  1. Well, aren't you a nice person. I'll do my best to ensure we never meet ... :-)
  2. I love links golf and I've played that "unusual" RTJ links course several times. DId they finally get the greens problem solved? Last time there were several temp greens and that took away from the experience but even with that, it is one of my favorite US links courses.
  3. The fact that this is a re-occuring topic is indicative of our societal problems. Respect for others and their space is the issue. Playing music on a golf course is prohibited at most private clubs but daily fee and public courses are another matter. Personally, I find any music played so that I must hear it while playing golf is unacceptable. The golf course isn't your home, or back yard. It is a shared space and respecting others environmental preferences here is vital. If you want musical accompaniment to your game use earbuds. It's enough that I am exposed to your bad swing and lack of knowledge of the game. To force your musical preferences on me is the last straw. I'm going to respectfully ask you to stop and if you comply, no problems. If you insist on continuing to this bad behaviour I'm out. As much as I would like to shove that speaker of your's down your throat, the legal consequences of such an action gives me only one option ... to stop playing with you and make sure that doesn't happen again by avoiding you like the plague which by the way, you are. This type of lack of respect and situational awareness is at epidemic proportions. I know you'll fire back with "but I like my music and it's my right to play it where and when I want". No it isn't you f-ing imbicle. Rant over ...
  4. No love for LIV here. LIV and let die is what I say.
  5. Three Coins in a Fountain? ... naw ... maybe the the theme music from the Flintstones. BTW, I HATE playing with people who like to share their music on the golf course. I prefer quiet, casual (e.g. not loud) conversation or, natures sounds (birds chirping). Now get off my lawn!
  6. Trunk to the tee, thats me. Been playing all my life and for years I got away with little to no practice but had good muscle memory and touch. Now, at 71 the memory has faded and so the swing/ball striking is mediocre. I think I waited to long as now practice doesn't seem to help much. It only causes physical breakdown. Oh well, I had a good run as a mid to low single digit. Sorry for the OT but just wanted to point out there are consequences if warmup and practice are not part of the regime.
  7. My regular weekly game is always walking. I'm 71 and my playing partners are that age or more. When I play resort courses carts are usually mandatory and it seems they are designed to prevent walking . I can see that for pace of play reasons but my buddies and I can and often do play in 3-3 1/2 hrs. We are always in position or far ahead of the group behind us. Strange to me to see so many young guys taking carts on our relatively flat, very walkable course.
  8. I'm 6'5" and need 36" waist 37 " inseam pants. Galway Bay is the only company to offer this length that sit where I want on my waist without a high rise (either droopy crotch or over the belly button). As a long legged guy, this is a unique problem for sure but it was great to find these perfect fitting pants on MGS. I played several rounds in Ireland this past March. It rained every day with one day of occasional sleet (see photo) at Druids Glen. The Galway Bay rain gear kept me comfortable and dry in all conditions. I ordered both the lined and unlined pants along with the jacket and could not be happier with the purchase. Thank you Galway Bay and MGS for bringing this rain gear to my attention.
  9. I created a golf course review webpage as a retirement project. Just a couple of reviews up at this point but will become more active next year. Feedback welcome ...

  10. Humm, when is something to good to be true? This simple approach to fitting depends upon the accuracy of the responses by the player. A quality in person fitting makes all this subjective opinion into real time data as well as allowing for the feel/look to be factored into this $400-500 purchase.
  11. I like Mark Crossfields VLOGS with the My Golf Travel guys. Fast paced 3 hole segments with great production values. I'm looking forward to this years offerings. As far as the equip testing and instruction go, I'm less interested in any of the youtube channels. As a believer in the "it's the Indian, not the Arrow" theory I need to test golf stuff myself.
