  1. What exactly is the problem with the other bags you've tried? I haven't had much issue. My putter occasionally tries to escape but I can quickly tighten up one shoulder so its angled a little higher to prevent it.
  2. Bag Review: I love this freaking bag. I don't have a lot of experience with different bags so it could be that. My last and only bag prior to this was a Maxfli stand bag. While that bag worked (Kind of) it was a major problem. The stand system sucked, there were only like 3 pockets, and the bag never seemed to want to fit more than 2 clubs comfortably in any slot. I got to the point where I just laid the bag down because I was so worried it would fall over during someones backswing. So with that knowledge in hand, take this review how you will... The Black / Black Cobra stand bag is awesome. The stand system is incredibly stable, and there are plenty of pockets to go around. I really like the water bottle slot, When you first look at it, it doesnt look its going to work, but I've had as big as a 42 ounce swell in it with no problems whatsoever. The bag is really light for all that it has. Heavier than my last but that doesnt mean much. I walk often. As much as I can really and I have no complaints about it. The extra ball pocket and water bottle container are both in reach while walking. the strap system is extremely comfortable and super easy to adjust, even while its on your back. Here's a little guide to what I keep in all of the pockets just for fun. Its also worth noting a glove isnt shown here because there is a velcro glove spot on the bag under the handle. Large Pocket: Bag of extra tees in the bottom, Extra sleeves of balls Small pocket attached to large pocket: Personal belongings, usually car keys and I keep my markers and ball mark tool in there as well Opposite Side: Loose balls, Driver adjustment tool Bottom pockets: Small pocket on top is loaded with loose teas cause they are super easy to grab from there, pocket under that has miscellaneous items (Sunscreen, Scorecard, etc..). Club cleaner tool in the mini-insert pocket next to it. \ If I have a complaint, I would say that on the bottom end of the bag my clubs have a tendency to get jammed up and not want to settle. But thats about it. Sidenote: I'm trying to get this review done before the weekend and I forgot to take the pictures of the pockets, etc.. like I wanted too. If anyones interested I can get those for you for sure.
  3. I couldn't get my round in yesterday and have family coming in today so here is my round from last weekend that will have to be good enough. Date Played: July 13th Course: Pinetree CC in Kennesaw, GA Course Rating/Slope for tees selected: 72.8 / 136 Gross Score: 101 Clubs Used: 3W, 5i, 8i, 54º It was a weird round. Not many great shots and had several OB tee shots with my 3 wood. I left ALOT of strokes out there. I meant to get another round in yesterday but ended up getting rained out. Still not a bad round for me with 4 clubs from the blues.
  4. I'm not sure if you are aware but they give you a while bunch of choices for grips. It's not just a single one. They have at least one choice for every preference.
  5. Come on guys stop heckling him for living in Paradise. Hot is relative to what you are used too. Plus @robertson153 and @JohnSmalls The southeast isn't really a fair comparison...We chose this hellish climate to live in. But the winters are nice.
  6. Well that makes up for it I guess. At least you got to play.
  7. Did you ever get on the course? I would be livid. Like Sergio on the greens kinda livid.
  8. Honestly it's a practice issue. There was a season where I was practicing just that and I got pretty good. But like anything feel related in this game, if you don't keep working at it you lose it. And my wedges are not single.length so can't blame my poor chipping on that. Ha This challenge has such an emphasis on playing rounds that there just isn't time for me to play and practice too. Once the challenge is over I'll probably spend one of the weekdays I usually spend playing 9 as a practice session again to try and bring that chipping handicap down. You could always try a mixed set. Or buy a one length 5 iron and see how you like it. You might could even do a utry or rental program or something. I mentioned this before but it does take an adjustment. If you remember from earlier in the thread I couldn't hit the long irons the right distance for the longest time and then suddenly 2 or 3 weeks after getting the clubs something clicked and now I love them.
  9. Played nine after work today and shot about average for me. One major improvement I've had is that I no longer really worry about my irons. I used too. It wasn't uncommon for me to have 3 or 4 penalties from approach shots with my irons. Or to lose balls on par 3 tee shots. The F9s are just straight and incredibly forgiving. Did I mention they are long? Now I'm able to focus on the parts of my game that can really drop my scores. Which is chipping and tee shots. Although using the 3 wood yielded 5/7 fairways so maybe it's just chipping it close that is my next big thing and staying out of trouble. Seriously though if you are a mid to high handicapper. These things work and if you don't have a problem gaming one lengths then do it. I hit a 238 yard 5 iron today...so don't let anyone tell you that they can't be hit as far because they are shorter either...worried about accuracy? Here's my ball mark from that same 5 iron uphill about 190 on a par 3. I know it feels like Im venting but there's so much negativity around one lengths that it drives me crazy. I'm officially a convert. Whatever formula Cobra is using for these works.
  10. .? What do I need a driver for when I can hit the 3 wood like this? Seriously though, there wasnt much discussion, I let wedgie pick first and then I picked my tees based on what was left in the bag that I could use. 5i is the shot for several tee shots and 2 par 3's, 8 iron is for the other par 3 and ~160 is a distance I find myself at often when trying to hit the green...
