probably in the 0.5% of golfers that would consider that. I wouldn't blame you for doing it but most golfers don't have the ability to do that or aren't going to spend the time/effort doing it. I think you'll find some real cost savings if you line up other manufacturers products and create an apples to apples comparison. I know I put together the attached file for our 739 irons early last year. The data is from MGS Most Wanted testing. There may be some shaft/grip considerations in there but nothing that would change the drastic cost savings. By the way, we have had customers send us their existing shafts/grips and then we just charge them for the heads and labor cost for the assembly...that could be an option if you want to secure shafts and grips on your own. On the grips...you can choose from the GP Tour Velvet 360, Lamkin Crossline or GP 2G grips for no upcharge. Those grips are perfectly fine for the large majority of guys and they do have a few options. The other grips typically have $4-$5 upcharges just based on what the manufacturer charges us. The Tour Velvet 360 is the stock grip for basically every other manufacturer and they generally have upgrade costs for any higher quality/specialized grip (New Decades, Aligns, MCC +4s, etc.) Thanks again. If anyone ever has any questions always feel free to message me!
  20. Thanks for the message. We did have a shipment come in 2-3 weeks ago but that batch was sold out before they even hit the website. Our next shipment should be here in 3 weeks or so. Obviously the coronavirus stuff hasn't helped us any on the shipment delays. It sounds like these should be in the building before the end of the month though. Thanks for the interest and if you have any questions just let us know.
  21. We definitely have 50 and 58 degree lofts on the wedges...but it's possible we're temporarily out of stock on those lofts for a certain finish. We can bend them but I'd expect we'll be restocked on those lofts soon anyway. Thanks for the interest!
  22. Thanks for the message and sorry for the delay getting back to you. Please see below for some answers to your questions... What is the black finish made of? Is it the crappy PVD or some other type of "surface coating" that wears rather quickly, or something more durable like black nitride or DBM? The 639 black irons do have a tour PVD finish. In our testing we haven't observed any major wear or other issues with the finish. The 699 Pro will be using a DBM finish though. - Is it, or will it at some point be, possible to get the black finish on other models besides the 639cbs? Or even possibly raw? I could see the added expense of doing just a few 1-offs of a certain head in black for "special orders", but offering in raw should actually help with cost as its one less step of the finishing process. (Plus in my case, if I wanted to add the black nitride myself if you don't offer it, it would save me the expense of stripping the chrome first ) We do have black 639 MBs now...so full black MB or black MB/CB combo sets can be purchased. We've discussed offering irons in the raw finish, and the 639 forged line would obviously be the choice for that, but we haven't made a final decision on that at this point. I think we'll do it eventually. Just a matter of getting other projects taken care of first. - Any updates on the modified MB version pictured a few pages back (639-G i think it was called)? I know it was mentioned it wouldn't be available until sometime in 2020, if at all, but here we are already! To be honest I'm not really in the market for new irons this year, but at this cost, a set of those in a durable black finish look very intriguing! We're definitely still working on these in some capacity...but not entirely sure how much they'll resemble the original prototype when they're done. We're working with Tommy Armour III to create another forged iron model and some of the 639-G features might be incorporated. They'll be available in a high end black finish and will be a great players forged iron with a few differences from our current CB or MB - I saw mention on twitter of a 699 Pro, but can't find any info on your website - can you elaborate? I believe that was posted above already...if not, there should be some info on our website now - Since you don't offer heads only for purchase, can you at least ship the clubs un-assembled if I were to purchase the "full club"? Reason I ask is I always make some customizations to my irons before use (doweling, pro-soft inserts, custom ferrules/grips, etc.) and this would simplify the process. I don't think that would be an issue...I would just reach out to our CEO Jason Hiland at 815-621-3556 or [email protected] to make that happen. He'll definitely do whatever he can to get you what you need. Thanks again for the questions!
  23. Can't wait to follow your success again next year. Thanks Josh!
  24. Thanks for coming out and visiting!!! Jason is great to work with and is really passionate about getting people into the right setup. For anyone that's not in the area...we will always do everything we can to provide a great fitting by phone, email or through social media chats. The demo program is a great option to help narrow it down as well. Thanks for the feedback and support!
