  1. On average used the fairway wood 1-2 twice per round and Driver 11-13 time per round some rounds I have not used a fairway wood and used a hybrid to reach green on par 5 Started using the hybrid last year and ditched the 7 wood and feel its more versatile Cant hit the high cuts that I could do with 7 wood Fade goes lower than 7wood but still same distance for the draw - prefer the hybrid The combo of the longer length shaft and high loft did not make it easy to hit a predictable draw with the 7 wood for me
  2. Been drawing my iron past month. very different “feel” for me as I usually slice or pull my irons. Been using the standard advice aligned my body /torso when I want the ball to start and line the clubface where I want the ball to end up. So lining up what feels like 20-30 degrees right of the target
  3. also added I did it with lob wedge Took years but feeling really comfortable with the LW as my goto chipping club for most situations.
  4. added few new shots in my bag of tricks 1 Hook with a 9 or 8 iron Im behind a tree and need to go around and can make a full sling Can play for a 20-30 yards hook and if it doesn hook still can be in the fairway 2 Punch out between trees . basically the other option when stuck i the woods Fells like a chip shot I took 7 or 6 iron look for a landing spot 1/3 to 1/2 way where I want the ball to land and then scoot out in the fairway I like see my spot and forward pressure and chip out that way Has been very useful and saves me par several times this season Golf is not a game of perfect and I dont dread playing at tree line courses anymore
  5. Hole out a chip from 30 yards away for a eagle par 5 Excited and high 5 all around from my playing partners My chip was the best it’s ever been today I had 3 other chips that were within 1 foot today My playing partners were impressed and so was I cause it’s abnormal
  6. Working on my putting stroke. Still have problems with downhill fast breaking putts. I’m starting to read better but frustrated at my stroke. I tried hitting off the heel and cutting stroke to take some juice off but it’s not consistent. Then I tried hitting off the toe and that seems to much more manageable and consist. I have already chip off the toe but don’t really do it for the putter may try it in the range
  7. when internet explodes with golf forums , there was just too much info out there and I was overthinking swing Simple book like Rotella and Zen putting are probably the best to get my score down as I tend to think too much on the course My swing is manageable and dont really think bout it as much as I used too Putting is another story though, tying new putters and there isn't a lot of clear instruction about putting out there online and the typically golfer doesn't want to improve putting as much as their swing
  8. Eliminate the forward press in my chipping and putting. Not easy as that was my natural tendency I have a very slight forward shaft lean for certain toe chips/putts now but nothing massive
  9. I’m currently using conventional grip but when I go switch over to cross handed I find a putter with full shaft offset neck and thicker round grips feels more comfortable for my eye alignment im using a goose neck with no offset and a thin pistol grip Thsy combo works for me with conventional reverse overlap grip
  10. Starting to take practice putting strokes pre putt routine. Have not done it years but felt good doing two practice strokes and holed a few putts and distance control better with incorporated into my routine Also doing practice twirls in the air as it helps me feel the draw Don’t really do practice swings pre routine Last time I did was trying to hook a ball on purpose and had to make hook type practice swings
  11. Playing a draw currently. Beginning of the season it was all fades Been having more control of the right to left flight pattern and no fear of the hook One of the things I learned when I played the fade once I understood why I slice I was not afraid of left to right flight and played controlled fade. Then one day last month I could not hit a fade and everything was a draw /hook. Took me a month now to not fear the hook Basically when I rolled my arms and aim straight I would hook For the slice when I open my alignment and aim straight I would slice
  12. Practice swings I figure the ones I need in order of importance 1 long putts. I doing the Tiger practice two looking at the hole then putt. I’m finding the practice helps me regulate how much I fan and length of arc stroke to make the ball get as close to the hole as possible short putts or long downhill putts no practice strokes 2. Various chips around the green I pretty much have to make practice swings to figure out how much swing I need to chip the ball close to the green I think almost all the time practice swings for chipping. When I get to 60 yards plus which My full LW pitch I don’t need to practice swing the LW For regular swings. Just going to the driving range is enough to practice for at the course play I usually practice draws as that the swing I that is more trouble hitting solidly impaired yo the fade short putts. I been just checking my eye alignment along my stArt line of my putt
