  1. Keep it as simple as possible, but no simpler

  2. I just popped over to the Ace site and found they don't have 2-inch carpet tape; you'd have to go with 2.44. I bought the 18-ft roll from G.Galaxy for $10. However, the Ace can of mineral spirits will likely be a lifetime supply and it works fine. PLEASE note however that disposal of your towels/rags is important. Whether in your basement or garage, these things can burst into flames as they "dry". Let them sit out somewhere before wadding them up and tossing them in the trash bin.
  3. You can buy roofer's blades for a standard utility knife. The hook is great, but you still need to be very ginger to avoid scoring the shaft.
  4. As one who doesn't have a heat gun and removes the tape manually, I think that's a good recommendation. I can only do about 3 clubs at a time because of the removal process. Suffice to say, the removal bullet is the worst part of the process. The rest is a snap. I use a paint roller pan for my catcher. It hangs on the wall above the workbench and is used for NOTHING else. I want it clean so I can return the runoff to my supply of solvent.
  5. This is a show on the History channel. They see UFOs. They also notice strange energy spikes at 1.62 GHz. The weight of a golf ball is 1.62 ounces. Coincidence?
  6. maybe rebranding could go a long way towards patching things. They could get LXXII Thompson as a spokesperson. (she was like 9 over on the front yesterday!?)
  7. PS- who else would earn a news item for hitting a bar on the way home from winning the Masters? Hell, Cam Smith was regaled for announcing a bunch of stouts were going to go down after his British Open.
  8. I see him being painted by the imbecilic sports journalists as some sort of fringe character. I could be imagining it, but to make the case is a cultural discussion that would be frowned upon by MGS authorities who would label it "political". Sinister? Scottie is just as much a killer at the moment as Tiger, Faldo, Mickelson, Nicklaus, Miller, Hogan... (Spieth when he was actually winning something.) He is certainly blessed, but not just lucky. As the commodity traders on the floor would say, he's no boy scout.
  9. Used to be -- and I believe Spieth got fined for failure -- that tour players HAD TO play x number of "lesser" events. Now the only motivation is to make "next 10" which is not a motivation for the "crowned" 50. I'm not going to do the math, but the difference seems likely to be enhanced. Agreed, Scottie has legitimately established his #1 position vs the "full field". I'm just underscoring the point that he doesn't have to from here out; unlikely to give up #1 in the foreseeable future. IMHO he would be up to the task should he have to face them. I think he's the most evident killer out there.
  10. and yet you said it... It's hyperbole!!
  11. I think it makes him a golfer with a killer instinct/design rather than an angel blessed with a game -- though it is certain he is both!!!
  12. Children definitely hit us all during our 20's and 30's in terms of eroding the golf posse. However, I will take exception. I love Ricky but he was never a candidate for #1. I blame Spieth's loss of the killer instinct on a guy in my golf league who hit him with a ball in a pro/am. Either that or the whole clique those guys formed into in their mid 20's. OWGR is recent but it seems only the golfing pantheon make the transition from early 20's glory to career greatness. Is that a tautology?
  13. All very good points, but to the question of OWGR unseating, the LIV guys are NOT around to challenge Scottie. Then again, that's also true for the pursuers. The McIlroy/Cantlay/Aberg/... set don't have to go up against the Rahm/Cam Smith/DeChambeau/... crew. I wonder if this also leads to greater separation between the Signature Tour and the DP USA. The more the Sig guys stay away from DP USA venues, the less valuable the ranking of those fields (for OWGR points.)
  14. No one. Start thinking of a catchy name for all 4 major titles AND the player's. Cinco de Scottie?
