  1. Ugh. Too new around here to know that existed and it didn't turn up via search either for some reason as I even checked before posting!
  2. Walk up music is FINALLY coming to the tour at the Zurich this year. What song(s) would you choose for your walk up music? My songs by day: Saturday - Battle Cry by Jack White Sunday - Nightlight by Silversun Pickups Bonus option if I could have one on Thur or Fri: A remixed version Intro by the XX (too many to choose from) and pretty much anything from Radiohead, maybe You and Whose Army? or Man of War
  3. Honestly, the higher walking % is one of the main reasons I want to eventually join a private club. I actually wonder what type of economic change we'd see in the industry if behavior changed here to be similar to what they have across the pond where walking is the majority.
  4. Totally agree. Unless you're playing at that level of the guy you ran into and/or just have enough cash to blow on ProV's, the trade-off is 100% worth the savings.
  5. Agreed. I totally understand the forced carts for some of the more modern courses that have long gaps in between holes - when you have 100+ yards between greens and tees it can affect pace of play. My main issue is the courses that are 100% perfect for walking forcing you to pay for a cart, especially when walking seems to be increasingly popular these days. I've actually stopped playing a number of local courses and driving out of my way to play tracks that give some type of discounted rate to walk. I know carts aren't cheap but don't make golfers who don't want to use them subsidize that cost. edit: A the solution in your club's situation should be to reduce the number of carts available at the course and slightly increase the cost for their use. Say, it's a $15 added fee now for a cart, by bumping it to $20 then reducing the # of carts, could, in theory, push the supply-demand enough to encourage walking while increasing the return on the carts a small percent. Then there's the added benefits of less course abuse and improved pace of play by having more walkers vs cart.
  6. Yet another local muni course eliminated walking rates this year and now requiring you to pay the cart-price even if you want to walk. On top of that, they are requiring you to take a cart when you play a certain times of the day. The worst part about it is that it's a course practically made for walking. Almost every course now in my part of the Detroit area has switched to this model to boost their $$$ over the past couple years.
  7. I played with them all last season and liked them enough to stock up for all of 2018 when they last went on sale in the fall. If you're not scratch or better, I don't think you'll really notice a massive enough difference between them and a Pro-V. In fact, I think the low price point mentally helps my game at times as I'm not standing over the ball concerned about chucking $4 into a pond or woods.
  8. Digging through my cellar to decide what I put on my Master's weekend menu. Thinking it's going to be a 6-year side-by-side of both Founder's KBS and Dark Horse BBPT5 on Saturday then finish off my bottles from a semi-recent trip to Hill Farmstead on Sunday.
  9. Make memes. Well, not all the time, but a couple hours a week - I push the buttons and pull the levers and everything in between for the online side of a local-news media company.
  10. I'm getting really sick of getting 'great tee times available' emails from Supreme Golf only to look out the window to see snow. GO AWAY WINTER!!!
  11. This is awesome. Other than pencils, markers are about the cheapest thing you can collect from a course and your display look is much more tidy than the standard giant ball display most guys have on their wall.
