  1. ... I guess I will have to repeat myself forever. Such is the weight of the crown. I and others here that think the world of Westerns revolves around Deadwood, certainly don't look down on anyone that didn't have the opportunity or inclination to watch the best Western ever made. We are family here with unlimited support for those mentally disadvantaged that would be hard pressed to fathom the dissimilarity betwixt Walmart and Whole Foods, the only similarity being they begin with "W". You do not deserve our pity or scorn and instead warrant our proper comprehension of your menial aptitude. Or of course we will just laugh at you on the inside ...
  2. ... Well let me give you a warning. Place your Southern gentleman language appreciation on the shelf before entering the world of Deadwood. You will never hear more foul and I mean very foul language than you hear on this show. That said, you quickly become immune and the use of the rest of the English language has never been as utilized before or since. As Ben reminded me earlier, it is truly a masterpiece of writing.
  3. ... I have tried to ignore 95% of members that seem to think a new putter is needed. Or wanted. Or traded for. Or put in a time out. Or just lusted for. But it is relentless. I posted this earlier but I rarely changed my putter back in Chicago but the transition from smooth bent to grainy Bermuda greens had me go through several different putters before finding a mallet that works well. Then the Cobra Challenge had me playing the Sport-60 and the SIK face is awesome so I am quite happy with it. ... That said and without a vaccine for this MGS disease, the thought of combining the Evnroll roll face technology with a 5.1 mallet head that can be custom built without a sightline is proving to be too much to ignore. I don't know why I am putting it off because it's gonna happen sooner or later.
  4. ... Try and keep up Shanks. Deadwood is a Western which evidently became todays theme. So Bobby don't exist. Ellsworth was a good guy and a great character and why I chose him for you but if you want closer to home and filmed in Tennessee, you could claim AL from Old Henry:
  5. ... OK, my young (or older) tech savvy Saloon friends, is there a way to permanently disable "Follow" on this thread? Every time I post it starts up again. I'll disconnect from my AOL account and wait for an answer.
  6. ... I used to play with the #1 rated TV meteorologist in Chicago. I asked him with all the technology available to him how accurate are his predictions? ... He said with the Canadian jet stream always changing in both speed and direction, and hitting any southern flow of warm air AND being on the shores of an ocean sized Lake Michigan and depending on what time of year? He could predict a very accurate forecast for the next hour A reasonably accurate forecast for later in the evening About a 50% chance of getting the next day correct No clue about a 5 day forecast because everything always changed by then ... So he did away with the 5 day forecast and the station got so many immediate inquires as to why as well as angry complaints, he had to bring it back the next day. So he often just made up the 4th and 5th days forecast depending on whether he was playing golf that day!
  7. ... I live and work in a make believe world my friend.
  8. ... I would also recommend unchecking the Follow feature if you will be spending time here anyway. Nothing like going back after not checking email for 2.5 hours and seeing "Inbox 211"
  9. ... No Ben, I would be remiss. Good catch and thanks for adding that!
  10. ... Exactly. As an actor, a film aficionado and a western lover, Deadwood is unparalleled. Every episode is like a mini film. The production values, the acting, the story and the ensemble cast is unlike anything before or after. I have the entire series on DVD and watch it all again about every 5 years.
  11. ... I repeat: This is a friendly home for all and no judgement is passed here. You are among friends. That said:
  12. ... Haha love the Good, the Bad and the Ugly! (My favorite painting below) That said, this is not TikTok or a Knitting Forum so CATS are forbidden in the After Hours Spy Saloon! ***This is your first cat warning***
  13. ... Too late amigo. Sirchunks is Ellsworth. Your choice of course but may I suggest:
  14. ... He was the only actor to play 2 different roles and he is so talented most didn't know it was the same actor. So even though that doesn't really fit you, one could call him a sandbagger doing two different roles!
  15. ... For you and the regular contributors, feel free to cast yourselves as any Deadwood character. You are safe here and nobody will make fun of your personal choice !
  16. ... And now that you have brought it up, I might as well bring those not familiar with the Cobra Cast up to speed via Deadwood. @chisag @Tom the Golf Nut @sirchunksalot @Jnoble89 @CFreddie (with my adult supervision) @Jerry B
  17. ... I had you pegged as more of an Earl Brown type but obviously if you self identify as a Mikey Fox that's cool too.
