  1. I have a similar swing speed to you. My avg distance off the tee is a little lower due to left to right spin in my stock swing. If I ever hit one straight it goes 245 or so but usually I'm not aiming there. I love playing chrome soft x, but find them expensive. I tried supersoft max (slightly larger but still conforming to the rules) and did notice I liked the higher ball flight and was sacrificing little if any distance. The size difference is so minor you can't notice by sight. My only complaint is they get jammed in my putting mat's ball return.
  2. I'm close to bumping up my # if I order a new utility iron custom I will likely try a No1 50 black. I just think they look really sharp and I'm leaning towards a steel pvd black finish kbs tour v 90 shaft so I think they'd look great together.
  3. Where I'm at in the iron search, likely adding this to my 6-AW. I am leaning toward KBS steel tour v 90 in the black pvd finish. I think the weight and launch are closest to what I want. Tgi tour 70 graphite is definitely lighter than I should have in this club it's inviting too much pace in my swing for the pull. Besides I had the Tgi tour 70 in a club already, I want to see what the tour v 90 feels like. Anyone have input on these? Also, anyone have input on No1 grips? They look cool, but I don't want to make the price higher for something I'm going to cut off. I read a few reviews here already and they all seem positive on the pro 50. Update: Went ahead with the 24° purchase today. Went with No1 grip pro 50 in all black and KBS shaft black pvd steel tour v 90. I can't wait for Sub70 to get this beauty out to me.
  4. I have 1 other score from this time frame already booked and another to come Thursday most likely
  5. Cool, Identified Flying Object
  6. Yeah, I like to the grow the game. So I'm always waiting for a conversation to lead to someone wanting to start out with golf. I've got them covered whenever it comes up.
  7. @Rickp in the back of the garage where the big spiders live, there's a 3-9i Cleveland TA3 form forged with good grips, a 3-LW complete Snake Eyes set with bag with horrible grips, and about 30 other clubs that were either my Dad's or his Uncle's. We've carry this around every time we moved
  8. To quote the inimitable Steve Buschemi in the Sandler movie Big Daddy "This is America, if you don't like spaghetti and meatballs, just get out." Garnished with "a punch" of Parmesan and a slice of pepperoni from last night's pizza.
  9. Thinking how good my guests have it if they come play golf. Just organized a bit and realized I have a choose your adventure going on for a guest hacker. Graphite? Steel? Persimmon head? Wack E clubs, classic styled clubs, SGI.. check check check. I've run through a lot of gear over the years. I love most of this stuff, probably why I still have it.
  10. Update to the update: After posting the above, on the way out one of the employees at Golf Kings came over and handed me a TM burner plus 5i. Said one of the owners said I could have it, it had been lying around. I had mentioned in passing I wanted to try out a 5i. Now I have something new to toy around with and no $ spent. Worst case it's a solid addition to the bag I keep for guests. Best case I decide I can play it next to a club 1/4" shorter and 1.5° higher lofted. Plenty of cheap options like bending loft/lie, or replacing the shaft.
  11. @Syks7 Sounds like we have similar things we're working on, thanks for this video. Something I've been trying lately is (not aloud I'd sound nuts) saying "happy feet happy feet" while i get a footing for the ground under my feet, then "calm feet" when i feel I'm balanced. I don't begin my swing until I say "calm feet" in my head.
  12. Indoor only due to snow, which you might vaguely make out in the photo, @GolfKings Wall update: I played well, but the score is total cheating. For the sake of time I used 2 mulligans on the front instead of playing long arduous efforts through trees. 1 or 2 mulligans on the back I may be counting one I foolishly tried hitting through brush and hit 17 yards forward. The course I played is in in Singapore, water everywhere and some sloped left to right fairways that my Driver fade is doomed.
  13. Any time I look at something in a store or click an email, I swear the club that was being considered for replacement magically wakes up the next round.
