So, last year the only eagles I was missing were on the front 9 par 5s, which are 3 and 9. It got to be mental because I generally eagle both those holes a decent amount.. Well, yesterday I eagled both of them in the same 9 holes in route to a spiffy-6, 30 on holes 2 through 10. Irony at it's finest haha

While I understand your point, this is literally the only event of the year where we are having to play the weaker of two PGA tour fields. The other scenarios you've thrown out there are for other tours or for events where players choose not to play due to their own scheduling issues, making them much different situations. The ONLY reason we've had to play this event in the past is because Fantrax can't score the WGC. This year, we have to ability to skip it for the first time. Would I rather play the WGC than skip a week? Sure I would, but that option isn't available to us currently. Fantrax's system is also the only reason that we don't have the ability to have matchups vs everyone each week. Hopefully both are things that change in the future. I'm not sure who all was around for the MGS Yahoo fantasy golf leagues back in the day, but we had the same issues with Yahoo not scoring the WGC then as well. We always skipped that week as opposed to playing the opposite field event. It was the only time of the year that the scoring format limited us to playing the secondary event. Edit: Scratch that, we can't play Zurich either. Again because of format issues, but there is no secondary event that week.

It was explained to us like this: Fantrax uses a 3rd party site to collect all of the scoring data from the events. The 3rd party site they use, doesn't track pars/ birdies/ bogeys etc for the matchplay because all that matters is who won the hole. Half the time players scoop putts and what not or are given putts. So there is no way for the scoring to be accurate anyway. Unfortunately for us, there is a not enough incentive for Fantrax to figure out a workaround for this.

We've been talking about making it a bye week for quite a long time, but didn't have the ability to in previous years. Nobody has been able to add players right now, only drop unwanted players from their rosters. The last minute nature of this is why we are putting it to a league vote, instead of removing it from the schedule without asking everyone's opinion. Edit: lack of proofreading

We've had this discussion multiple times including in the past week. Fantrax has no way to score the event since it is matchplay.

I guess so, but I'd rather have the best field available, if they are playing. It would be different if it were a standalone event, instead of an opposite field event. To me, I'd rather have an off week than to play an opposite field event.

Why? I debated manually scoring the match play so we could get in on the schedule instead, but we have too many teams.

I think my average is 7,XXX ish. If only I'd bought more then and sold less during the climb.

Get in line behind the highest scoring team in the league

A few years back I was the highest scoring team in the league and was in dead last place through the first quarter of the season. I won it that year. Things will even out eventually. Edit: and the commissioners wanted to keep the all vs all match ups but we couldn't get schedules to populate on fantrax bc we had too many teams in the league. So it was either kick people out or change the league schedule.

I loved Scott, but I was only sad to see him go until I saw who they hired. He was a great motivator, but his training/ injury prevention methods had zero science behind them. 100% old school S&C meathead. Ballou brings a totally different approach which I appreciate. Edit: Not saying that he was the reason why so many players were injured under his watch. There was a lot of bad luck involved with that. I just don't think he did much to prevent injuries with his training methods.

I honestly don't love it. I think Bill is a good coordinator historically iirc and will do much better in that role than he did at Houston, but I think there's scar tissue there. He's not the offensive schemer than sark is either. Who knows though, the Saban school of coaching rehab fixes many. On a side note, it was fairly BS of Sark to take assistants with him on his way out. I hate that just as I think that its BS that schools can higher away coaches or their staffs during the season, for next season. That's something that needs to change in CFB but won't anytime soon. They regulate the hell out of the players but have no issue with anyone else doing bad business. The NCAA blows!

For sure! And if this were a paid league I'd be campaigning harder for start/sit myself. I much prefer it. But the vote went the other way so we gotta work with what we've got. I still like my chances at the title
