  2. TaylorMade Tech Staff Teams Up With Reynolds Instructors At Premier Golf Training Facility GREENSBORO, Ga. (March 15, 2016) — Integrating superior equipment technology with innovative golf instruction, The Reynolds Kingdom of Golf, presented by TaylorMade, has been transformed into the premier full-game improvement experience in golf and will now be operated by Reynolds Lake Oconee. Reynolds has continued their exclusive partnership with TaylorMade as the presenting sponsor of the Kingdom of Golf. With this sponsorship, all guests will continue to have access to the TaylorMade MATT-T system and instant gratification through the building of clubs in the onsite TaylorMade Tour Trailer. Furthermore, the Reynolds Golf Academy, under the direction of Top 100 instructor Charlie King, has been fully integrated into The Reynolds Kingdom of Golf to provide golfers with a total golf experience. “Game improvement is a cornerstone of the Reynolds lifestyle,” said Mark Lammi, Vice President of Golf Operations for Reynolds Lake Oconee, which has assumed ownership and operation of The Kingdom. “By extending our long-time partnership with TaylorMade and adding in the world class instruction of Charlie King’s team, we will have one of the most premier game-improvement centers in the country. “Taking over the ownership and operations of these platforms means we will be able to continue to offer the existing world-class services of each business, while also allowing us to focus on our current initiatives, which include more access for our resort guests and an increase in our junior and family development programs.” In addition to incorporating these independent businesses into the Reynolds Lake Oconee golf operations, a major expansion of the current Kingdom facility is underway. This expansion includes two fully enclosed hitting bays, three covered and heated hitting areas, TrackMan 4 launch monitors, and high-speed Ximea cameras. This is another example of the $40 million investment in ongoing renovations at Reynolds Lake Oconee. Since opening in 2007, The Kingdom has served as the East Coast fitting center for many PGA and LPGA Tour stars. It is the only TaylorMade venue in the country where recreational golfers can be fit for equipment in the same elite environment used by Tour players and club professionals on staff with TaylorMade. Located between Atlanta and Augusta, Reynolds Lake Oconee already ranked among the most exciting golf experiences in the country with six award-winning golf courses designed by legendary architects Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Rees Jones, Bob Cupp, and Jim Engh. With the launching of the Reynolds Kingdom of Golf, it is now also one of the most complete golf experiences as well. Since MetLife’s initial investment in August 2012, five of the six golf courses have undergone substantial investment and improvements, including Plantation Course, which reopens this spring following a renovation. Additionally, a golf village was built at the National course, and dining areas in the Great Waters clubhouse were renovated. The rooms, cottages, restaurants, spa, and pools of The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee have been redecorated and refurbished. Along with its world-class golf courses, Reynolds Lake Oconee features four marinas, the Lake Club wellness center, and an award-winning tennis center, making it a popular vacation destination. I'm with Hula on seasoning your humidor - always does the trick - and make sure to keep whatever you're using to humidify filled with water or at the best "state" I use beads and LOVE them... really really easy

Not normal. 65 is on the low side, but not terrible... Are they cracking dry, or just not as soft when you squeeze on them? Might want to check that hydrometer
  8. Lapuz creates “Hinotori Touch Putter” Hinotori Touch Putter by Kronos Golf Founder Phillip Lapuz is now on display at the British Golf Museum in St. Andrews, Scotland. Lapuz and his business partner Eric Williams are well known for their success on ABC’s hit show “Shark Tank” pitching their company that sells precision milled and meticulously hand finished golf putters in San Diego. The “Hinotori” was designed by Lapuz over the course of three months, followed by months of polishing to perfection. Lapuz spent time living abroad in Kyoto, Japan, and visiting the Byodoin Temple featured on the Japanese ten yen coin. Lapuz’s design features the Japanese Hinotori which literally translates in English to "bird of fire", or "phoenix." “The high relief engraving design on the Hinotori was inspired by years of traveling throughout Japan and experiencing its many wonders,” Lapuz said. “In particular, the beautiful and intricate representation of those emotions, crafted out of a desire to express my fond feelings of Kyoto. The “Hinotori” is among more than 16,000 golf related items in the collection at the British Golf Museum, known to be one of the most comprehensive golf collections worldwide. “Golfing Links Organization and the British Golf Museum both recognize and respect true golf craftsmanship and knew there wasn’t a better place to showcase the “Hinotori” to golf enthusiasts worldwide than the home of golf, St. Andrews,” shared Golfing Links Organization CEO Vincent Walker. The “Hinotori” will be on display through October, 2016.

    Thread for the Faithful

I'm in the middle of debating which putter will make the trip with me to the PGA show this Thursday... Right now it's between: Bettinardi Studio Stock 12 Kronos Refined Mandala Dave Hicks Anser I may regrip the Betti today for more testing - I'm making the move away from oversized grips back to a pistol style grip. I have a Nike Methold Mod 90 that I'd like to play more with - but it would need significant weight added to the head to get back into the running
  11. TPC just reached out to me to ask about helping promote their current social campaign: #MyGolfResolution Golf Digest runs the #whyilovethisgame and Srixon is pushing #journeytobetter and others promote their own hash tags. So, do you participate? Why? Is it for a prize? To see your photos featured? In the hopes of scoring a free membership? Curious what tags you're using and why. Also, where are you using them? 12. Edinburgh, Scotland, January 14, 2016 - Shot Scope Technologies has launched a dedicated performance tracking golf wearable using innovative technology which allows the golfer to collect performance data automatically. Golfers can use either the Shot Scope app or online platform (www.shotscope.com) to gain insights into their golf game and improve. Today, Shot Scope Technologies has launched an innovative automatic performance tracking wearable for the golf market. The new technology allows the golfer to collect performance data without using a phone, manually tagging or pressing buttons. CEO of Shot Scope, David Hunter said “Shot Scope is the 1st system that allows golfers of all levels to track their game with no interruptions; monitor statistics, identify your trends and use the information to make better decisions on the course. The wristband interacts with unique tags inserted into the grip of every golf club to identify shots, club used and log GPS information.” Shot Scope automatically collects over 100 performance statistics. Information is uploaded through Bluetooth or USB to the Shot Scope dashboard and is displayed in easy-to-consume graphics. Golfers gain actionable insights which help them to identify strengths and weaknesses in their game. The technology equips golfers with the knowledge to play to their strengths on the course and work on weaknesses off it. Shot Scope will be launched to the industry on January 27th at the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, USA. David Hunter commented “The golf world has been extremely supportive throughout the development of Shot Scope. European Tour golfers, professionals, college golfers, and amateur golfers have provided input into the design and are keen to start using Shot Scope in 2016.” The golf industry has been quick to realize the potential of Shot Scope. Providing golfers with technology that doesn’t impede or slow down the game is key to growth in the sector. “Shot Scope has the potential to revolutionize the shot tracking sector” commented Hoyt McGarity, CEO of True Spec Golf (the number 1 custom fitting company), “being fully automatic is key and it will be a great tool for the golfer to improve and learn about their game.” Shot Scope Technologies was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland. From its inception, the one simple aim of the company has been to improve the way in which both amateur and professional golfers collect and analyze statistics. The Shot Scope team, which consists of technology experts and golfers, including a former Walker Cup player (Gavin Dear), set out to develop smart wearable technology that was more intuitive and comprehensive than any current market offering. After two years of development, Shot Scope are delighted to announce the pre-sale of the Shot Scope wristband from January 2016 which provides the golfing community with the chance to reserve their wristband ahead of the worldwide launch.