  14. Fun reading these. richk9holes origin is my name, Rich K. #9 was my uniform # in little league baseball. We got our uniforms based on the batting order to avoid arguments. I wasn't the worst hitter, but I was the usual starting pitcher for my team and the coach always put the pitcher at #9 for fairness. Joining social media in the late 90s, early 00s I registered for everything as richk9 or richknine. I like the sound of it, like a more technical way of saying "Rich Dogg." In reality, I am of modest means in terms of humans, but relatively speaking I would be a wealthy dog. For this forum, I figured a golf twist was in order. So richk9holes was born.
  15. I go on Twitter about 3 times per year lately, but I will add a follow next time I have the urge to log in.
  16. G'morning to my giant cup of coffee. Just remembered I have to drive North to run an errand for my father, but I still want to go South to Perfect Swing. Going to be a long day driving in the slushy ice.
  17. Tomorrow I'll drive to Perfect Swing in Tom's River to eye any demos they have around and pick the brains of their knowledgeable employees. Will investigate the cost of taking the KBS tgi 70 shaft I have in an extra club and putting a different head on it to compare w/ CC. Slight chance I have them put the 5 grips I have waiting for 7-AW I had planned on doing 1 at a time. The 7i is the only one that almost needs it. Update: no grip changes, got quotes on different equipment fixes for between 5H and 6i. Through some research, I may have found the cheapest fix. The 27.5° EXS 220h that I have on the KBS shaft can be bent +/- 4° according to Tour Edge. Perfect Swing is willing to try bending it 3° strong to 24.5° but can't guarantee it won't break. $15 for labor and risking breaking something worth $15 in trade value seems worth it to see if that club will gap above my 6i.
  18. Only real change is the Superstroke Traxion tour 2.0 that replaces my putters stock grip. It matches what's on my chipper, which I know feels great in my hands and gives the option to add counter weighting in the future. Not going there for now, as the putter is already heavy in terms of total weight. I want to see if a heavier grip will create a little counter to the massive head without making the whole thing too heavy. First impressions it feels more balanced. My 3H changes from 20@22° to the stated loft and 5H changes from 24@25° to stated loft. These changes might address any gapping issues I have between 155-200 yards and make a new 4/5i/UT a complete luxury. Glamor Shots as promised.
  19. I was thinking: I shoot my age all the time, at the par 27.
  20. Some progress in the 5i search. Didn't find anything worth buying but Club Champion had a variety of head shapes to look at while getting my putter regripped. The range I went to had some older model 4i that are about the loft I'm targeting, but no shafts I'd want. Still got to see what address is like with Ping blueprint, i200 TM Stealth, T300 Titleist then in Dick's I saw a ping crossover that could serve the purpose. Too expensive for messing about with testing something I'm not sure I'll stick with.
  21. @Kenny B This is the vicarious life story I wanted and needed, and i think deserve with how cold the rain is here in NJ.
  22. Hole in one. And if I ever get one I'm walking off the course to have a trophy made for myself and "retiring" for a couple months or more.
  23. My personalities and my imaginary caddy had a peaceful solitary afternoon, for sure.
  24. I got a round or 2 in last week @Golfspy_TCB you probably didn't scan that far down the leaderboard hahaha I had decided broke 80 is the badge I want to shoot for, but net birdies is a sweet one too.
  25. Today's light rain had me thinking golf was out, but the extended forecast and the fact I skipped yesterday has me leaning towards playing a quick wet round. Tomorrow is worse rain and possible snow for areas north of me. Wed. they predict 27mph wind. Thursday looks nice, but that would but a 4 day gap in my golfing. I think catching a little rain today is worth keeping my game sharp. Update: No outdoor activities, rain too heavy. Went to Tom's River Golf Center, looked around their pre-owned section for a 5i, hit a small bucket ($7) and felt I hit it where I was aiming 95 % of the time. This place has a net 200 yds out, so cranking long clubs high into it is fun. Then Dick's SG and Club Champion in Long Branch, got a Superstroke Traxion tour 2.0 that matches my chipper, last one they had at Dick's and CC put it on for $6.
