  1. Played 9 today after not playing for a few weeks and played pretty well. Shot 5 over on an executive course which often plays more like 10 over, also official had my closest to a hole in one shot so far and I made the birdie put!
  2. The pool....I didn't want one, still don't, my wife won't let me drain it and skateboard in it. It needs constant attention and I think it has some underlying major issues that I haven't figured out yet. Had to drain it completely and get it acid and chlorine washed this last year and I don't feel like that really helped anything all that much. It always has algae problems and I feel like I have to clean the filter once a week which I've been told should really only be a once a month to once every 3 month job.
  3. The last couple of weeks I was feeling pretty discouraged, but feel much better after a decent range session tonight. Really focused on keeping my right arm connected to my body and some flex in my right knee. It's amazing how many things that cleaned up in my swing. I still come over the top just a little bit, but it sure looks better on camera than it did before. Irons went really well, driver still needs work but was flying better overall. It felt like there is actually a chance I might get better at this game for the first time in a couple weeks.
  4. I don't even need a driver, and think the looks of the Triton are only so so, but at 150 most places and I think I saw 130 somewhere I kinda want to buy it.
  5. I had some swing thoughts to work on and went to hit a bucket on the range. It started out really well, irons felt under control and I even started to play with hitting different trajectories with the shorter irons. Move on to the driver and hit the 5 best drives I've ever hit in my life, solid center face contact and a smooth feeling swing. And then the wheels fell off. Tried to hit a few more with the driver to figure out what I changed, didn't work. Went back to irons and it took probably ten swings to get a ball to fly well. Tried hitting some chip shots and that went ok. But not great. Went back to driver and got a few decent shots but nothing that felt like the first few. Course was empty so decided to play 9. Focused on picking a target off the tee and trying to swing smooth. Had some good shots but overall scored really high. I'll blame the high score on everything being cut down for reseeding and hang on to the good shots. Haha
  6. Thinking about a new driver and 3 wood and a fifty degree wedge. Not sure what I want brand and model on any of them. I have the Tour Edge TGS 56*wedge and absolutely love it, so might just find it in a 50. I have to go used and usually a few years old because of budget for the driver and 3wood. I hit a Taylor made R9 SuperTri recently that I crushed off the tee so might try to find one of those in good shape. For a club that's supposed to be high spin and launch I hit it long with medium trajectory with plenty of roll. As for the 3wood I have no idea what I want. I've hit several different brands and haven't fallen in love with anything yet.
  7. Got my clubs back from being reshafted yesterday and managed to squeeze in nine holes on the nearest Muni. Can't comment on the clubs because of the pending review, but course conditions were rough. 20-25 mph crosswinds on almost every hole and pin positions tucked behind bunkers on almost every hole. Thought I shot ok given the conditions and my 20+ handicap. Even managed to get on in 2 on the 18 th hole. Chipping was just ok, with most of my shots going longer than I expected. But putting was solid minus one 3 putt. Had a blow up 8 on the 16th which really hurt, and ended with a 50. Overall not excited about the score but felt I did ok given the circumstances. Still working on finding a consistent swing, and feel I'm getting closer.
  8. I haven't paid much attention the last year or so since I turned off Cable. I used to watch a lot of CL and EPL games. But since turning off Cable and adding a third kid I don't get to watch much, I sure miss it though. That video of Napoli is pretty impressive. Almost looked like they decided on a number of passes they had to get in the back before sending it forward. Stuff like that wears mentally on the opposing team. I love it! 9. I'm out visiting family and couldn't bring my own clubs, first drive went dead straight, topped the next shot, and it just got worse from there. Shot a 54 (9 holes) which is 6-8 shots worse than I've done in several months. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  10. Sounds like in your case "motion is lotion". Ankle pumps and circles throughout your day, everyday might help. Given your history it may even be worth a Physical Therapy visit or several. They'd be able to assess it more thoroughly, mobilize it for you and give you some better exercises. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  11. I've found myself liking some of the historical fiction type stuff The Last Kingdom Turn Both good ones on Netflix Not historical fiction but Mr. Robot on Amazon prime is good. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app

  13. Burro and Saguaro were the two they had us play today. Really enjoyed the views, and it was in great shape. Would love to play the gallery, not sure how to get on though. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  14. Nah he's just a gopher snake. Now rattle snake yes very bad, but not this guy. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  15. Played Dove mountain today, tough but fun course. I hit the ball great in warm up, not so much on the course. I can't complain though my game is slowly getting better. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  16. Billy is a nickname for William. And right now my game is at hack status, plus its kinda fun to say. Sent from my Pixel using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  17. I found MGS while researching used clubs to buy and was quickly sucked in by the data driven side of things. The information is presented in a straight forward, non marketing way that gives you an real idea of how the products might actually work for you. Every other site I found was either influenced by marketing or based mostly on opinion. Add to that the lack of big egos and generally friendly tone of the forum and you get a very comfortable, non threatening, source of information for the beginner and experienced golfer alike. 21. Today I had a super discouraging front 9 followed by a "oh hey this game isn't so hard" back 9. I'm not a good golfer, broke 100 for the first time a little over a month ago. But feel like I'm capable of much better golf than I play. I've had coaches and better players tell me that I have a good swing, but I have yet to have everything click. Today I scored +15 on the front and just a +6 on the back. This is a personal best for me but it's just so frustrating. The back nine included a chip in from an awkward position for par and a 30 foot putt for birdie, why couldn't even a little bit of that happen on the front 9? The good is that my irons are pretty consistent the bad is that neither my driver nor my woods are working consistently off the tee. I want so bad to be even just a "decent" golfer.
