  1. LuLu Lemon or the less expensive version Dicks Sporting Goods version. They have the taper you are looking for.
  2. @GolfweaselGood to hear it works over the long term. I'm on day 16 after injection. Went to PT today and its pretty sore. I'm told it takes a while as you said.
  3. BTW I did shockwave therapy. It did nothing but drain my checking account. 5 treatments at $250 each. Nothing improved, and in fact got worse as my previous post says. Not BECAUSE of shockwave I don't think, but it didn't help at all. Hurt like a MF as well. I came to the conclusion that hitting the area with a Theragun does the same thing and also did not work for me. I think I am/was too far gone damage wise anyways.
  4. I have the issue in both elbows. Mostly on the right side. I have tried everything. I have been dealing with this for years until I couldn't take it anymore. I was at the point where I was in pain even not moving. Throbbing pain. BTW for me the use of a strap support while playing made the problem worse. Really inflamed things. When I wore it just for everyday living I had no problems but playing really woke up the demons. The doctor said it is probably because I am too far-gone damage wise. Reasearch revealed PRP. It is supposed to be effective, not particularly invasive and great long term as opposed to steroids. So I did it. It was an out of pocket expense. There are 2 types. Basically, large and small. Large cost me here in Tennessee $800 for one elbow. Here is a pic of the second injection (same syringe divided between 3 spots). No topical or pre injection pain relief, just straight in! Yep, hurt like a MF. Post injection pain was pretty severe, although manageable. You cannot take anything anti-inflammatory for weeks before and after the procedure. So no advil relief and no ice. leading up to and after. Day one I had some leftover Vicodin so I used that. After the first day the pain levelled off considerably. I had swelling in the region. That went away after a week. I am now in week 2 and I have not had a lot of improvement. It is expected to take about 6 weeks for this to all calm down and work. I hope that is true. I can update if anyone is interested.
  5. A smooth tempo is for sure needed to get the most out of this shaft. Personally, I use a G425 max with the standard weights in place. Stripe the thing all day long. If you havent yet, try the stock weights as intended. I experimented with lighter weights, but it was not until I went with the standard setup that I had real success.
  6. That was very revealing, but it was not with spun golf balls. And you are correct about Calloway. It would be fascinating measure the "Aligned" performance vs the opposite "Misaligned" performance. And on mid angles as well. Or set the robot to open face and then test the aligned ball performance vs misaligned. See what the difference is. Or it may be negligible.
  7. Imagine how many people are buying golf balls and then having shots go haywire that are not their fault! This subject just screams for a real MGS test.
  8. So I just spun up a box of Pro V1X's {Yellow}. I noticed that as the ball was increasing in speed and finding it's axis balance, the spin noise is louder and it vibrates. As it finds the balance it vibrates less and is quieter. Next time I see a real ball amongst the range balls I will snag it and see how it performs while spinning. Should be interesting.
  9. No one I've ever played with has heard of it. Even a couple who have said they are "gearheads". I am playing an Autoflex with a G425, these spun ProV1x's, and between them I am in the fairway more often than not. Having said that; You still have to put a decent swing on the thing lol. Every once in a while, I misfire and that is where I believe my setup helps the most. My misses {right} are never "Into the next fairway" and usually are limited to deep into the rough. Maybe it helps, maybe not much. I intend to take every advantage I can. So it works for me.
  10. I imagine you are correct. The difference being that the ball will want to correct any adverse side spin to align with the axis, and if you can predetermine that axis line the any side spin placed at impact will a:correct faster and b: not cause the ball to curve as far. Whereas if you could not present the correct line at impact then depending on where the spin axis is when you placed it onto the tee it would fight to find that and therefore exasperate any directional mishit as opposed to having the axis aligned. Lol I hope that makes sense.
  11. Exactly. Go have some fun with it. You will get to 10, then it will be 9 because you don't want to be that close to single digits and not be there. Then it will be an even lower number! It never ends! Consider chipping and putting as a priority with your practice time. At 14, you are probably missing some par putts that some practice reps could clean up. Solid chipping makes everything less stressful on approach shots knowing you can still have a shot at par. I am short game practice greens 2 days a week depending on my playing days. I can go weeks and never set foot on the range. However, in making a strong push to change my shallowing move I have spent a few days exclusively on the range. Had too much fun hitting too many balls too fast and injured myself. Back strain. Not too bad but enough to keep me off the course this week. I should have known..........
  12. I really like that type of swing. I use it too. I set up kind of inside and try and follow the plane of the shaft back and up. It really simplifies things for me. Your plan sounds solid. I bet you see the results you are looking for pretty fast once you get your rhythm. Not necessarily for you, but in my case, I did not really see much improvement until I started playing more. I understand you are not in a position to play a lot; I was like that too, but now as someone fortunate enough to be able to play 5 times a week I cannot understate how important it is to get off the range and onto the course. Things get better with playing experience. On the range I was always chasing the perfect, most consistent shots. In reality, I can hit a thin 5 iron that ends up feet from the pin. Or pull an approach and accidentally save myself when my original line would have been bunker. Both shots would have been unacceptable on the range but led to birdies in reality. If you can hit the course more, do it. But family first, as always!
