  1. I'd love to know how the original, spaceship-esque design came about. Every big golfing company is pouring millions into R&D for their clubs to come up with more and more forgiving designs, but the giant mallet with the loop and notch seems to wholly unique in the industry.
  2. Considering the weather? I think I played very well Played in a new weekend comp today with a mate (who did not want to finish for some reason), checked the weather app and saw no lightning, and no one had called us in, so I finished the hole and my round. I actually played the worst I have in years, for which I will blame the weather and my currently bad knee and ankle, but putter was absolutely hot. No 3 putts, and drained 2 from 30+ feet.
  3. Congrats testers! I'm definitely not supremely jealous, with a gaping, DF3 sized hole in my heart, and in my admittedly already overgrown putter collection Really keen to see the results of the tests and how they work out
  4. My smart watch has recently died, so I'm currently weighing up my options for a replacement one that's also more golf focussed. The Garmin test last year absolutely makes that one look very tempting, but not sure if that's quite in the budget currently. The Shot Scope V5 looks quite good, and I've just gotten an email about a new Voice Caddie watch too, so I've got a bit of researching to do. I also need a new putter stand because I might have a slight obsession and have run out of room in the current one
  5. Morning spies! Was a busy weekend of watching and playing golf, and continuing to unsuccessfully try purchase a house. Hope you all have a great week ahead (especially whichever lucky buggers get picked for the L.A.B. test, I'm already pre-jealous about that one haha)
  6. Until his late blow up, was good to see Morikawa finding glimpses of the brilliance he had in years past.
  7. Bryson carrying that sign around was hilarious. I'm going to need to print that on a shirt ahead of LIV Adelaide
  8. It's an absolute bloodbath out there this morning at the 15th and 16th. Ball after ball after ball going into the water at both, double bogeys left and right. Makes me feel a lot better about my game, that's for sure edit - Just watched Tom Kim walk off 16 with a bogey after having a short putt for birdie, and Spieth walked off 15 with a quadruple. What on earth is happening out there this morning?

And where was the invite for the rest of us?
  10. Hello friends. This is my favourite week of the year by far, even as an Aussie who's going to be stuck watching golf from 11pm-11am while trying to juggle work, looking for a house, and spending a lot of time at the hospital with my uncle. Still unbelievably hyped to watch The Masters, especially more these days with the giant division in pro golf, it'll be great to see a truly elite field again (sorry Gooch ) On a related note, does anyone have a good way to explain to my wife what pimento cheese is and why I'll be eating it on a sandwich at 3am on Friday while drinking vodka, lemonade and grenadine?
  11. It's the perfect excuse. "I'm sorry honey, I'd love to stay home and tidy up before your parents come over for lunch but..."
  12. Morning all. In what seems to be the theme of the day, I'm also dealing with some bad news today. Just got a call that my uncle, who's been a golfing buddy and taught me a heap of stuff on and off the course since I was a kid, has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and has only been given a few months at best. Make sure you all enjoy the time you have playing with friends and family, and if you haven't done so recently, give a family member a call or message and tell them you love them.
  13. See, this guy gets it. That's why I have 9 putters. Keeps the gamer in line.
  14. I might have accidentally bought another putter. Wasn't even my fault, my wife wanted to out looking at some yard sales, and someone was selling this for $250 AUD (about $160 USD) with the original headcover and grip, and it would have been rude not to buy it for that.
  15. Congrats testers! Really looking forward to this one, very keen to see how the custom configurations work out for everyone
  16. Recently? Back and knee pain flaring up is making things tough. Been seeing a physio, which has helped a bit, but still making it tough.
  17. I just imagine the line the ball will take, like the putting lines in the old Tiger Woods games, and hit it like that. Works for me.
  18. Ah damn that's a shame. The anticipation and excitement of unboxing new clubs when they finally arrive is a huge part of the experience imo. As long as they work on the course though, that's all that matters in the end
  19. Morning all! Had a family member get back from the UK yesterday, apparently they'd made a trip to St Andrews while they were there and brought me back a bag of goodies. Definitely wasn't expecting that, pretty chuffed with it all
  20. I mean, I live in Aus, there's no way I could fly over every year, so definitely play
  21. After having finally got my new irons, and changed around some grips etc, I've settled on my clubs for the year... for now. Driver is working well, but I wouldn't mind trying a new one to see if there's any big difference in forgiveness or distance. Also, new and shiny is fun. Potentially going to test the KBS Tour V wedge shafts too, for both consistency of feel with my irons and to help a bit with full shots, tending to get a little spinnier than I like currently if I have a full wedge in. For now however; Driver - Cobra SpeedZone - 7.5° w/ Aldila Rogue Silver 110MSI 60x - X-Stiff, MCC+4 standard Fairway - Cobra SpeedZone Big Tour 3w - 13° w/ Fujikura Pro 65 - Stiff, MCC+4 standard DI - Cobra King Utility 2i - 16° w/ Project X Hzrdus Black 85 - X-Stiff, MCC+4 standard Irons - Callaway Apex '24 Combo set - 4i Pro, 5i-8i CB, 9i-10i MB w/ KBS Tour V 120 X-Stiff, 2° upright, MCC+4 standard w/ +2 wraps Wedges - Callaway MD5 Jaws 52° - S10° grind, 56° - C8° grind, 60° - C8° grind w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner Tour Issue 115, MCC+4 midsize Putter - Scotty Cameron Special Select Squareback 2.0 w/ midsize Scotty Matador grip Balls - Callaway Chrome Tour (non-triple track) Special mention to the most important thing in my bag - Callaway 15ft Ball Retriever. Fantastic for getting balls from creeks, through fences, and a roof in one occasion Also, shoutout to @TSauer, who's animation idea I have shamelessly stolen
  22. After hassling the Callaway rep the last time I saw him at the range for a sleeve of balls to test first, I'm now locked and loaded for the '24 season with new balls. Great feel off the face, and good stopping power even on short chips around the green. Saw a small increase in ball speed across the board, and decent increase specifically on my driver shots vs the old model Chrome Soft balls. I reckon Callaway finally has a real competitor to the Pro V1 here
  23. @huntforparfection Feel free to tag me in anything and everything
  24. Depends on the teebox tbh. If it's a nice teebox I won't generally, if it's a bit crap I will just to have a neutral point to hit from
