  1. Which tee box do you typically play from when carrying fewer clubs and which clubs? I really liked playing the senior tees. Mainly to work on my approach and leaving the driver in the truck to eliminate the temptation lol.
  2. Played a last minute front 9 at my home course carrying a Sunday Golf Loma bag, 6 clubs (4hy,6,8,P,54 & putter) from the Super Senior tees. Shot a poor 46 with a lost plugged ball on #1 w/ an 8 total (huge down poor before round and record rain in our area, thanks Debby) and an abysmal 19 putts. In my defense, I took zero time to line up putts with only about an 1hr 15 minutes to wrap it up. Now that all of the excuses are out of the way... I loved it! Will definitely do more of these. I'm also planning to swap the 8,P and 54 for the 9,G and 58 though. I've always heard it's perfect for learning to get creative and break the typical cycle of club selection and tee box.
  3. Happy Birthday to my fellow Birthday Ladies and Gentlemen!
  4. Very happy to see/read this. Just ordered zx5 mkii 5-A in tour lite X and was concerned it may be a bit of an oxymoron to get lite, X stiff shafts but I need help with trajectory and spin. From the little out there on Tour Lite X I was a bit concerned until now. 8-9 don't get crazy high or balloon on you? Any feedback now? I'm averaging 83 to 85 mph with 7 iron and thay seems to be the sweet spot for these but I'd like to get up to 90 mph before too long and hope I can still play these at that point.

Not as planned but I enjoy playing with anyone honestly so it was a good time. Went 42 front 46 back. With the sun setting around hole 16 we started rushing to finish and got a little sloppy. My driver absolutely stole the show today! Hit 9 fairways and the missed fairways were only a few feet off. Best day with my driver I believe I've ever had with 64% of fairways hit. Putter was runner up with 33 true putts from/on the green but Texas wedged probably 3 more from about 3 feet off. No drops or OB shots. Short chips and a few putts that were left pitifully short kept me from low 80s. Eagle putt (one from about 2ft off the green) saw the bottom of the cup but rolled past with too much speed to drop but. Missed the follow up birdie on the low side after watching two putts break that way so that's on me smh...par. Focus on tempo and contact paid off greatly today this is a low round for me (3rd best).
  6. Hey guys I was wondering if there was a badge for a T2 in the virtual tour or first only?

After hole 3 it rained for the remainder of the round. Considering the rain and lack of warm up I'm not terribly disappointed, this is my average score. I did nothing incredibly well aside from really dialing in my focus and intention on the back nine for a 43 after a disappointing 47 on the front with two drops. Really hope to build off of the positive "feels" from this round to start "taking dead aim" (-Harvey Pineck) and playing every shot with more intention and control.
  8. I'm a member at Berkeley too! Would love to meet up some time for a round! I was surprised to see two locals in the same test group.

An OB tee shot on 6 (2ft right of stake, took a 2 stroke penalty to drop instead of teeing up again), missing a birdie putt from five ft to then 3 putt for bogey on 17 and a double bogey on 18 kept me from another record low round. A light rain for the first six holes didn't make the conditions any worse after a week of steady rain. Needless to say it was soft. Very happy overall! Go low this week guys and good luck! If I calculated net birdies correct I believe I have 6.
  11. Very cool! Can't wait to post more scores and learn more about "the tour". Congratulations to Mr_BogeyPro for taking first!
  12. Congratulations! These grips weren't even on my radar before this test. I'm looking to swap my CBX grips soon and these are on the short list now. I hope you all shave strokes with them. Dilly dilly

Everything just clicked that day even though I had zero warm up time and no intention of actually shooting low. If I can even come close to this again in 2023 I'll be amazed . In all fairness this course is incredibly forgiving with gentle doglegs, wide fairways and fairly large greens. I hit one ball OB on 17 which cost me breaking 80 but also had an errant 4 iron slice take a substantial member bounce off a tree, back onto the fairway on the very same hole (par 5 that is very accessible in 2). I followed this performance up with a 96 on a neighboring course I've played three times now lol. My key take away was that any given day can be your best. I'll be chasing this score for a while, wish me luck. Also my first and likely best round I'll ever post on the VGT.
