  1. The mizuno shaft optimizer at my fitting recommended the 7x but my fitter only had the 6s tipped 3/4” in his personal driver on hand. He let me hit some shots with his driver and said that it would play pretty close to the x but lighter. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. I hit them both really good. I have the rogue in an old driver head at home already so I’m thinking about pulling it and putting it in my newer driver head Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. Well I’m good on irons and wedges since I have the 919 tours and s18 wedges coming my way so I guess now I’m wanting a new 3 wood and also wondering if I should put the Aldila rogue silver in the driver or get an atmos black tour spec? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. Just got fit for a set of jpx 919 tours 3-PW with project x 6.5 and also got fit for s18 wedges. The order has been placed and I should have the clubs in hand later today or tomorrow. I will post some pics when they arrive. I’m so excited! Like a kid at Christmas Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  5. Just to give an update, I did a fitting and was blown away by the shafts I was fit for. I ended up with project x 6.5 and was playing s300. They are night and day Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  6. Update: I decided to go ahead and get fit today and boy was I surprised at how different the results were with new clubs versus what I currently play. I went to my local club and got fitted by the pro there who is very knowledgeable about fitting might I add. I was torn between getting fit for Mizuno irons and just ordering a set from Ben Hogan. After going through the Mizuno fitting I couldn’t be happier. I was fitted for the jpx 919 tour irons 3-pw with project x 6.5 shafts and 0.5 flat lie angles. It was amazing to me just how much better I hit the ball with the correct shafts and lie angles versus my current set. I ended up ordering the irons along with a set of the s18 wedges in 50,54,58 degrees. I also got fit for a driver while I was there but I’m not completely sold on it yet so I’ll look around before making up my mind on that. Thanks again to all of you who responded and for all of your recommendations. I am now a true believer in getting fit for golf equipment. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  7. Just watched a video by myswingevolution (Christo Garcia) on YouTube of him hitting these side by side against his ft worth black irons and he seems to be very pleased with how the ptx pro irons perform. I’m in the market for new irons this year and I’m thinking it’ll be between a set of mizunos or Hogan’s. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  8. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this option. One of the courses in my hometown can also do this for me. I think they primarily have Mizuno irons for fitting but I believe they may have a few other brands as well. Thanks for bringing this up because otherwise I would have bypassed them. 9. Thanks for the replies guys. Do either of you have experience with club champion or GolfTEC. I think those are going to be the best options for club fitting in my area. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. I’ve finally talked myself into getting a new set of irons and wedges this year. I’m interested in Mizuno irons and also the ft worth irons from Ben Hogan. I want to get fit for irons but that’s not really possible if I decide to go with the Hogan’s. I can probably order a set of irons and wedges from hogan for the same price as the Mizuno irons by themselves but what good would that do me if they aren’t really the right fit? What do you guys suggest? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. I’ve already written a new member introduction last year when I joined but I’ll add some more information about myself How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I’ve been playing for about 6 years and usually shoot low to mid 80s What do you love about golf? I love being outdoors and being able to spend some time with friends or family enjoying a round of golf. I’m very competitive and take the game seriously but I also like to just be out on the course relaxing and breathing the fresh air. Where are you from? What is your home course? I’m from a small town in northwest Georgia called Cedartown. I play all three courses in my small town and also try to play as many decent courses within a 50 mile radius of where I live. There are some beautiful courses around here. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The best thing in my opinion is the weather is good for golf almost year round and also the fact that in my area there are mountain courses and flat courses and mixtures of the two. The worst part is probably during the middle of summer when it’s 100 degrees outside and almost too hot to play. What do you do for a living? I am a production technician at a chemical manufacturing plant. How’d you pick your username? Pretty simple, my name and first initial of my last name. If anyone in my area wants to meet up and play a round of golf just shoot me a message on here and we can work something out. Hit em straight! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  13. I’m with shankster, if they are in good shape I would buy them. Especially if they only have 3 rounds on them. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. Update: took the nikes out for a round last weekend and hit them terribly high. I had absolutely no confidence with them whatsoever and I was losing distance. I think the problem was the stock shaft in them. Just not the right shaft for me. Long story short, I worked out a deal to get my Cleveland irons back and couldn’t be happier. 15. On another topic@deejaid, after reading some of your posts about vintage equipment you have me interested in getting at least one bag of vintage clubs. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Is it just me or do the forged irons of today’s time wear more quickly than say forged irons from the 70s and 80s? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. I was playing blades and thought I wanted more forgiveness in my irons. Went to a more cavity style iron and immediately wanted to go back to blades. I hit the ball way too high and can’t control the trajectory as well with the cavity irons. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I’ll sell the Nike vapor fly pros I have and play with the hogan redlines until I can find what I want. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. What blade iron models can be found for cheaper prices on eBay? Any suggestions or recommendations? Wanting to find something in good shape. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. As others have already mentioned, I would love to try the stroke lab putters from odyssey. I handled one in a golf course pro shop and man they are very well balanced and look great as well. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  21. Well guys after spending a little range time with the nikes I have decided they will be staying in the bag. They feel almost as good as the forged Cleveland’s I had before them and they perform better for me as well. They also look damn good so that’s a plus too. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Haven’t had a chance to go out and play with the nikes yet but I sure do miss the Cleveland irons. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  23. Anyone currently playing these or played them in the past? Just picked up a set because I wanted a little more forgiveness in my irons. I don’t have as much time to play and practice as I did in the past. Got rid of the Cleveland 588 cb/mb irons but still have a set of hogan redlines in the basement if I just want to play blades. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  24. Have any of you guys played the 105x and 120x? How do they differ? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
