Swing Speed is definitely a factor, I like the Bridgestone balls a lot because they tell you based off your speed which ball is ideal. My clubhead speed is under 105 mph so I go between e12 soft and tour b rx. I know soft causes a loss in distance but going between the two it hasn't been noticeable enough for the price difference to I play the e12 a lot more.
