  1. I am accepting the donation of new and lightly used driver shafts, preferably with Cobra adapters, for use in my research.
  2. Not great. I already have a high ball flight and it tended to occasionally balloon. Thanks for all of the great insight guys. Keep it coming.
  3. This past winter, I went for a driver fitting. By way of background, my driver swing speed is in the 92-93 mph range and at 59 I'm not getting any faster. I tend to create a lot of spin. My prior driver, which I purchased used, was a Callaway Rogue ST Max with a 40 gram 5.5 Project X Cypher. The fitter, with whom I have had good experiences with previously, fitted me into a Cobra Aerojet LS with a Mitsubishi Kai'li Blue 60 gram stiff shaft. During the fitting, the stiff shaft seemed to take my big miss, to the right, out of the equation. When I am swing it well, I have a slight fade but when I get a little loose I get the "right to rights." I was a little skeptical of the stiff shaft given conventional wisdom and my swing speed but went with it. After using the driver now for 6 or 8 actual and simulator rounds, it just feels like a little too much club and it has not eliminated the right side as it did in the fitting. I have a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 60 gram 5.5 flex shaft I can swap in. Just curious as to all of your thoughts.
  4. I bailed on my 3-wood a couple of years ago and it has been beneficial. In its place, I have gone to a Ping G425 Max 5-wood turned down a degree to 16.5. I then have a Ping G425 Max 7-wood with a 5-wood length shaft and turned down a degree to 19.5. That arrangement has worked out well and saved me the frustration of that damn 3-wood in the bag tormenting me into using it!
  5. The players will eventually vote with their feet and just not play if its not brought under control and this will be relegated to the western equivalent of the Barbasol Championship.
  6. I'm going to get one and put an Auto Flex shaft in it. What better combination than a $199 driver with an $800 shaft! On a serious note, kudos to Costco for bringing quality affordable golf equipment to the masses.
  7. Rory bails on the players committee, Rahm heads to LIV..... The tide is turning on old Jay.
  8. Rahm was completely in the PGA camp and publicly said so last year. “This is my official, my one and only time I’ll talk about this, where I am officially declaring my fealty to the PGA Tour,” Rahm said in early 2022. “I have a lot of belief in [PGA Tour commissioner] Jay Monahan and the product that they’re going to give us in the future. There has been a lot of talk and speculation about the Saudi league. It’s just not something I believe is the best for me and my future in golf, and I think the best legacy I can accomplish will be with the PGA Tour.” I suspect that when Monahan went behind all of the loyal players' backs and worked the details of the deal with LIV earlier this year that Rahm's allegiance waned. I think a lot of the players felt betrayed and backdoored. It certainly represents a kick in the **** to the tour as the deadline to work out a deal quickly approaches.
  9. Same here. Frustrating as hell. Took forever to locate where to enter it then keep getting message "Promo code 23MGS15 does not match an active promotion." I guess I will try later.
  10. I was fitted into a Ping G425 Max 7-wood with a 5-wood length shaft a couple of years ago and love it. It is a very versatile club, working well even out of bad lies. I have since matched it up with a G425 five wood, turned down 1 degree. I couldn't be happier with the setup. Much like @CrazyGolfNut I tended to hook hybrids, and was never a big fan of long irons. I've also ditched the three wood which has taken some of the frustration out of my game. Give it a shot. I think you'll be happy with the results.
  11. I took some frustration out of my game by taking the 3 wood out of the bag entirely. I now play with a 5-wood turned down to be closer to a 4-wood and a 7-wood turned down one degree with a 5-wood shaft. I am most happy with this set up.
  12. Yep, looks like a knockoff of the Hogan Radial irons from the 1980s.
  13. Other than their painfully slow process now in processing trades, I've had great luck with CPO. As many have said, they understate the condition of their clubs. I too have previously purchased "like new" items that were actually new when they arrived, still in their original packaging.
  14. The guys over at Tour Experience Golf just posted a video on YouTube about the new PXG woods and had good things to say about the driver.
  15. Congrats! I love "the chase" of searching for new clubs. It's "the catch" (purchase) that gets me!
  16. Being the sensibly frugal (cheap @$$) that I am, I am also always interested in last year's drivers list. It's nice to see that the Ping G425 MAX is still measuring up.
  17. They were disappointingly farther down the list, with the most inexpensive of the bunch, the 0211 the highest ranked!
  18. I'm quite concerned that the heads seem to be on backwards.
  19. They did throw in the B21 to confuse us one year.
  20. They also seem to like to alternate each year from moving weight to stationary weight so I would guess the next version will return to a moving rear weight like the Epic lines.
  21. I purchased, cleaned up and flipped a 70's era Ping Chipo last year. Interesting little club with a bit of a following.
  22. I had an elderly friend who used a device like the one in this video. It allowed him to play into his 80's.
