  1. Nelly Korda - beautiful form, perfect tempo. She's so fun to watch.
  2. Literally just bought Payntr 003F shoes -- love them already. Comfortable, seem easy to wipe clean. Looking forward to this rain going away, so we can head out more regularly!
  3. Took a lesson last week to work on my stance, distance from the ball, with my irons and wedges. I have been really working on that, as I tend to stand further away, and my posture suffers. When I stand closer, ball is straighter and I have much more control over my follow through to avoid my signature hook to the left. PGA pro gave me a few drills to work on that I can do at the range, so very grateful for that!
  4. Hi all - revitalizing this conversation here, as I am sure many of us are shopping for the upcoming golf season. I am in Buffalo, NY, so patiently waiting to get back out there but a mild spring (so far) has us all really excited. BOA is hot right now, any opinions? I struggle with the location of the wheel. The top of the foot just looks uncomfortable to me, as I have seen in a few brands. I am really curious about Payntr. Anyone have them? Love them?
  5. Would love to see women's iron testing. Recently was fitted for a new set (went with Taylor Made) and tried Kalea, Qi10, Callaway Reva, Ping, and Mizuno. Really loved the Mizuno but the weight of them seemed too much for me to play 18 consistently. It's frustrating from the women's perspective because we are pigeonholed into full sets with this ridiculously huge cart bag, because women apparently cannot walk and carry our bags/use push carts. Irons are tough to navigate, and the options at many of these fitting places is slim, so I would love an opportunity to test and write about my experience in hopes of helping women select their ideal brand and set.
  6. Hi all! Beyond excited to have found this group. My husband has been following My Golf Spy and mentioned it to me as a way to find great women's products and stay in touch with other female golfers. I've been golfing since I was four, as my mom was passionate about learning to play the game but unfortunately, not many women played at the time. We belonged to a local golf club in the Rochester, NY area and they didn't even have a weekly women's league, which she wanted to see changed and eventually did. I took my first lessons at Big Oak Golf Range - shoutout to Western New York! I fell in love with golf and played until I started our family in 2019. My husband is a dedicated golfer as well and it's something we bonded over early in our relationship, and we'd go golfing for date nights! We had so much fun. Once I was pregnant with my first, mobility issues and body changes kept me from playing, then covid, then my second tough pregnancy. I picked up a club again for the first time this past summer and I feel like I am back! I am looking forward to developing my game for my postpartum body and getting back into the swing (no pun intended :)) We belong to a country club in the Southtowns of Buffalo, NY, where I live now, so that's my home course and I try to play once per week. I have TaylorMade Kalea and adore them thus far. It was between the Kalea and the Qi10 recently, as I upgraded my clubs from the TM RocketBallz and Callaway Gems I had since forever, so hoping I made the best choice for my game long term. I find my short game challenging; chipping is not my strength whatsoever. My strengths are reading the course and my approach, as I have a good judge of distance with my knowledge of my own ability/what clubs to use to get me so far. Looking forward to connecting with you!
  7. I've never been selected as a tester, and am brand new to the forum, but am interested in testing specifically for the women's golf point of view. Not knocking men's products or the need to test them but women have truly embraced golfing in recent years, and to say that I am excited about this wave of women that has occurred is an understatement. When my mom needed a golf partner back in 1993, because golf wasn't flooded with female golfers at that time, I started lessons in Rochester, NY at Big Oak at the age of four. "Just make contact" -- that was the best advice I have been given in all of my years that has stayed with me...just show up. I now teach my four-year-old daughter that lesson -- silence the noise, who cares who is watching because you are showing up for you. Just make the contact and we can go from there. Being relatable is the first lesson of golf, you can do it all, if you show up and try. I took a break from golf when we decided to have our two daughters, who I hope will love the game and have this ability in their back pockets when they need a seat at the corporate golf tournament table, to have as they age to stay active, or even if it's a party trick like it has been for mom with the hilarious "wait, you golf?!" comments when people learn more about me. I hope that one day, when my daughters walk into a golf pro shop, there will be more than one rack of women's clothes and one quarter-sized wall of clubs, and the demand from female golfers happening right now shows me it is around the corner for us. In the 90's, I remember how little women's/girls' equipment was available to try in-person, it was Lady Hagen attire, and pink golf balls. How far we have come! So, anyway, I'd like to be considered for testing because I am a woman golfer, I love the game and am trying so hard to support the women and girls in our community who want to take the jump into golf, and it helps that I write for a living. My day job writing for a top research institution in Western New York certainly helps, too. Thanks for the potential opportunity, I look forward to making women's golf, and the equipment we use, relatable for all.
