  1. I’m sticking with the Callaway Paradym I got fitted for last year.
  2. I watch most of them but I pay the most attention to James Robinson and Chris Dennis. I currently enjoy their playing of the 2nd hundred courses in the UK on Sundays.
  3. I go back and forth between a Titleist Tsi1 and a Callaway Paradym X, both 12 degree. I was fitted for both. I get more draw from the Titleist and end up in more fairways. I get more distance with the Callaway (about 10 yards) but occasionally hit it dead right about 30 degrees, not a slice. My swing speed is only 72 mph and my distance is normally around 180 yards.
  4. I have been playing golf for 65 years since the age of 11, at least 6000 rounds, and have had hundreds of shots within an inch or two of getting a hole in one. But, last Thursday, August 31, I finally got one on hole #3 at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, IN. It’s actually a relief rather than a thrill that the wait is over. (I lied. IT’S a thrill.)
  5. I’ve played some good ones: Pebble Beach TPC Sawgrass Pacific Dunes Bandon Dunes Old Macdonald Spyglass Hill Prairie Club Pinehurst No. 2 Crooked Stick Donald Ross Course at French Lick and some extras Pfau course at IU Birck-Boilmaker at Purdue Brickyard Crossing at the Speedway
  6. I did a fairway wood fitting a couple of months back. I am 76 y.o. with a slow swing speed. My original fairways were 3 and 5 Titleist TS2 and my distance had dropped over the 4 years I played them plus the 3 wood was getting harder to get in the air. I tried most of the popular brands and multiple shafts. I ended up with the Callaway Paradym X 5 and 7 which for me were the longest and most consistent and were 10-15 yards longer than the Titleists. So I can understand how the Callaway’s ended up being picked by MGS.
  7. I looked at the list of balls that we can choose to add to the test and only recognized one brand. I thought there would be a lot of well known Surlyn balls to choose from like Srixon AD333 and Callaway ERC soft. I ended up putting Taylormade soft response and distance+ and the ERC soft in the ‘other’ box.
  8. I use the Softspikes tool. But if I’m missing a part of the spike, the claw won’t grip. And the holes never seem deep enough for the pins to grip well. So I do the hot water soak, then drill out the holes. Old spikes come right out. Make sure you clean the threads before installing new ones. The tool works well on new spike installation.
