  1. The forum testing is different because you announce that testers have been selected and we can read their reviews. I was just reinforcing the point made by another member—the individual who signs up through the pop up gets no indication that he has received the benefit promised. I would hope that MGS would welcome this feedback about how its actions are perceived.
  2. No, if MGS published a list, or just announced that the drawing had taken place, I would not call it shady because then I’d have some assurance that the drawing I was promised a chance in had actually happened. I don’t expect to win, but I’d like to know that MGS is holding up their end of the bargain. Why should I have to request a list from MGS? Won’t they just say it’s proprietary like everything else? Glad my feedback provided you a laugh.
  3. I agree. The lack of transparency makes me think it’s just a ploy to get email addresses and improve their numbers for advertising purposes.
  4. PXG published some new data regarding their golf ball. Using one club more and swinging 1 mph faster results in approximately 2000 fewer rpm’s. Titleist balls have similar results (but the old data was the 2021 ball; new data is 2023 ball). Old data is above. Here’s the new:
  5. Gardening and landscaping. I’ve spent the last several years tearing out a bunch of old overgrown landscaping, replacing it with native plants, and growing prairie flowers from seed. There is something calming about watching the animals and insects the plants attract.
  6. I went HL in my 3 wood as well (although it’s a Callaway Rogue Max). I hit it every bit as far as my old 3 wood, but with a higher trajectory and more forgiveness. Definitely a club more people should consider.
  7. I think it fits with the pure distance vibe Cobra is going for, at least with its woods. If nothing else, Woodland hits the ball far. After reading what Ping had to do to create a set of one length irons for Bryson and some of the comments Bryson made about the clubs Cobra built for him, I don’t know why any company would sign him.
  8. Yeah, it was a joke. I was trying to say something just as ridiculous as the thought of Rickie Fowler as a Wilson guy.
  9. Ricky has been with Wilson forever. We are talking about Ricky Barnes, right? What other Ricky/Rickie is there?
  10. The testing opportunities sparked my interest. I joined because I wanted to ask questions about equipment, and I keep coming back because the discussions (equipment or otherwise) have been way better than I could have reasonably expected.
  11. Based on the header at the top, that looks like it’s the Heroes Program pricing. It’s not available to everyone.
  12. I think driver prices and technology gimmicks had been trending up before PXG came along. In the late 90s you could get a steel- or graphite-shafted steel-headed driver for $150-200. Then came titanium heads for $300-400, but there were still a bunch of good options in the $200 range. By 2010, adjustable drivers had appeared, the steel shaft was dead, and $300-400 was the new $200. Now carbon fiber has shown up and pushed the price higher, but there are still some good lower-priced options (until a new material shows up and relegates carbon fiber to the bargain bin).
  13. Cobra’s website has some good deals as well on the LTDx ($220 or so) and Radspeed ($170) fairway woods plus 10% off if you sign up for email. www.cobragolf.com
  14. Thanks! (And sorry I overlooked your post. I tried to quote everyone who mentioned BT headphones, but I was scrolling quickly)
  15. Which BT headphones do you guys use? Most I’ve tried don’t fit my ears (AirPods and the like)
