About Me

Lifelong southeastern Michigan area resident, working career has been all automotive related since first starting out in 1968.

Started golf as an early teen when the Detroit News newspaper ran summer clinics and classes at Chandler Park Golf Course in Detroit. Went there with two of my brothers, and soon all of us became very interested in the game and the challenges it brings.

My Dad joined a club in the early 70's so at that time, we had a family foursome.

Eventually before I was 19, played well enough that at that time, I was in final pairing for club championship, although it was "B" flight, or handicap of 5 - 10. Sadly, I didn't prevail in my match, was beaten by a much older gentleman who didn't hit it too far, but was very straight off the tee. My strong suit was length off the tee, and very accurate iron play. Iron play still stands today, although length has diminished as time marches forward and my age increases. Still not short, but much more accurate off the tee these days due to advancements in fitting and technologies.

Reside in Washington Twp. in Michigan, actually very close to The Orchards Golf Club.

Work for a Tier 1 automotive driveline supplier, have had various engineering roles there, although I do not have the piece of paper from a college stating as much.

Play as often as I can, usually weekly, with a trip as well to the range as weather and time permits.

Great thing about golf in Michigan is the variety and availability of courses, all offering unique challenges and scenic views.

Bad thing about golf in Michigan is cold weather, we typically can get out from March through maybe November.

Last item, since growing up in the "Motor City" my whole life, cars have always been a way of life and fascination. I currently own a 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Collector Edition convertible, that I have had since 2016. Purchased it as a used vehicle, it was originally a GM executive owned car, and I have made many friends on a car forum from around the country, and some of our "get togethers" always include time for rounds of golf in various locations across the USA.

That is part of the reason for my forum name.
