  1. Good morning Spies! FABWIFE and I are up with the pups and departing soon for leg 2 of the journey south. Only 6 hours to our final destination. I wish everyone great days. Fairways and greens. P.S. I was coached into a putting stance like Jack due to right eye dominance.
  2. Great pic @Green4Spinach And super eagle @RichL85! Looks to me like you did pretty well for playing a course for the first time.
  3. Good morning Spies! FABWIFE and I are mobile, taking the dogs along to Florida for a few weeks. We are quite eager to enjoy the warmer weather, beach time, and lots of kayaking and saltwater fly fishing. That is, when I am not on the golf course or the range, or working. (This will not be a multi-week vacation unfortunately.) If my MGS friends have recommendations for public play courses or ranges in the Bonita Springs area, please share and thank you in advance! We are presently driving through Tennessee and enjoying the scenery and sunlight very much. (Oh, and Hi Jason!) I wish you all fantastic Sundays!!
  4. Very cool WITB @CFreddie! Thoughtful and style too.
  5. Great work @Michael.Sandoval33! I thought the same re the packaging, but it seems like both ours arrived safe and sound. Hmmm. Maybe TaylorMade knows what’s what, but they do seem to be banking on some white glove shipping. Which they got!
  6. Hey all! I did an unboxing vid and pics today, and will post first impressions tomorrow. So, more to come. But here is the video and a couple pics if you want a sneak peek!
  7. Date 02/23/2024 Course Name The Hideout Golf Club Gross Score 85 Course Handicap 0 Gross Strokes over/under par 13 Net Score to Par 13 Net Score 85 Net Birdies or better 0 Longest Drive 292 SIM Round? SIM I am not very good at sim golf! But this was a good time.
  8. Good morning Spies! Looking forward to a 9 am sim round. Then it’s off to work, and a fun weekend. Maybe I will bundle up and play tomorrow too, but it’s not supposed to break 40 degrees F, so … maybe. I wish you all fabulous days and a great weekend!
  9. I could have authored this. Esp after all the good info and discussion on the forum community call today. (Thanks again for that.)
  10. Come on by @jbern. I will gladly trade sim time for more hands.
  11. Get that garage cleaned out and you are ready to go!
  12. Good morning, Spies! It's a balmy February day in Indy. 52* at present, which is 6* warmer than at my parents' place in Tampa. Should I call them and casually ask about the weather? Made it to the office early. I tried all the way here to turn the SOS mode off on my phone. Figured it was a fat thumb error. Nope. The nationwide cellular outage has hit Indy. I am fortunate to have functioning wifi at home and work; I feel for all those whose lives will be disrupted by this today. And I truly hope the cause is not something nefarious. @berkeleybob wishing you the very best for your pup today. I wish you all wonderful days!
  13. A neighbor kindly helped me make some progress tonight. This is wearing me out. Ha.
  14. Notice just arrived from FedEx. A package is scheduled for delivery before 8:00 p.m. tomorrow.
  15. I ponder this at least once a month. How much distance would I be willing to sacrifice to hit more fairways? Assuming distance would be lost, that is, which may not be the case. This is an experiment worth more research for certain. @jbern has the right idea - choking up on the grip to give this a shot. Or, one of us Qi10 testers needs to win the lottery and buy the rest of us shafts in 1/2" increments to test out as part of this amazing opportunity. Heck, do it for all the MGS forum members. Purchase your lotto tix today!
  16. These are important questions, @HikingMike. And I think the answer is very personalized. According to this recent article, average driver length on tour is 44.5" https://www.todays-golfer.com/features/equipment-features/2020/june/driver-shaft-length/ Note too how the article says many in its testing group hit *longer* drives with a shorter shaft due to better strikes. Tiger apparently plays 43.5" FWIW. After all my other tinkering and testing, I intend this summer to try at 44.5" or even 44" to see how it affects fairways hit. UPDATE: Here is one of several MGS threads on this issue:
  17. Good morning, Spies! Lots going on here today. @GolfSpy_APH Jamie best of luck with your move. @Marlin Dave Hope you have a great haul. Pics required. @sirchunksalot Hope you have a great round later today! @Josh Parker No doubt everyone will love the new tub. It may be a long day of anticipation. @Dead Solid Bogey Your toast people in the hot tub? Hilarious. My youngest daughter really took to her first golf lesson. She has danced for nearly all her 17 years, and so has a remarkable ability to implement instructions immediately. After an hour she was hitting her 7 iron consistently straight at 120 yards. She will hit it a lot longer soon. And she loved it. I had good practice in another bay during the lesson, focusing on driver to try to be ready for the fun part of the Qi10 test. Feels like it’s coming together. I wish you all wonderful Wednesdays!
  18. Great review @Rob Person. And a gorgeous putter too!
  19. Great questions @jbern. In my case, I have played driver at 44 - 45" for several years. I find that it greatly increases my accuracy. Every time I try a full length shaft, I end up going back for that reason. I did not take the opportunity to hit other heads in the fitting. I hope to sometime soon!
  20. There are so many good options out there. Pricing with all the different subscription plans is tough to figure out too. I predict you will love the Garmin. The reviews I read give it great ratings.
  21. Thank you @GolfSpy_KFT! I opted for a used Foresight GC2. It's no longer state of the art, but pretty darn good, and no subscriptions.
  22. Thank goodness it's not a race! You will probably beat me to the finish line @ILMgolfnut b/c I am out of town quite a lot over the next few weeks. Expect delays. Also, as you can attest, cleaning the space and then assembly is a lot of work, especially for someone like me accustomed to flying a desk all day. Well worth it though.
  23. Congratulations to all the testers! Watching this one with great interest.
  24. A quick update. Unboxing is complete, and assembly has started. I goofed and thought I did not have all the parts when I did. That slowed me down. Because my projector attaches to the sim enclosure, the crossbeams (front and back top) are not EMT, but are steel trusses to add more strength. This I did not realize until talking with the manufacturer. Here are a few initial progess photos.
