  1. Thanks. Are the essential aromatic amino acids not as important for the muscles (phenylalanine and tryptophan). Trp is found in relatively high amounts in turkey. Phe in diet coke.
  2. As someone new to this information, can you post the long form of the abbreviations too so I can follow along? BCAA's?
  3. Well i hit the range again on Sunday. Haggin is a mess as they update the range to mega fancy so the mats are on the infield grass. Ditched the "tall" address and really focused on slow from the top. bottom of the pool slow, and it made a difference. No real loss of distance either. silly game when the hook came back I could feel that I was fast and my right arm/elbow separated from my body early. still think that the burners lack the feel of the MX200's but no new irons yet. hoping to play on weekend, friday is out because of a funeral ssssssssllllooooowwwwww was magical
  4. http://www.essortment.com/all/whatisrolfing_rllo.htm Quick search into this. The fascia manipulation made me think of it
  5. Standard shift of fat mass to muscle mass. Think that I am about 20 pounds off from target. strength is OK, at 41 I can still bench my body weight (like that matters) but I would like to be leaner. really, overall conditioning to get the body ready for the next 40 years. When lifting regularly, I gain muscle mass quickly, but the toning never seems to happen, regardless of changing weight/reps and etc. Currently doing three days of cardio (running/swimming) and light weights. Most of the weights have been sets of various styles on the pulley machine (not sure of official name) Diet wise, lower carb, very low processed sugars, mainly protein and vegetables. Without going on and on, I am looking for a change that I can incorporate into the daily routine that will be healthier and lead toward general overall fitness. Hopefully some of that made sense, kind of rambled...
  6. Great new thread Michael. Say someone, me, is looking to get fitter and read the above and lost a little in the translation. Where is a beginning resource to start with? Not to seem dull, but I feel ready for a nutritional overhaul to go with the gym time. Thanks
  7. Depends on where you are. You can get good grinders and wheels here at Harbor Freight for cheap. Buffing wheels and stuff too. They don't sell skill though, so my grinder collects dust in the garage. It anyone needs one...
  8. I have a tour model with the original rubber grip that is not in the picture that makes the bag from time to time. Nothing is really going to get rid of the Byron though.
  9. That is outstanding. The headcovers too. This is what I had hoped to do with mine, but I am not a refinisher. I too though am more in the let them go stage...
  10. Getting fixed? {large pictures makes the craftsmanship show quite nicely, even with the cropping issue, again, great work}
  11. This is such a great post for me! Here are the ones in my collection. I was going to try and restore them and then I found out that I am really not good at that. Now I can figure out what they really are! The Tour models really roll the ball quite well.
  12. That is the $10000 question. When I was teaching HS, the only track was college bound. All students need to take the classes to get into college. No other options. Track 2 has to be put together before we can figure out who should be there. NO more depressing ed talk, off to the beer of the week...
  13. Good luck Tim with the new career. Buying my own house about 12 years ago really made me appreciate the craft side of plumbing. All it took was one major issue that I "thought" I could fix for be to be very happy and grateful to write the check to the professional. I am sure that the craft of the previous profession will help the new one.
  14. That's my hope. Look at my swing, diagnose the garbage, give me some drills for a week, and see you again next week. Wash, rinse, repeat, shoot in the 80's
  15. Thanks for the help. My next clump of "golf money" is going to go to a series of lessons, probably with one of the Haggin pros. I can't watch myself and it feels like I have hit a point where everything is going everywhere.
  16. 5'11"/6' Clubs are 1/2" short as per fitting (long arms, short legs) standard L&L It is just such a different ball flight than the one I have been fighting. Straight for 60% then a hard left tail. When I was really bad OTT, it was almost the opposite with the slice.
  17. Going by "what I was told" level of research here. Unofficially, they have a ton of stuff. Strong online store and eBay presence too.
  18. So in my quest to make better contact, I seem to make better contact if I stand taller in my stance. However this brings the heel of the club up and while I feel compression, ball flight is very hooky. I am a classically untrained OTT swinger. Issues with rotation. bla bla bla. Standing taller makes me turn better, or so it seems. Looking at the club though, when I stand taller, I am not hitting the middle of the burners, more like the front 1/3. mat marks toward the toe. I am thinking that maybe I need the Irons bent up a bit. Does this make sense. I remember that up or down promotes left or right, but I don't remember which. It also seems to be more of an issue with the burners than the MX200s but I am sure that is only because I don't own those yet...
  19. I thought that it would be nice to have a place to post the links to good, inexpensive courses in your area. Right now, you may be the only person posting from your city, but as the boards grow in membership, others may appreciate this data. I'll start. The Sacramento area is actually a great place to play on a budget. The majority of courses are around $40 to ride and sometimes under $30 to walk. A few can get dry during the hot summers, but most are nice nearly year round. Here are two close to me. As you move out of Sacramento, there are even more in the outlying areas: Haggin Oaks GC http://www.hagginoaks.com/ Two 18 hole courses, although one is mainly played as nine holes. Rates are average, but the course is well maintained and the pro shop is the largest on course shop west of the Mississippi (so I was told). Ancil Hoffman GC http://www.golfancilhoffman.com/ Feels like playing in a tree-lined zoo somedays. Some of the tight fairways can be a beatdown, but the layout and area are beautiful. $14 unlimited holes walking in the summer afternoons. Many more, of course, but these are the ones I play the most.
  20. As these age and patina, will they get rougher and more spinny like the raw wedges?
  21. I had the same hesitation with CUPDBLZ
