Great finish today! Sunday Men's Club, windy first hour, 2 bogeys and a double in the first six, a quick +4, which has kind of become my standard of play of late (sorry to say)!
Hit a good shot on 7, made an easy par. Then hit 4 wonderful shots in a row which resulted in back to back birdies to finish the front. (+2-37)
Kept it going on the back, had many good looks for birdie (made 1 on the 12th) and made 3 up and downs for par. Left my name on the KP flag for the 16th hole (won't know if it was beaten until the Club Captain puts out the results). -1 on the back for a total +1 - 72. I won the day and played the last 12 in -3! Best result in quite a while!
    12 GIR, 11 Fwys, 29 putts.
Very pleased with myself after such a so-so start!
    Cheers and FORE!
    Mike

I have been on a roller coaster for the past year and right now, I’m not sure where I’m headed. My index over the past twelve months has gone from 1.7 up to 6 and now back down to 2. It’s nice to be playing well but so damn inconsistent. Last four rounds have been 73,72( almost all pars with a birdie and bogey thrown in) 85! With some doubles and today a 76 with five birdies. Every day something works and something doesn’t , how do you guys who are fairly consistent do it?

It's golf, there is no consistency other than being inconsistent! 🤪

I LOVE it when the tour/equipment manufacturers put out stuff like this. This week at Castle Pines, Co. -- Ping has a cheat sheet for the elevation adjustments for their players. PLEASE NOTE THE YELLOW CIRCLED "BASELINE" -- that is at zero feet of elevation and basically what I assume they are calculating as "Tour Average" at sea level:

Alrighty - let's use some of the metrics that have been thrown out in this thread:
Okay, so the driver distance above is 304 yds. A quick google says the math is Driver distance * 28 so for these guys that is --> 304 * 28 = 8,512 yds! Anyone want to guess how many 8,500 yd courses there are on tour/majors?
Or you can use the 5 iron * 36 --> in the tour example above that would be 222 * 36 = 7,992 yds. That is actually fairly close to Castle Pines in Colorado but, of course, that is playing at 6500 ft in altitude so to do that calc you would have to use the chart above. The Castle Pines course should be 222 + 21 (85 degree adjustment at altitude) = 243 * 36 = 8,748 yards in order to challenge these players...which would be ludicrous. Again, all this is to show THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD DON'T GET PUT TO THE SAME DISTANCE TEST MOST AMATEURS SUBJECT THEMSELVES TO!

This morning was the club championship for our little course.  Some under 25 yo bombers, some 30-40 somethings and one 60+ old guy in the championship flight.
And score one for the old guy!!  I shot a one under 71 to squeak out a one shot win!!   🏆
A good day of ball striking hitting 11/15 fairways and 14/18 gir.  Two birdies and an eagle balanced out 3 bogeys.  I only made 1 putt over 8' all day even with all the birdie looks.   Putting speed was pretty good i was over reading the breaks on most putts and burning edges.
I was paired up with a couple fun guys i know from the league so the company was great.  It was nice to make solid contact all day.

Best round of the year so far, shot a 77.
Ball striking was good today, but the biggest thing was distance control.  Everything was pin high.  Had 3 birdies in a row…last was a tap in from 6 inches that I just missed jarring it!