  18. After being selected for the Cobra 50th Anniversary Special (and a HUGE thanks to MGS and Cobra!) the fun for the 6 testers and the forum challengers as well as those just commenting on the competition was off the charts. As always with golf forums I imagine there were a fair share of lurkers that did not participate but enjoyed the constant back and forth between valuable golf information and complete and utter nonsense. Just like playing on any team for a season, when it ends you miss the competition. But it is the time spent together and the camaraderie, the daily interactions and the friendly trash talkin' that is missed even more. So I am starting a new thread where the camaraderie and craziness can continue forever!!! The main attribute of the Cobra 50th Anniversary thread was constantly entertaining pictures, memes, gifs and videos. We hope to continue that here. Whether you actively participate or just occassinaly join in or are just a reader but non contributor I hope you find this your new daily hangout. Welcome to the After Hours Spy Saloon!
  19. ... Thanks and not that I am complaining while I am obviously complaining, but the clients were taking me out to a really nice restaurant in Portland as a big Thank You for the long hours in front of the camera, in a suit and tie under the hot lights with constant script changes. But because of circumstances out of their control Wednesdays 12 hr day turned into a 17.5 hour day/night and best they could do was have some pizza delivered to the set. At least it was really good pizza!
  20. ... After working 14 hours Tuesday and 17.5 hours Wednesday, then flying back Thursday I crashed last night and woke up 10.5 hours later. Brain had a nice reboot. So I'll be starting the After Hours Spy Saloon later today. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. ... Love to post some Cobra equipment comments after more rounds but it has been two weeks since I played any golf thanks to work (yea!) and the record temps above 110* and most of those days 114* to 118* (boo!). But it looks like a respite is coming Monday dropping from 115* today thru Sunday and under 110* Monday for 3 days and I will be playing all of them. Back up to 114* Friday I am really looking forward to the Cobra's blending in with the rest of my bag to see what my new norm is like.
  21. ... Is it morning yet? For those contemplating a career in glamorous Showbiz or have kids thinking about it, I just wrapped up my shoot last night. It takes an hour for makeup and hair because they need to color match previous infomercials/commercials. After an easy 6 hr day for prep on Monday, I started at 5:45a Tuesday and finished at 7:45p. Pretty tired after 14 hours so crashed early. Wednesday started at 5:45a and wrapped up at 5:30p. I went back to my hotel and took a shower washing off the makeup and shampooed twice to get the dye out of my hair. Ready for a meal at a really nice restaurant with the clients rewarding me for 2 long days and still wet, I get a phone call from the Producer that some wording changes had to be made and could I come right back to the set? ... So back I went, another hour for makeup and hair coloring and because matching editing would be difficult we had to shoot large sections again. We finally wrapped at 11:15p and for those keeping track, that is a 17 1/2 day where the last take has to be just as fresh, both physically and mentally as the first take. Kinda like taking an SAT/ACT test for almost 18 hours while looking your best. Including transportation to and from the set I worked 33 1/2 hours out of 48 and 31 1/2 hours in front of the camera. By far the most challenging two days of my 42 years in showbiz. ... As always I am not complaining and thankful for the work, love the people I work with and for, and I am paid very well. I know too many work in stressful environments, poor working conditions with unpleasant co workers and bosses for far less pay than they deserve or even worse they can't find a job. But these two days would have been tough for a 22yr old and I am glad to be sipping some coffee and flying home to Phoenix and 115* temps today.
  22. ... Congrats! But get this out of your system now because after we start the After Hours Spy Saloon ... anyone that posts a cat picture, meme, gif or video:
  23. ... Com'on man. You voted for Team #1. You knew we would win as soon as you saw that the first four idiot Mods didn't pick me. Tom, Jerry and Shanks are ready to put this very, very sad chapter of their life behind them and move on with their Cobra lives. So why are you trying to give them false hope and prolong their agony?
  24. ... I am still in Portland shooting but this Friday I will start the After Hours Spy Saloon thread. Hopefully continuation of this thread and any/all the other teasers threads that were fun and ended. I will post it here so you guys know when to jump in. I have never used memes, photos and videos and what fun it is! That will continue on the new thread.