  11. My final score for this week: 36 holes - 49 shots with FW and 3H. 0 GIR, 0 GUR, 0 chips within 2 feet...
  12. Okay so I said this to my wife and she seems to disagree.... I'll keep you posted.
  13. 1. Not really. I've always thought highly of Cobra. Hence my previous driver. 2. Nah. I've always liked him. What's not to like? 3. Yes please. I'd buy a Cobra mallet in a heartbeat. 4. Nah. He deserves to be rewarded for his consistency. 5. 6. Nope. 7.Heck yes. This bag is incredible. I love it. Everything about it. More swooning to come... 8.yep. Everytime it misses a chip. I understand the technical limitations that causes the miss but it's still annoying. 9.nope. 10. Down down down.. Hitting a 5 iron from 205 out and having it land right in the middle of the green... Having multiple drives in one round that are over 280 and in the middle of the fairway Practically never missing the green between 60 and 105 yards Hitting a 4 iron 230 yards... More to come.im sure... That one lengths actually work...I had very low expectations and very high hopes coming in to them so I'm pleasantly surprised... Mustache and mullet. Guaranteed. Im from Alabama and live in Georgia now so that's not a big deal at all...
  14. Glover helping me out this week with an albatross on 10! I thought it was mistake the first time I looked at the scorecard. Ha. https://www.pgatour.com/video/2019/07/12/lucas-glover-s-spectacular-hole-out-albatross-at-john-deere.html
  15. Interesting, another club I've never actually hit before. What seperates a 7 wood from like a 4 iron? besides easy to hit-ness?
  16. I'm not sure, I'd definitely be more comfortable with an iron. maybe some sort of utility iron in that spot... I don't think I'd ever hit like a 5/6 wood though, I'm terrified enough of hooking my 3 wood into a house off the deck, a 5/6 wood would just hang out in the bag unused I think.
  17. 54 holes? I thought you weren't going to get many in this week? Ha!
  18. Fairway and Hybrid Review Time: I'm gonna break this into two parts because obviously these clubs are very different, naturally lets start with the Woods: Overview: As you already know I only got a 3 wood in my set. I've hit some 3 woods before but never actually owned one to play multiple rounds with. I will say it definitely adds some versatility to my long game and its much easier to keep in the fairway than my driver. I have a love / hate with this thing, but the more I use it the more the hate goes away. It started out as a hook machine for me. I mean huge hooks, always OB. The more I use it though, the more I see the potential in it and the better I'm getting at hitting it. My smart range with it right now is 233, thats a little low compared to what good strikes are doing. My longest is 260 with several between 245 and 255. I have a lot of hooks that have brought the average down. Gapping wise its just where it needs to be on the good strikes. About 25-35 yards shorter than my driver and about 15-25 longer than my 3H. Looks: I dig it, its like a baby version of the driver, the yellow is a lot on the bottom as you can see from my pic above but I really don't mind it. From the Deck: I hit it a lot cleaner than I ever thought I would. I think there is definitely something to those rails on the bottom of this thing. Honestly I dont try it too often because I don't have any holes where I feel comfortable hitting the ball 230+ from the fairway..just too many houses and hazards for that. From the Tee: Bombs away...If someone stole my driver, It wouldn't be a big deal..30 yards is a lot, but consistency and fairways matter and this thing finds them... Also I'm pretty sure I could adjust the loft down and hit it further...I may actually do that. Hybrid: Overview: Yeah this club is goofy. I don't have a better word for it. I had never hit a hybrid prior to getting this club so its an experience for me. I honestly don't like it. I know its supposed to be easier to hit than an iron and more forgiving and while that may be true, I have a lot of trouble getting this thing in the air. I have no idea what it is but this is by far the worst club in the bag for me and the only club I honestly just don't like. Don't get me wrong, I've hit good shots with it. Just not many. I played almost an entire round with just it and my 3w and while it does stay in the fairway for the most part, it just doesn't feel right, the launch is low and it runs forever, I can't hit it out of the rough at all either so If I need 200+ out of the rough, I have to take the 4i and just lay up. My smart distance is 205 with my longest being 230...with those numbers I just don't have much use for it when my 4i goes the same distance and is a lot more consistent. For a comparison, My 4i smart distance right now stands at 215. If I could get this thing to consistently go 230 then it would be perfect gapping wise but I just can't seem to figure it out. Looks: Meh, I'd rather have the yellow than the white, but I like the matte finish. From the deck: See my overview...I just can't hit this thing... From the tee: Not bad actually, some of my best shots with this thing are teed up...those shots are the only time I've liked using this club and they are the only shots that give me hope that I can one day use this thing well...
  19. I never considered going to 8º....Now you've given me dangerous ideas. 9º is where I found the magic, so 8 equals more magic right?
  20. These two were from the same round last weekend. 290 is turning into a normal thing over here..you can hit bombs too you know...
  21. It felt super light to me as well. And I was gaming an F7. I don't think you can get there in one demo session honestly. I'd suggest a utry or something if it's an option. It took me 4 weeks to adjust but now I'm suddenly hitting bombs. Here's today's longest...
  22. 1. Distance. Big time. Like this from today... That's about 35 yds longer than my old 5 iron...averaged out I probably have an extra 15 yards in these over my old ones. 2. The clubs. Hands down. Not sure what your looking for. I don't think there is any kind of advantage or anything to playing a full set from the same manufacturer or anything...
  23. Just got caught up here, I somehow missed this thread with all the CCC Q&A going on. Congrats on being chosen, as others have already said these things certainly suit you, and there isn't anyone better on here I could think of to review these. I'm looking forward to following along, I don't have any questions because blades like this terrify me, but I would love to be able to game them someday.