  13. Working on short putts inside 3 feet Feel really comfortable going cross handed and “ramming” in the cup Got 20 in a row. Final miss hit the rim and lip out. But most of the ones hit the back and fell in more confidence with drawing my irons I’m swinging what feels like 30 degrees to the right and my clubface is closed relative to my swing path halfway between my swing path and my target
  14. Working on my irons. feeling like the knockdown is my normal swing now can vary the distances with each iron the draw for my irons goes only two distance 180 or 150 yards crazy game
  15. Hitting all draws/hooks now. Can’t even slice one if I tried. Feels really weird My body just doesn’t even want to fade when I setup I just close the face at impact and get a dreaded double cross pull draw
  16. Happens every year at this time of the season Playing decent golf with primary fade for the 1st month of the season Then sudden I wake up and Everything was a hook Yikes! wanted to give up golf After one week of reflection I have accepted the reality that hooks will never be cured only managed My go to club to create the biggest hook is 8 iron Was at the range and changed my grip to less strong more neutral stance line up fractionally closed not extremely close Very slow takeaway Started to get draws Started to get more comfortable with that shot shape
  17. Watched many of his video Does dive into many topics that other instructions don’t touch He does communicate well and seems open to feedback His instruction is not for me though I do disagree with some of his teachings
  18. Practice my draws. Last time on the course “double cross”. Usually play a fade. Setup for a fade with open align. Then pull hook way left. My clubface was tooooo closed at impact usually for a fade my feel is to square but slight left of my target with slightly open clubface my body wanted to shut the face at impact relative to my stance and play a hook At the range. My keys was to close my stance. Swing out to the right with my arms with slightly closed clubface Extremely slow takeaway Don’t worry about the target. Just send out the ball aling my start line. Trust that the ball will curve back to the left Did it at the range. Hard to trust it on the course like I can with my fade
  19. Play my Best round was hitting the baby fade /straightest shot and good touch on the green 2 days later every swing/ball flight was drawing/hooking I have no idea how to control it There was no touch on the green This happens out of the blue 2-3 times a season where I get the “draws”
  20. Don’t really like practice swings if I do it’s more like 1/2 swing or simple waggles At the practice range I making some really full practice swings and pre practice putts and that seem to really help me out. I over emphasize the swing arc and the speed of my draw swing. Not sure why and how it worked. My feeling is I tend to fade in my mind snd that’s my typically seing. when I have to make make a draw like swing it’s not as naturally and I have to create that feeling with extreme dramatic practice swings
  21. So far this season Driver improved Iron play improved My wedge and putting is inconsistent Had my worse putting today Went back to the practice green and things I notice my head and eye too far forward I putt best when I see both the butt end and putter head not just the putter head The other major thing is not reading properly I putt best when I go the low side and stand there for few seconds deciding when the break start I did not do that at all today The best stroke for me is arc stroke in which I go inside backstroke the route it down the line in the forward stroke I did a couple of arc like practice strokes before my actual inside DTL stroke
  22. +6 for the round. My drive was great long and in the fairways A+ three tight holes cost my My irons were flair to the right into tree trouble Otherwise generally crispy and pin level B- my wedges were below average had some bad lies but good lies didn’t chip that well either C- putter Fast green and three putted on four times Made nothing even close D
  23. Putter when I can yes I agree My stock wedge shots are the skull and the fat shot LOL
  24. Working to improve my iron play Hitting descent iron fades by axis tilt to my right then flex forward at the waist This address posture seems to the best way I get the correct right side when I hit through the ball
  25. Need to simplify my wedge game There is too many type of wedge shots in my head when I approach my ball just off the green I cannot play the middle of the stance slide the LW under the with arms and body no wrist popularized by Stricker/ Jason Day My neutral tendency to put under spin is use my wrist and hinge more like Mickelson method When I employee no wrist I can play a simple chip and roll with no wrist hinge and get the ball to roll and release to the cup