  13. For what its worth I have battled and over the top move forever. It is getting incrementally smaller, but it takes discipline on my part to make sure I am not doing it. My point is: If it feels the same, your probably not doing it right. If it feels "wrong" or "different" then it is probably correct, especially if your teacher is telling you to do it. Embrace the different feeling in the swing. Reject the familiar. If your instructor does not have video consider moving on. Yes, I know there are great instructors without video, however the fastest was to improve is with video imo. Live video preferably. That way you can get into the positions and see/feel where/how they are. Just a thought.
  14. Yes I have and it returns to the same position every time. Every ball, every time. You can see the line correct itself into the horizontal position and axis of the spin. To me this is proof no ball is perfectly round. If it was, you could not repeat the process. It would always be random with a perfect round ball. The fact is they are not perfect and as such, this thing works. How much difference does it make? I believe it makes a difference off the tee where the line can be aligned with your shot. Does one NEED this? No. But every little thing helps imo. I wish MGS would do a test on this subject. It would be awesome to see the results.
  15. OK, Im generally making false statements. Good luck all. Just trying to add my experiences. Should have known better. Im out.
  16. D5. Fussing about getting to a D0 or D1 swing weight will make the driver too light and hard to control. Counter weighting does not help. I went through that journey when I first got Autoflex. I was about to give up when I decided to put the standard G425max head on it. So glad I did. It's the most reliable club in the bag.
  17. Check go absolutely works for me. Fresh batteries are nice, but the real trick is to let it spin 10 seconds after the green light comes on. I have found it takes longer to get to the actual peak spin balance point. My unscientific thoughts are no core is perfectly centered. Some are worse than others. As we all know modern balls are getting better but there are still cores off center enough to case spin vibration, which as the balls fights to find the axis, causes air flow disturbances. This can enhance bad shots and slow the ball down faster killing distance off the tee. The "Pre spun" ball does not have to fight to find center and just goes. When you line it up and really center one you can tell just watching it fly. Also, slices or draws seem to be reduced. I think it really only helps off the tee where high spin rates are applied. The low spin rates of putting should not have any appreciable differences in effect. I mark the line all the way around the ball so that helps with putting in an unrelated way. The spin axis and the markings on the cover have zero correlation. I use ProV1x yellow for example and zero correlation. An interesting thought, and not one I am capable of really testing, is what effect using the opposite of the spin axis would have? I suppose more vibration equals more air friction, which would make for a shorter shot or a stronger curve to a slice or draw? This seems to be one to the unexplored areas for golf ball performance. Unless a ball core is perfectly centered, and everything else is perfectly round, there will be an off-balance point and an axis. Manufacturing such a ball would be too costly. They are getting very good though. Callaway has this site to thank for pushing them to make a better ball. Having said all this, you can just to get a golf ball and play just fine. This is for geeked out gear nerds like myself who have too much time. I believe it helps my game and that gives me confidence on the tee.
  18. Autoflex is an amazing shaft. It requires the user to have an even tempo and a smooth direction change. Once that's done however its turn and burn. For me, long, dead straight and money well spent. It is for once, a {way} overpriced and overhyped golf gadget that works. For me it works as advertised. The Graffaloy PLB are on my 3 and 5 woods. They are my attempts to inexpensively replicate the Autoflex. They work great but are not Autoflex. However,it is an amazing shaft and I encourage everyone to pick it up in regular flex if you are used to stiff and give it a try. For around $60 it is inexpensive and very underrated imo. Do not cut the tip. Just butt trim it to 46". The real big difference between the two is the butt end of Autoflex is almost as flexible as the tip end. The Graffaloy is much more conventional with a stiffer butt end, particularly in relation to the tip end. I believe it can tolerate a less smooth change in direction, making it more "universal" in appeal than Autoflex, not to mention the price difference. The PLB will require some reps to get used to the flex into impact. Let me tell you, when you get it right it is just oh so pure feeling. Dechambeau uses a regular flex for long drive competition. There is something to it. Lastly in my experience both shafts play well with standard head weights. I play a Ping G425 Max on mine. Rip it. A lot.
  19. I have tried several shafts over the years, but it was Autoflex changed everything for me. Straighter, longer and expensive. I have a G425 Max on it. The loaded, rhythmic swing required to use an Autoflex bled into my other clubs and my game has improved dramatically. I have well over $1200 into this club. It is worth every penny to consistently be in the fairway, around or more often inside of the 150. No other shaft has ever felt like it, worked like it or made the game as fun as it has. There is one thing about Autoflex that in my experience is a must for it to work right. You have to change your swing to meet the shafts requirements to maximize its potential. In other words, you must make an even tempo'ed swing and load it at the top. Then a smooth transition into the downswing. Then turn and burn. It really gets to be automatic sometimes. I love hitting driver. How much would you be willing to pay for that? Now that I have a taste of it, I would pay more to be honest.
  20. Autoflex by far for me. For a conventional shaft I would say Graffalloy Pro Launch. Both are high launchers but Autoflex is much more forgiving and longer.
