  1. Not many times where the dealer is the place to turn to for a cheap fix. Nice!
  2. Yeah, I'd rather the wheels fall off at the range than on the course. My range session before the last round was similar, not much was working. Put it behind me before we teed off and none of the range issues showed up that day.
  3. My Epic oven mitt isn't too bad. I kinda like the old school look, and it covers a bit down the shaft where I'm not concerned about irons whacking the shaft. That said, I agree that for $500 they should give me something better -- maybe if it could do my taxes for me or something, that'd be pretty useful.
  4. First range session with the 900 Tours. I wanted to take the opportunity to see if I could hit long irons, so I ordered them in the set. Let's just say I'm selling an M2 hybrid 4. I was even able to hit the 3i with decent success, the 4i was just getting spanked long and straight. First shot with it was like 200 carry oh what a feeling! 5. Since jlukes did it... snapped a quick picture on my way out the door. Okay, I lied, I took the picture regardless of Jlukes' post -- they're just too beautiful not to take pictures of them.
  6. Hawaii is trying to move to 100% sustainable energy by like 2040 or something, with a large portion being completed by 2020-something. Pretty exciting! We've got sun, wind, and ocean -- the only thing standing in the way of becoming sustainable was the power company. They must've found a way to make it profitable still, bastards.
  7. Always, always get multiple bids. Just remember that you get what you pay for. So if buddy is gonna do it for half, don't expect as good of a job as the 3x guy!
  8. Hadn't heard of them before you bumped Barba's post from a few months back. My $9 UA glove is starting to get crispy, might give these a go. Definitely interested to hear what you think of them when you get a chance to try them!
  9. Too bad that BOGO promo isn't running anymore - free 3w or hybrid with driver purchas
  10. I struggle with distance control using claw as well. I only use it on short putts, like 4' and in. Everything else I'm opposite-hand low.
  11. I'm pretty happy with my V4. I was going to buy one of the Breaking 80 rangefinders when they were on sale for $99, but Amazon won't ship lasers to Hawaii, and they sell via Amazon. So, I was kinda stuck buying one locally. When I was still interested in B80, I asked him when they were going to have the slope version available, and he said probably not for a while, but that it wasn't even really worth it. That's pretty big coming from the manufacturer to me because he's basically selling himself short. Even without the slope, it's still better than a blind guess or a sprinkler head, and I'm thoroughly satisfied with my purchase. I hardly ever walk so waterproof isn't really a big necessity for me, if there's a little rain I can just zap the flag from the cart.
  12. We planned on playing 9 after work today, but it was just too hot. 84 and 60% humidity, just didn't feel like walking in that. We all grabbed a bucket and hit the range instead. Got a couple of hurricanes/depressions heading towards us from California. Hoping that they miss us. We need a little bit of rain, but without the rest of the stuff that comes with it.
  13. Ordered some Chrome Softs. After testing the Pro+ for my review, I think I like the 4-piece feel and performance. Haven't tried another 4-piece ball, so we'll see how the Chrome Softs stack up against the Pro+. If they're not amazing, I'm probably ordering 5 dozen from Vice once they have them in stock. Probably buy some lime ones as well for when I'm feeling.. lime-y. Or if I'm playing and visibility is an issue.
  14. That's sick, just missing some white wall s Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  15. I really like having less taper. It really does help me grip with less pressure, and it seems to be making a difference.
  16. That sucks, but on the bright side, fuel pumps are pretty easy to replace!
  17. Yeah, as I mentioned before, I always thought high hands = more power (I think that was put into my head when I played little league). Then I started watching face-on videos of guys like Rory, and his hands go far back, but they aren't very high above his head. Once I started swinging more around my body and keeping my elbow in, I got a lot more consistency.
  18. For whatever reason it doesn't load on my computer, and I watched it on my phone instead - which was muted
  19. I used to fight a pretty big fade that would slice if I compounded my swing with a heel strike -- part of it was swing, the other part was too soft of a shaft, which just compounded things even further. The way I helped myself to fix it was to make swings where I felt like I was going around my body more. Exaggerating it in my practice like a baseball swing almost, but keeping that feeling in actual shots. It also helped me keep my hands lower (watch Rory's swing, I always thought high hands = higher power). On the down swing, I would try to keep the feeling that my right elbow was going to clip my right hip almost. Maybe sticking a headcover in your right armpit would help you retain that feeling? Once you come over the top, your right arm will become "disconnected" from your body and fall out. You can see what I was working on a few weeks ago on the previous page. YouTube viewing tip - you can pause with spacebar and use , & . to go frame by frame when people don't upload slow motion shots. Your swing is solid, and I like it. The video editing was solid as well!
  20. I'm not sure about laws regarding pets, but those are wild boars. They are obviously not native, and are a threat to the indigenous species in Hawaii, but they're not hunted down by the government like snakes are. Hawaii is very cautious about invasive species after they purposefully introduced the mongoose back in the sugar cane days -- to eat the rats. On Kauai, there are probably more chickens than people, and they roam around everywhere. There is also a pack of wallabies that live on Oahu. Not sure about their effect on the environment, but with no natural predators I hope it's not bad.
  21. For anyone rocking these, I just saw an ad somewhere that said they're having a 3 for 2 special right now.
  22. Yeah, Koolau is basically a harder version of Royal Hawaiian GC (formerly known as Luana Hills). RHGC is short, under 3000 from the blues, but target golf in 25mph winds is just not my idea of fun. Pretty course, the pigs were cool to watch, but yeah -- not my idea of fun golf when you only get to bring the driver out 4 times.
  23. It's funny because the course is in Kailua. Idk if you knew that or misspelled kalua pig, but I had a laugh either way Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  24. Tough conditions and course today. Played at Royal Hawaiian golf club in the mountains. Was about 25 mph winds, and it drizzled on us twice. Target golf in those conditions is not fun, and the fairways were being aerated which also sucked. Vice Pro+ splash into the water and leak into the jungle just as good as any ball Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
