  1. Today Range session: Got loose with the Orange whip trainer just to make sure I was getting in good swings. Capture the Data using the SC300i unit. Started with my current game shaft Fujikura NX TCS 50. Carry/Total/Swing Speed/Ball Speed were solid for my swing. And they were was pretty consistent. After this took a breather, swapped out the shaft to the Terra Forza White. Carry/Total/Swing Speed/Ball Speed there was a solid improvement on all of the numbers, which is consistent with my initial session after the fitting. One thing I have notice and I just need to adjust my setup is that because the swing weight is so different from my gamer (D8) to the Terra Forza (D5) There is more of a left straight pull / draw to the ball flight vs my straight / baby cut that am accustomed of playing. The shaft feels like I can still give it a harder swing and it doesn't feel like am going to lose the drive. Next time I get on the course that its not raining, I be interested to see how its coming along as I continue to get more comfortable with the shaft.
  2. Weather is not looking good this weekend again. Beautiful during the week and then on the weekend Thunderstorms , flooding OH MY! Really interfering with playing golf. And no I don't play in the rain by choice. I don't own rain gear or cart covers, or anything like that. That would imply that I approved in playing in horrible weather. I like golf, I don't love golf that way. Will see if I can get out on Thursday and play an afternoon round. I like to see how the shaft performance on my home course while its fairly dry.
  3. Took the shaft out of the course today. Even though the course was soaked from all the rain yesterday, so there was zero roll it was hit and stop. I used the SC300i Launch Monitor and the driving range before the round just to get some base numbers from this shaft. I will post the numbers later, when I get In back to the computer and I can download the Data. There was a definite increase in ball speed, carry and total yards from my current shaft to the TF White. 4/19 - carry/total yds Avg: 230.1/248.9 - Ball Speed Avg:142.0 mph - Swing Speed Avg: 95.8 4/20 - carry/total yds Avg: 239.5/258.1 - Ball Speed Avg: 144.4 mph - Swing Speed Avg: 97.1 Am going to try to hit the range tomorrow and get some more numbers with my current shaft at least 10 swings and 10 with the TF White. With the SC300i Launch Monitor and see if they stay consistent. This are the numbers from my Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 50 Original Shaft: This are the numbers from my Terra Forza White Shaft:
  4. White Shaft, strong tip, same length as my current shaft, CP2 Standard Grip. TM Sleeve.
  5. Shaft has arrived. Unfortunately range is closed and it's going to rain tomorrow.. so it will have to tested out in play on Sunday.
  6. TF shaft is out for delivery hope it gets here before the evening I can get out to the Range and give it a test drive before putting in play on Sunday. Saturday is a wash here, down pours expected all day.
  7. Took it out to the range this morning. 1st thing I notice how bright the numbers show in the screen and how easily is to see from 5-6ft away with no issues. Remote control super useful, just point and change the club, carry/distance, practice or just swing speed. NOW, I struggle to get position correctly, it says 5ft behind , it was having a hard time a first picking up the shots. Towards the end I figured out where to stand and swing away and it started to pickup the shots much better. The App on the phone syncs with the device and this gives you all the data plus spin rate(question how they get this info) but non the less the Data is there. Took it out on Sunday.. And see if the numbers improve or stay consistent .
  8. Well I have broken down and purchase the VC Swing Caddie 300i. I have been looking into this for awhile, but I finally did it. Looking forward to testing out tomorrow at the range. https://voicecaddie.com/products/swing-caddie-sc300i
  9. Continued my 3 times a week chipping and putting ritual. This is getting pretty consistent now. This was chipping from 25-30ft..
  10. Looks Like the TF Yellow+ was money.. Ball speed up by 5mphs compare to the other stats. Club Speed, Carry/Total. all look like a step up. I agree the fact that there was no specs to compare made it skeptical but this is by designed, so you don't automatically assume you belong on a Red (expecting that is like X-Stiff shaft). I wish I had to those numbers . Yikes.., impressive. Looking forward to getting mine soon.. hopefully in the next few days. I like to take to the course for a test drive before putting into Tournament play on Sunday.
  11. During the Fitting yesterday.. Colin did mention a couple of items of interest. 1. There is a new a Blue shaft coming out soon, this is supposed to be in between the White and Orange. 2. PGA Player - Collin Morikawa - is schedule to get fit in the next week or so. This could be interesting to see this shaft on the PGA in the near future.
  12. @Scottd88 Welcome to the area.. my home course is Buffalo Creek (even tho I don't play there as much as I should, but I do used the practice area almost everyday) Lets get in touch and play a round.
  13. I have the X5 Watch, and the band of the watch pickups the tag on the clubs, you don't have to TAG it manually. That is the one thing I love that, I don't even think about it.. it automatically does it.
  14. @tdc1 Apparently, once your data is collected on the pressure plates (its like a DNA for your swing) and according to Colin that Data will not change once you get into the Terra Forza shafts.