  21. Haha thank you. I play with a lot of younger folks so sometimes 59 seems old. As far as me adjusting to it, I knew my swing was not optimal to begin with. I knew it was the indian not the arrow. Really it came down to me leaning how to use it properly. Once I did it changed my game on so many levels. Golf went from frustrating with the occasional good shot to shooting in the 70s on a regular basis. Everything improved. I did end up changing out my three wedge shafts (Taylormade Milled Grind Black) from stiff Dynamic Gold to Elevate 95 regular flex. I had pretty much the same experience although on a smaller scale. I was concerned too much shaft flex would impact my short game, but it's been fine. On full swing I gained several yards and more spin. The temptation to get some Autoflex shafts for my hybrids and fairway woods is certainly there. I am sure I will take the plunge later in the spring. The performance gain is addictive. With driver I hit every fairway my last round. Every tee shot long and with a baby draw. Imagine that!! It never gets old. It really comes down to "How much would you spend to hit it straighter and longer"? If I put a driver in front of you that could make you hit it 25+ yards longer and straight guaranteed, but it was $1300, would you buy it? I would.
  22. As stated, this is my experience with the Autoflex iron shafts. A few things: I am 59 with shoulder and elbow problems that have limited my swing speed. I am a 6 handicap. I am at present about 92mph with driver. I tried the Autoflex driver shaft. After messing around unsuccessfully with a Maverick head I put on my G425 Max head and have never looked back. I hit it amazing. Longer and straighter; everything as advertised. It revolutionized golf for me. For once a golf gimmick that actually worked. It is worth every penny to me. Average drive gain was 20 yards. I bought some G425 irons (thankfully right before the shortage) and love the results, but I hate the feel. I think part of the feel is the graphite shafts. They are very clunky at impact. On a holiday shopping high I decided to treat myself to 3 Autoflex SF405 iron shafts. They arrived in 2 days (I am close to the dealer) and I decided to use them on my G425 Wedge, 9 iron and 8 iron. Per Autoflex I tipped 3" for the wedge, 2.5 for the 9 and 2 for the 8. I then removed the heads from the Ping shafts and matched the length for each and butt cut them. I used Golf Pride Align +4 grips. So yes, I paid $600 for 3 golf club shafts. I am blessed and fortunate to be able to afford to do that. God bless the USA for making it possible. Boy, am I glad I did. The performance gain was evident on the first swing. Every shot straight and long. I gained 10 yards on each club. Probably from the increased trajectory. The G425s were wonderful at helping me get the ball up in the air. With the Auto flex shafts the ball flew even higher and with an obvious increase in ball speed. I cannot say how happy that makes an old golfer! The feel is similar to the driver. You can feel the load and unload of the shaft through the swing. It is a very light shaft (I think 52 grams) so my swing speed feels faster. It for sure feels softer through impact but also with a spring effect. The previous clunky feeling is gone with a duller impact. Cast with never feel as nice as forged. I have no idea what the swing weights are. Everything feels fine. For reference my previous distances: Wedge (set G425 wedge) 110 yards now 120+. 9 iron was 120 now 130+ and 8 iron was 130 now about 145. This has caused adjustments upwards in my bag. A couple of thoughts on Autoflex. The driver shaft made me a better golfer. In the same way Gforce trainer flexes so does the Autoflex. Both require an even tempo and unhurried direction change. They also require an inside move to impact. I had to adjust my swing to the shaft to make it work for me. As a slow swing speed player, the adjustment helped my overall game as well. I believe it was not just the distance gains I got form the shaft, but the feeling of the slot it introduced me to. That bled into all my clubs and my handicap dropped dramatically last season. I mean 8 points. If you are a strong golfer who hits it a ton. You probably don't need Autoflex. If you are a sub 100 mph swinger and can somehow get your hands on one, do it. I am super excited for the 2022 season. I hope this all made sense. Thanks for your time. I tend to believe Autoflex helps slower swing speed players more than high swing speed players.
  23. @edingcGreat job laying out your experiences! Thank you for that.
  24. Sorry for the late reply. I am using the SF405. The head weight in my case is helpful. I took 1 inch off the butt. Just love this thing. Hit all 7 fairways on the front nine yesterday. As a senior I cant hit it far, but the difference between 220 of the tee to 250+ with the Autoflex answered one question for me: Am I willing to pay for extra yards? YES! Apparently I am!
  25. Just to let everyone know who has been struggling with the Autoflex/Maverick combo; I tried it with the 10,5,2 and nothing weights looking to get it on or near the D0 swing weight. I couldn't control it. Left, right. I got discouraged after a few weeks and went back to my G425 with the Graffaloy Pro Launch Blue. I decided to give the Autoflex a try with my Ping G25 head. It was supposed to be too heavy according to posts on here, which is why I went and got a Maverick head for the shaft initially. I am so glad I did. The G425 Max head with a stock weight is perfect for me. I am striping it straight and long. I gained the "as advertised" 25 yards. I can feel the head better than before and that has made all the difference. Love it. Try the Ping head if you can. It very well may be the Maverick head is too light as was my case.
