  1. Todays theme was all out speed swings, and I had a couple bombs for sure . 283, 277, a couple 260 and 250 jobs. The thing I’m wrestling with is transferring the speed swing training into my real game swings. But fairway woods and irons are going longer without really trying, so that’s interesting. Scored OK, but fortunately sunk a 20 footer for a birdie to keep out of the 80’son 18… whew
  2. Hit a couple bombs today, 283, 277, a few 260’s, etc. hit a 7 wood 220 haha. That’s my 180-190 club…
  3. Just finished todays session. Small gains, but still, there are gains. Some areas were a bit weaker, but not crazy. What I like are the pre and post Driver gains, although I dont use this swing when I play, and its the John Daly version. But I do think Im going to try to add this swing into play tomorrow, to see what it does. Im getting 103-106 mph, with 260 carry now and then, and I want to see what it might do on the real track. Thats kind of the scary part of this whole deal, is that I'm almost afraid to swing in training mode, at the real game. As I Play almost every day, I shouldn't be too worried about it and just let it rip, and if it goes awry, theres always tomorrow.
  4. Man I thought I was gunna tear it up today with a +1 front. But then the back 9 started and I went +8 gahhh. 4 doubles on the back! I mean holy crap! One of the greatest collapses of my life. And the weird part was that I was hitting great shots in-between all the crap shots. I lipped two birdie putts that could have dropped as well. It was definitely a twilight zone thing...
  5. It’s good you’re keeping it scientific, without bias, as I did…
  6. Well I voted for chi sag, Fred, and noble. Just because my vote evened up the score at 19-19…
  7. Haha, good pick for first thread to participate in. Please buckle up…
  8. haha Berg, I hear ya on the sweating thing! But I'm locked into my steel garage/quansit hut, when its 75*. Today, I way overdid everything, and took hundreds of swings, and all that after my morning round. minor gains and losses across the board, but the most interesting thing was hitting an old, stiff, steel shafted, cobra blade, 7-iron, after hitting my stiff flex recoil graphite Hogan ptx. And so this may be a question for the good Doctor. after numerous good swings and strikes with the stiff recoil Hogan ptx, my max today was 88mph, at 174 yards, which is a good hit. After that I switched to the stiff flex steel shafted cobra blade and had 2-3 over 90 mph, but the real gagger was getting these hits to carry over 180 yds, 3 of them in fact. I thought it was a mis-read at first, but then got a few more with the same results. So the question is, do steel shafts go faster and kick harder? Am I losing distance with my switch to graphite shafts? Why would a 30 year old blade go faster and longer than a new tech club... Things that make ya go hmmmmm
  9. How could I forget the other shot of the day.. Hit a crap drive that left me in the bark, 177 to a back right peninsula pin. Decided to give the "para-nine" wood a chance, and she landed 6 feet sort of the pin, and then rolled out to about a 15 foot birdie try. Which of course I missed, but by maybe 1/4 of an inch. I mean that would have been a birdie for the ages..
  10. My typical +5 thru 6, then a bird on 8. then played clean thru till 15 and promptly plunked one into the drink for another double- that’s 3 doubles this round- barely escaped with a 79, but obviously kept out of the 80’s. That back to back double on the front seems to be a reoccurring theme lately, and it would be a better deal to stop doing so poorly on the front- apparently one of the hazards of being the first off every morning
  11. Had 140 in, but had 2 trees in front of me that made me question how high I could hit my 8 iron… so I decided to try a fade around. Took an extra club, aimed to opening, and aimed face at the pin- took a smooth swing and dog gonnit if it didn’t fade right out over the cliff of death, and then back in to the flag- left me a 14 footer birdie which I promptly missed…
  12. congrats testers- Ive been trying the base app (free version) and its been OK, but I've found that it freezes up a lot. Looking forward to hearing the unlocked versions abilities=
  13. off to my normal crappy start at the crack of dawn, and shot a +6 on the front. then went -1 from there for a nice clean 76, and got beat by 5... had a cool 115 PW go in on a blind green for an eagle.
  14. well, Im kinda up and down depending on which club and which hand. But, the most important ones are up. The pre and post session driver swings are up to 102 pre, and 104 post. I tried crazy fast swings first 9 this mornings round, but only had one good one, and the rest just ho-hum. But back 9 I just did my normal swing , and had great results, with a couple 260-270 jobs.
  15. haha, same hole today as yesterdays, I missed the bunker with a good drive, and had a blind 115 yard PW. Sooo, I hit it just perfectly and crossed my fingers that it landed somewhere near the hole. We all drove up to the green, and noticed there was only 2 balls on the green, but no sign of the third. Sooo, dejectedly I grabbed my wedge along with my putter to go search the thick perimeter grass. As I scanned around I decided to do the walk by the cup and futility look to see if it was there. At that moment when I peeked in, the angels began to sing and lo and behold, there was my ball! Eagle two baby!
  16. hit a 7 wood out of a bunker over a ravine onto the green from 170... then 3-putted for a bogie...
  17. shot an ok 78, but my buddy threw down a super clean 71
  18. So interesting to me that your step swing is slower than your normal swing. Total opposite for me.
  19. Good luck guys, those clubs look very tuff to hit. For your sakes, I hope not…
  20. thats gnarly Gavinski! had my first pre-session 100mph driver swing today, but only had one crushed drive during this mornings real golf round... Its hard to get the driver speed up at the crack of dawn...
  21. sounds like my type of weekly scoring...
  22. horrid fron at 6 over, but went clean up until 17, then got a stupid double with a chunked chip .But still saved a 79, and stayed out of the dreaded 80's. the long weekends seem to kill me
  23. haha, and here I was thinking it was warm with our 59* startup temp. Only needing 1 sweatshirt
  24. I skipped playing real golf today due to a scheduling conflict, but instead did my swing speed training session. This was the first session I've ever done without actually playing my normal crack of dawn round with the boys. Heres a quick recap, as many of you might not get over to follow that testing program... Hit a few high points that are worth sharing... 'wow, what a session. Sweating like a fat heavyweight boxer after 2 rounds. Apparently doing a training session after a round is a little slower than not playing. Set many records with todays session, including a 105 mph driver post session, along with a 91 mph 7-iron. That thing carried 171... wowwww. Best part of that is that the previous swing was 89 mph, but had a 1.33 smash compared to the 1.30 smash of the 91 mph, which actually carried 172... **grin** that just shows why the smash factor is so important'