  15. Good Evening. Today I completed my fitting this afternoon at Tour Prove Golf with Colin Hamilton. Colin explains how they use the "Ground Reaction Forces" Data to determine the shaft that best fits your swing. As it takes into account your body weight, body turn, shift between your feet, plus other Data that calculates what shaft would best work for you. One thing that Colin pointed out was that they don't advertise on the site what is the flex of each shaft ie. regular, stiff, x-stiff. Because they want the "Ground Reaction Forces Data" to determine the correct shaft and not to be based on the flex of the shaft. After getting warmed up, Colin set up the pressure plates to begin gathering Data. My Drive is TM Qi10 MAX set at 8.5 Loft with Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 50. What I found interesting was that we only took 4 shots with my current setup to collect the algorithm. Colin explains because all users swings are unique the Data collected is like a DNA for your swing. I asked if he needed it to get on the plates again after getting the information on the recommended shaft. He said no because the Data would not change. After the Data was collected, it was suggested between the Orange and White. Colin explains that I was right at the borderline between the Orange and White shafts. We started testing with the Orange Shaft, 1st thing I noticed was how light it was specially in the tip. Even thou, the shaft weighs at 65 compared to my 50 of my gamer. The swing felt loose on the down swing and didn't feel stable almost whippy. And this was do to the soft tip of the shaft. Because of this we moved into the Yellow Shaft, this was stiffer and felt better, but still not as comfortable with this shaft. Moved on to the White Shaft with a stronger tip. This had the desired feel and the ball speed and smash factor numbers jumped up. Tweak the loft a few degrees up and down, but at the end we came back to my current settings of 8.5. At the end the ball speed jump from 135.2mph to 139.8/140mph with the White Shaft. Carry Distance jumped up from 194 yds to 211.7 yds and total distance from 221.8 yds to 227.5 yds One of the things I had noticed was that when I put my game shaft back on my driver it felt much heavier than with the Terra Forza. Colin wanted to know why the big difference and we found out that even though my shaft weighs 50 the swing weight is set at D8. Versus Terra Forza White Shaft weighs 65 but the swing weight is set at D5. Colin is getting the White Shaft built and will have shipped hopefully by the end of the week. After the fitting I decided to go play a practice round at a course and am planning to play in a tournament on Sunday. This way I can compare the numbers on the course if I get the new shaft before Sunday. Ironically , I drove the ball great at the course, and missed 3 fairways (just in the first cut). Average and longest drive, doesn't compare to the Trackman numbers distances. So now I am really curious to compare these numbers with the numbers of the new shaft.
  16. Played yesterday for the first time in a month. Not a bad round, decent front nine but I could tell I haven't played in a while. Got tired and was forcing the swing a bit. But I like what I was seen from my practices coming along. Maybe by the summer they will be inplace.
  17. Range session yesterday.. working on my irons and making a conscious effort to move my lower body first on the downswing. It's harder than it seems. Getting better, timing is off right now. But did see some improvement.
  18. I mean base on my 4/2 trackman numbers the bar is already low. It can only go up. Carry Distance Swing Speed Smash
  19. I'm looking forward to the fitting today. I'm wondering how the numbers will compare with the different shafts and the pressure plates.
  20. Damn.. I just played they Quarry in January.. look forward for it to open again.
  21. The putting is an issue with every tracking devices I have notice. There hasn't been a perfect way. With that been said, with the Watch Band picking up the putter, I wait until am home and then adjust any putt that wasn't capture correctly. It only takes a few mins so doesn't take away from the experience. You can do it on the app on the phone or on the computer. I find the on the computer at times its easier cause you can expand the green more clearly than on the phone, easier to mark the putts.
  22. Schedule my Fitting for 4/15 at the Tour Proven Golf Complex. Looking forward to their fitting experience with the Terra Forza Pressure Plates devices. This should be interesting.
  23. I have had the ShotScope system for almost 9mon now.. and I have been very happy with the Data.. they keep bring up new updates to the devices.
  24. The Bag has hold up nicely.. haven't had the need to take off the extra pockets. The bag is light enough and everything has fit without any issues. From time to time, I grab the wrong zipper that the wrong compartment starts to open. Other than that very happy with it so far. No need to change.
  25. INTRO: I have been golfing for the past 19yrs, started after leaving the military and moving to San Francisco, I never expected to play golf. Everyone in my office played golf and they took me to a par 3 course in San Francisco and I remembering making par on the 4 hole (easy game, LOL) have been hook since. Once I moved back to NYC, I began to play more and become more competitive and really get hooked on the game. Now living in Texas, my game as become more consistent as I get the play year-round vs 6 months a year when I was in NYC. Started playing in some of the US AM Tour and Amature Players Tour tournaments again, and this has help my confidence and concentration since every shot counts and cannot just waste a shot if I was just playing around with friends. My game – Currently at 8.8 HC, up and down, struggle with concentration in the middle of the round causing silly mistakes, which escalates those numbers quickly. Hence my scores fluctuating from 77 to 87. Chipping and putting has help keep my rounds under control, getting up and down from around the greens. Which I considered that my strength of my game. I struggle at times with my mid irons, but I compensate with my wedge game and putting. My driving has been consistent by hitting lot of Fairways, average 66%, but not much for distance, average carry currently is between 215-220 yds. So, I am looking forward to evaluating this new shaft and hoping that those numbers improve without losing control of the fairway. It is no fun hitting it far, but if its miles left or right and have to punch out or re-tee. Then distance is negated.
